Jets Prospects

Kyle Connor has 48 point in 27 games an average of 1.7787 points per game .

Dylan Larkin had 47 points in 35 games for the same team last year for an average of 1.343 points per game .

Jack Eichel had 71 points in 40 games in his last year of college for  an average of 1.775 points per game .

I see Connor making the team in the fall and actually signing in March and getting a couple of weeks on the Jets roster at the end of the season.

I am hoping to see Connor on one wing with Wheeler or Ehlers or Armia on the other wing with Scheif or Matthews at center.

Going forward... Connor Scheif Wheeler Armia Ehlers and Matthews/Laine/Puljujärvi look like a pretty solid top 6 for a few years.

Lemieux, Roslovic, Petan, Copp, Lowry, Harkins, De Leo,  Lipon, and Spacek will be fighting for roster spots sooner or later.

We have Comrie and Helle and Phillips for depth in goal and look to be set for some time.

Our D, on the other hand, needs some help on the depth. Besides Morrissey, there isn't much coming up the pike on the left hand side and I fully expect the Jets to take some LHD at this draft or trade for one by this time next year. There is Sami Niku and not much else. The RHD right now is very good but not a great deal coming up the pike. Hopefully Kostalek makes the team in at least a 3rd pairing position and hopefully Glover and/or Poolman and/or Nogier turn out.

Thank you sir, but that looks like last years list.

Yeah, Berdin would be call gramps if he was playing.

Looking for something positive in this.

Not finding any.

I doubt he'd be going to World Juniors if he had stayed with the Moose...

Article in the Athletic today, if he stays overseas for the year and doesn't play 10 NHL games, his ELC doesn't start this year but next year and he would not have to be protected for the 2021 Expansion draft.

So, I guess it will be Samberg, Gustafsson and Virtanen at the World Juniors?  Is there anyone else I'm missing?

Based on how the guys on the radio were talking this week... it seems like Comrie might be traded for picks at the draft and that they'll be moving forward with Berdin being the prospect goalie....

Depends if they sign Broissoit. Likely will. So makes sense to move Comrie. Hes having a great year too.

No way they start Samberg in the bigs. He's headed to the Moose for seasoning. He needs to learn how to play at the professional level.

It will be good to have a few prospects on the Moose d-line.   Stanley apparently has improved steadily this season with them.

agreed  Samberg looks like he could be a good one.  Niku is good.  D looked like a problem but it might not be too bad.

A lot will depend on Trouba. Stay or leave and finding the right return if he is leaving.

I suspect we will go to arb and trade him at the deadline. Unless NJD want a pretty good D man.

I don't think they'll get that far. I bet, if he's not going to sign, the Jets swing a deal by the time FA starts. That way, they have the plan in place for the year. The Jets will still be contenders next year, even if they bow out early this year.

NJD or NYR. I'll take either!!!

If they go to Arb again, I believe its a one year deal and Trouba becomes a UFA.  So thats a bad deal for the Jets.  It would tell the other teams that he's a problem and lower the return.  I think they know right now what the plan is...sign or trade.

Yes, it's a one-year deal. I think most outsiders would see Trouba trying to become a UFA, rather than being a problem. Hence, his peak value is this spring, after the parade, but before they're forced to go to arbitration. I could see a sign and trade.

What I mean is no team is trading for him without being allowed to talk contract first.  If it gets to the deadline he could be a deadline UFA but his value is lower and the Jets end up trading away a top player when they're competing for the playoffs themselves.  Or lose him for nothing.  They have to make a decision this summer.

And its already close enough to UFA status that Trouba will have leverage.  A team will want to know they can sign him which means he can dictate where he goes.

I agree, just like Stone to VGK. An extension will be agreed to before the trade happens. Perhaps, it's the Jets signing the deal, then trading, so that Trouba gets his eight years, with the trade in place.
