Argos at Als / Leos at Stampeders

Some big games to watch tonight.  Everyone wants to know who's gonna break out of the East's slump, winner of this first game could do it.  Pivotal game for at least one team tonight.

For Montreal, this could be Troy Smith's "Do Or Die" game.  He's had some rough ones on the road so far in McMahan and BC Place, but has done fairly well at home so far.  A win tonight and the Als will continue to ride the TS Train, but should signs of struggle become eminent, the word is the Als will turn to Marsh or Brink this game.

For Toronto, the injuries have decimated their playmaking receiving corps, and someone is gonna need to step up for Ricky Ray if the Argos hope to get back on track.  And someone on Burke's defense also is gonna need to step up and become a leader there.

Critical game here for both squads, though I think in Montreal's case, given their current personnel situation, I think it's much more critical for them.  The Argos injuries to Durie, Owens, and Barnes have obviously hurt them a lot, but once they get healthy they got the ability to make a comeback into the playoff picture.  The Als on the other hand, they start getting behind in East vs East games and I think they're done.

Calgary vs BC will be interesting.  Calgary has continued to find ways to win despite some of Mitchell's struggles, yet you just feel their luck won't hold up forever.  BC has their problems but they've also shown they can surprise you when you least expect it.  Gonna be a good game here tonight.

I was hoping Calgary would pull off the win. It's great that we're 5-1 don't get me wrong, but only being four points out of last (I'm assuming Saskatchewan beats Ottawa tomorrow) makes me uneasy.

That holding call on Harris 75 TD run was bogus ... discretionary at best  ... I hate when the zebras control outcomes instead of just being even handed

Horrible call. If that's holding they may as well reduce touchdowns by about half.

Ya that offence is making Mike Kelly's schemes look brilliant ...   ;)

Ha ha, I can't believe how incompetent that Montreal staff is. Sure their QB's aren't the best but they have speed at receiver and running back and just need to get the ball in their hands. Troy Smith is their best option just don't ask him to try to complete a lot of passes over 5 yards.

And Glenn finally got a win in Cowtown making the Stamps look human after all.

Montreal is as bad as we were last year, maybe worse.  Coaching issues.  QB issues.  Horrible decisions.  Don Matthews looked like someone should put a mirror under his nose to see if he was still breathing on the bench.  Smith, then Brink, then Smith, then Brink.  I'm certain that's not the way to get any consistency.  Smith's their best option.  Let him run around and keep chucking it deep.  That's what he does best.  Dimwiddie as an OC?  I don't see them winning more than 3 or 4 games this year.

BC's an enigma.  Play great one week.  Stink the joint out the next.  Calgary should have pressured Glenn more to get him off his game like Montreal and Wpg did.  Harris had a great half and Calgary's great defense gave up a bunch of big plays.  Not the result I was expecting, but it sure is nice to be alone in first place.

The enigma of BC is the under use of Andrew Harris. Not I'm complaining, but I'm not sure why he was used so little against the Bombers. Then he's a world beater against Calgary the next week.

I would of preferred a Calgary victory, to keep some distance between us and the Lions... at least it was an entertaining game though.

at least it was an entertaining game though.

That's the most important part. Bombers take care of their own business don't need to worry about what anyone else is doing, the rest of the games I just want to be entertained.

Tell me that Toronto/Montreal game was not one of our showcase games on ESPN...

Horrible qb management , Schultz was right for once.

Why wasn't Marsh playing?

Brink has a very slow release , just send pressure and he's done.

Mitchell is slightly over rated but quite mobile and solid at the short passes.

BC didn't really start using Harris until the second half of the game but once they started feeding him they didn't stop.  He would have had 150 yards in the one half if that TD hadn't been called back.  Don't know if he can keep up that pace but it must have clicked with Glenn and Khari that  extensive use of their tandem running backs is going to pave the road toward victory. I'll be surprised if that isn't the focus of their future game plans.   Look forward to the next BB/BC match up.

Fans in Calgary today showing venom towards Anthony Parker & his craptastic game last night. Especially when he turtled on that long pass because he didn't want to get hit. If anyone is an enigma, it's that guy. Just a bloody headcase. Glad he's not with the Bombers. He'd never have made the catch JFG did. Wouldn't be willing to take the hit.

Both Mallett and Harris broke tackles last night in critical situations for lots of extra yards. Grigsby caught the pass that won us the game in Hamilton, but I still maintain that we could benefit from a back who doesn't run east-west or collapse at the first touch.

That was the most spineless thing I've seen out of a football player since Brock Ralph

I'm very surprised that he's been playing ahead of Sinopoli this season. I've never been a fan of Parker. He's a good athlete but not a good football player.
