The TV Thread

Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

Anyone else into this?

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

House of Cards was tremendous.

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

I have been watching The Jinx on Crave, which is a wild story. I remembered the name but never got into the details, but Robert Durst is a piece of work. Very well done doc.

The low bar is Spider-Pig and She-Hulk Attorney At Law

Totally disagree. She-Hulk was great for what it was. If you create a giant universe, like Marvel did, with that many different characters/storylines, you need variety on how you deliver the content. She-Hulk was different but still moved the franchise forward.

Plus, this is a Sony production, correct?

Watched a great short 6 episode series "A Man in Full" with Jeff Daniels playing a Southern real-estate mogul in financial difficulty, short and sweet and don't have to worry about waiting for season two, it's over in 6.

She Hulk was fantastic. Really enjoyed it for what it was... Disney's version of Fleabag...

She Hulk at least had the memes of her twerking :D     So it did at least bring a form of comedy unintentionally to a large audience.

Did not know TSS was filmed here. You would have thought the lack of filming in 2023 was enough notice it was cancelled 😂

well film crews are kind of a normal sight here, and usually it's Hallmark Holiday Hash (hell I caught them filming or putting stuff together in that tunnel near Red River Bookstore))

The Outlaws season 3 is coming out next Friday on Prime.

Great little show with Stephen Merchant, Christopher Walken and Jessica Gunning (currently in Baby Reindeer).  The show doesnt seem to get much hype but whatever.

Here's the trailer from season 1.

This guy agrees with you.

Rex reached the 100 episodes mark back in april when the season wound down, even though some people got some e-mails regarding extras work (but open to NL residents only) there has been no official word of season 7 but it's likely it's been bumped to midseason (which is fine because at least maybe there won't be any breaks and fans in the groups have been complaining about the breaks)

there is proof that season 7 is in production though which tells me it likely won't be airing til midseason
