Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

 

Anyone else into this?

 

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

 

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

 

House of Cards was tremendous.

 

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

 

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

 

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

very curious about all of this. I love YS..... the older actors (Craig T Nelson, Wally Shawn, Annie Potts, Ed Bagley) are so incredible....hilarious every time. And it's surprisingly dramatic.....the current storyline is fantastic. 

Curious if the BBT spinoff would be something completely different.... spun off from one of the other original characters maybe?

I noticed that Season 5 (final season) of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel launched on Netflix last night. Seemed that all episodes dropped at once, wish I had time this weekend to binge it.

Sure that one, when you don't have wired TV and stream everything all the different apps/ apks get a little confusing as to what you are watching on what.

I was kinda unsure about this when I heard it was a thing.....but this actually looks alright: 
 

 

I don't know I always considered the 911 shows on FOX to be kind of like a baywatch reboot (mostly for the weird things to be rescued from, and yet I felt like in an alternate universe Ryan Murphy would have been an EP on it)

Though I actually did catch a few episodes on Pluto TV while I was sick with the you-know-what virus...and for the love of god don't bring back Neely, bring back CJ, bring back Lani, bring back Newmie, bring back Caroline but please I never want to see Neely in this new series

Finally watched the first two eps of Barry final season. Really great.....well written, well acted, well directed.... and the first two eps were funnier than they've been in awhile. Really dug it and can't wait to see where this goes and how it ends.

any Lasso fans here? This week's episode, IMHO, is arguably the best in the entire series so far. Two weeks ago, after watching the Succession ep that we've all been waiting for, I said "this is the best episode of TV I've ever seen in my life", and after watching this week's Lasso I said "I've never enjoyed an episode of TV as much as I have this one"..... we're really in a golden age of prestige TV. 

And then there's people watching ******* reality shows........
