The TV Thread

Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

Anyone else into this?

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

House of Cards was tremendous.

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

Being valued at 200b helps.

Of course money helps, but it's more the fact that they refuse to evolve with the times.  Cable TV is in the past.  You need to work with a different format now.

I mean if they end up making a series out of a prequel....which reminds me, wasn't the Sopranos meant to just be a movie?

and someone throws a Trumper tantrum in 3....2......1

Been a while since his last show. I hope Adam Eget has not gone back to his old job.

You mean the one under the bridge?

So my PVR screwed up and didnt record the OJ confession.  But there is a video clip of the confession here:

http://www.tmz.com/2018/03/11/oj-simpson-confesses-murder-nicole-brown-simpson-ron-goldman-fox/

Its...well, its pretty wild.  Its clearly an admission (to me anyway).  He laughs nervously about this being hypothetical and at times almost seems to smirk about it.  He also forgets to keep up the hypothetical act and simply starts giving details in the first person.

And yet, he was still also clearly lying.  I dont believe "Charlie" exists.  That was Simpson's deluded way of making it Nicole's fault...that "something" was going on over at Nicole's (according to Charlie and the interviewer never asks what) and "it had to stop".  He also uses "Charlie" later as the one who brought the knife in, though Simpson admits he always kept a knife in his car ("because you cant travel with a gun") and admits to putting on the cap and gloves.  He says Ron Goldman explained he was there to drop off glasses (Simpson dismisses Ron as "I might have seen him around but didnt really know him").  Nicole comes out and they get into a verbal altercation where she tells him to F off (Simpson seems to imply this was an example of what had to be stopped, like how dare she speak to him that way).

Then it gets weird.  He says Nicole suddenly fell and hurt herself (almost surely Simpson actually hit her) and then Ron got in a karate stance.  Simpson is very specific about what he says and claims he grabbed the knife from "Charlie" and went towards Ron and then "can't remember" anything until coming to and being surrounded by blood.

I found it very chilling.

Has to be Steve, right?

I think I would rather have Steve back over a wrestler being silly (but then again it worked for the Rock, hey I loved the hell out of Moana)

Couple eps old but you can see where this is all headed. Frankly I think this season pretty much sucked which does not help.

Ryder & Habour remain at $350,000 per episode  kids get bumped to $250,000  teens get $150,000  and Millie Bobby Brown gets $250-$350,000

not bad

oh thank god everyone we gave the biggest crap about will be in the finale

http://tvline.com/2018/03/21/once-upon-a-time-jennifer-morrison-returns-series-finale-emma/

but for some reason it's going to be a two night event? why? what's wrong with a two hour special event where the last half hour has no commercial interruption (hey when ABC aired that Anne Frank tv movie the final hour had no commercial interruption at all)
