Hey don't insult us Single Wing Dudes - I was actually referred to as "the spinning back" on our H.S. team. And to boot the Iowa State Cyclones ran Single Wing until probably late 1960's.

Then we all upgraded to the Wing-T and Double Wing-T formations (thanks to Forrest Evashevski (Univ of Iowa Head Coach).

Auburn actually brought the single wing back for a hot minute 9 or 10 years ago.

I won the Alberta provincial pee wee championship in 2009 as a coach using the Wing T. I had a talented 12 year old qb. I adapted the playbook from the qb being a spinner to doing RPO which he picked up & read beautifully. There was so much misdirection that we easily racked up 300 yards rushing every game. We were extremely lucky as we had 4 outstanding running backs starting. starters. We  struggled the first couple of games going 2-3 But then going undefeated the rest of the way for the regular season, playoffs & championship game.

Excellent!!! Maybe the CFL can bring back these formations - heck  when the weather gets bad (say playoff times) a Wing-T or Single Wing formation might be something to think about.

With Streveler we should be using the Wildcat. We have an OC with a pee sized brain. And a Head Coach that is maybe the size of quarter. Move him & Zach around & Streveler can take direct snaps outside of the qb position in the Wildcat.

And you think a pea-brained OC is the guy to ochestrate that?

Can Streveler even orchestrate it tho. Honestly. Dude had 1 run last week and 10 qb sneaks.

Are we really advocating that the solution to the issues the Bombers have with their back-up quarterback is to utilize an offense that had its day in the sun in the NFL 15 years ago?

Streveler can't run? He did score a TD on the ground & looked good doing it last week. I think he's getting his legs back but his arm deserted him years ago.

I'm not sure it's reasonable to have an entirely different offensive scheme for your back up QB. If he was our main guy sure...do wild cat. But it just isn't feasible to ask every player on Offense to learn two schemes/playbooks depending on who is in at QB.

The scheme for Streveler would be part of the overall playbook. Just not the part zach would run. The problem isn't the change up of plays to suit Strev. It's his lack of reps in practice when Zach starts.  Streveler can't refine & polish up those plays so they work. It's like moving into a new house that may be livable inside as the water, plumbing, electricity & heat have been installed but the inside hasn't been finished or painted & there's no carpet on the floor. Just the basics so the plays are rough.

That one run was 36 yards. His other 10 runs that game combined was 36 yards.

he can’t run anymore.

Zach actually has the better rushing average this year. By double almost.

over 150 yards last 2 games...for a guy who cant run sure gets decent yards since he took off brace and is getting his full health back....imagine eh?

dont have to....you just need a playbook with roll outs...sprints,,,multiple motions...varied qb design runs...not just draws and runs up the gut....that is in it in general........and then use those plays accordingly....aka...have a complete full pro-ready playbook.

hate to nitpick you but what are u yammering on about...he's ran for 72...and 82 yards last 2 starts....combined 152...

he's ran for 260...ZC for 105.....also...remove all the qb sneaks from Strev's runs as well then and then do your recompute....we get it....you dont like him....move on...but if you wanna slag a guy...get your stats and metric right and also factor in situational plays
