Last season still mostly good (D in particular) but some more cracks showing. This season though age has fully caught up to them. 2022 team would have been a 1-2 loss team overall if they had a reliable kicker. rebusrankin, Noeller, BigBlueFanatic and 3 others 2 4
17to85 Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Worst thing to happen was losing 2022 cup by 1 point with collaros being injured. They ran it back one too many times, which of course everyone was all in favour of, but with the benefit of hindsight... Tracker and Bigblue204 1 1
Goalie Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Collaros Brady Demski Schoen Bryant Kolo Neufeld (Eli) Thomas Willie Kyrie Kramdi Nichols Holm and Parker. Those are the guys, maybe I’m missing 1 or 2 but those are the guys who been around the longest now. it’s not that many really and 7 are Canadians so really there has been change. Lots of it honestly. Let’s add Gauthier to make it 8 and cadawallader who I’m hoping is Canadian. So 9 or so Canadians and maybe 9 imports. Less than half the squad. Edited 13 hours ago by Goalie
Goalie Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Collaros and Nichols are struggling vets currently. Demski on fuego. Brady is being underused. Schoen is hurt. Bryant is hurt. Kolo sucks. Neufeld is capable most games. Thomas? Yeah it’s not his fault really. Willie? With less reps he got better, what a concept. Kyrie? He’s been ok. Kramdi? Despite the narrative you can do worse as a starting Canadian. I mean we have 2 on our roster who are worse I dunno. Besides Zach and the vet DBs and Jake who isn’t really struggling, that’s Just Jake, I’m not sure if the vets are that bad really. It’s almost like 1 guy on O and maybe 3 or 4 mainly in the DB field on D that are regularly sucking. The one guy on O tho is the QB so that’s a problem. Edited 13 hours ago by Goalie

My only real issue with Kramdi is his salary and big play making ability. He just doesn't make the big play, like ever. He's solid. But I want a dominate Sam in there, not someone who is just not going to screw up that much. Dr Zaius, Booch and Piggy 1 3
rebusrankin Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago With Kramdi, he can lay a good hit but 151 k if he meets all his bonuses (145k hard money) is too much. Nichols for example is a 3 time all star and he makes less. Bigblue204 and Piggy 1 2

So old qb not playing to the level he was... old OL which is crap compared to it's hey day and dl which is crap compared to its hey day.... so yes age is catching up to this team. Used to win by dominating the lines of scrimmage but now they get their asses kicked on the LOS game in game out. Bigblue204 1
ShyGuy Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Are we talking about holdovers from the 2019, 2021, or 2022 Grey Cup Quote Collaros Brady Demski Schoen Bryant Kolo Neufeld (Eli) Thomas Willie Kyrie Kramdi Nichols Holm and Parker. If we are talking 2022, that list is missing Hallett, Cadwallader, Gauthier, Benson and Lawson. Further back there is some churn because Castillo was around in 2021 and is back, same as Streveler. So you are looking at almost half the roster that has lost 3 grey cups with the team... and then a couple more guys who have won at least once before that. Looking at the list of guys on my post... that is a lot of life-time special teamers that are really no threat to take any snaps on defense. Maybe there is a lot of opportunity lost there in getting athletic dude who can play teams and then can transition to the defense. If that doesn't happen, cut loose and find the nice athletic guy who could make a difference one day.

SAM should be one of your best....if not best all around LB/DB's....impactful and uber athletic...Kramdi is none the above...solid player in a role and depth...But as a starter....we can do wayyyy better for a smaller pricetag Same can be said for MLB...T.Jones in same boat as Kramdi...that good depth tole guy but not the everydown starter...too many holes tho he likely isnt making a lot....which doesn't really make it better tho 9 minutes ago, ShyGuy said: Are we talking about holdovers from the 2019, 2021, or 2022 Grey Cup If we are talking 2022, that list is missing Hallett, Cadwallader, Gauthier, Benson and Lawson. If that doesn't happen, cut loose and find the nice athletic guy who could make a difference one day. thats what is hurting us...there is a difference between depth of roster....and depth of ability We employ too many guys that basically are just used for special teams, and target them as such...as opposed to guys who can actuallyb play but due to actual depth...cant push out an established guy and are relagated to ST's...theres a big difference in that We have to change the way we go about rostering as it seems if a guy we seem to think isnt good enough to win a spot over an established guy...or older vet...we basically jut cut bait or let them waste on the PR because we are fine with our ST plugs who only fill that role...part of that problem is our draft philosophy....and our bias toward vets and long tenured guys rebusrankin and Bigblue204 2
Brandon Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago As a casual observer... it just feels like we can't recruit like what we used to recruit. OR O'Shea used to give these new guys a chance and nowdays they are ignored and not given a chance. 3 - 5 years ago every off season we always were worried on what awesome players we are going to lose to free agency. After this season who in the hell is going to sign our free agents (outside of Hamilton)? We have lots of dead weight. rebusrankin 1
Goalie Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Getting Wilson back would be good. Maybe even Dakota Shepley for OL help. Wilson Wheatfall Mitchell (just play the dumb ass) Demski Clercius. Corcoran. Solid group.
