Looks as though TSN has pulled some of the Pre-Season games

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=508

IIRC 6-7 Pre-Season games were going to air originally and now we're down to 2, very disappointed by this. From my understanding, the games were pulled in favour of "expanded" NBA playoffs coverage and a Rocky Movie.

this is such a brutal thing to see.. I'd hope that the CFL fans blow up the inbox of TSN with angry emails. How do you say something like "yea we got em all!" to uh, naw, just 2..

Such a damn shame (especially with the interest in the CFL growing) ..

Crap.

I was looking forward to watching those.

I was kind of expecting this to happen, honestly.

Doesn't surprise me one bit.

We keep forgetting that TSN is the Toronto Sports Network.

if that were true, you'd think a Toronto game might have been televised...

...hell, our preseason game at Varsity isn't even licensed!

email them and tell them you want the Bombers pre-season games back.

Yeah what does this have to do with Toronto? The Raptors aren't playing are they? I think it's just TSN being ******-bags.

So infuriating...especially as the sole rights holders. And its not even getting bumped for something big like a Cup game.

It's more about the costs associated with broadcasting live sports. TSN is being cheap and not wanting to shell out. It's MUCH cheaper to air a movie or some other crap...

then just DO that, and don't say you are going to broadcast the games, then change your mind a week before. That's just bullshit.

Agreed 100%....no clue why they'd do that.

This is what you get when the CFL has a contract with just one television network. They can do what they want...

Here's the NBA finals schedule:

Game 1 - June 6

Game 2 - June 9

Game 3 - June 11

Game 4 - June 13 - 1 CFL preseason game

If Necessary

Game 5 - June 16

Game 6 - June 18

Game 7 - June 20 - 3 CFL preseason games

There is no reason a CFL preseason game couldn't be on TSN2 when the NBA games are on.

What makes this strange is last season's preseason games had pretty good ratings. Some games had higher ratings than the NBA finals.

TSN potentially has one NHL game scheduled if the Kings/Hawks goes to 7 games with the Bombers game on June 12.

I believe TSN only shows the first 3 games of the Chi/LA game, and then everything shifts to CBC...

You're right. I forgot about that.

Slap in the face to all CFL fans. The fans the network claims to respect.

While it's lame that they went back on their word, the honest truth is that the pre-season games on TSN kinda suck, because they have no clue about any of the players and anything that's happened in camp. It's nice to have a visual, but the actual broadcast kinda sucks. I'd just as soon listen to Irving, who followed camp completely and knows all the storylines.

But seeing the game on TV and trying to sync the radio is better. ;)

Definitely, but the most important aspect of the game (to me at least) is that you get a full game's worth of tape to watch and re-watch. At no point do I wonder what Glen Suitor thinks of our players.

Who wants to watch Rocky when you can rent it? Or Caddyshack or the other crap they show like Yougblood.

TSN cuts back pre-season broadcasts to 2 games -- both involving EDM. Great service to Edm fans. It might be best 2 Esks outings this season

At least everyone can see how well Reilly does.

Just goes to show how cheap TSN really is, it seems to me that this has to due with production costs, which they save by airing NBA, Boxing, and movies.

It should be noted that only the final two NBA championship games last season were able to beat CFL Pre-season games in terms of tv ratings, IIRC the last two games received 600k and 900k, while CFL preseaon games beat games 1-4 with ratings between 325k-580k.
