Curious if this becomes a thing...

What If: Iron Man: Demon in an Armor

In What If: Iron Man: Demon in an Armor, Tony Stark is Doom's college roommate rather than Reed Richards, inspiring Doom to develop a machine that allows him to transfer his mind into Stark's body while leaving Stark trapped in his body with no memory of his past. While Doom uses Stark's connections and company to establish himself, the amnesic Stark- believing himself to be Doom- works to rebuild his life, creating his own company and forming his own reputation from the ground up. This culminates in a confrontation between the two wearing early versions of their respective armors- Doom having developed a green-and-silver Iron Man armor while Stark has created Doom's costume with gold and a red cloak-, during which Doom reveals the truth about their switch, only for Stark to reject the offer to switch back because Doom has destroyed the name of Tony Stark while Doctor von Doom has developed an honorable reputation

They could go that route but the fact that they introduced him as Victor Von Doom leads me to believe they will treat it as a separate character. They have a Disney+ show called "what if" to do what you're talking about.  The demon armor scenario would have him playing Tony Stark again (just with Dooms personality).

They could use the multiverse and make Doom a variation of Stark (ex: in another universe, that version of Tony Stark is adopted as a baby and raised as Victor Von Doom). Same person physically but different personality because of how he was raised.

I was wondering why RDJ would bother doing another Marvel movie....  and then I read about him getting 100 million+ to play Doom....  wowza~!

I'm guessing this is a last ditch effort hail mary to bring back interest in Marvel movies since Disney ran everything into the ground.

From what I've read, F4 and the X-Men are the most important property Marvel has left and their last "trump card" that's remaining. They can't **** this up or they have nothing left... So they're pulling out all the stops.

I had relatively high hopes for this... Really enjoyed the trailer. Hoping it lives up...

All this talk and honestly I have no idea what is even happening. There's no cohesive story building toward Doomsday. I just watched the newest Cap Murca the other day  (actually quite enjoyed it, even though it's basically a direct sequel to Norton's Hulk movie) and still have no idea what's happening.

They've got some heavy lifting to do with Thuderbolts and F4 this summer...

I'm more excited for the new video game then for any of the upcoming movies.   This looks like a lot of fun.
