Tucker Carlson??  Tucker ******* Carlson?!!!! That guy might be the biggest asshat that has ever lived.  Nothing he spouts can be considered ‘information’.

In my head, 7.5 seems high but I think the rates are going up and that's just what you pay guys now... I really like rh buy but he just can't stay healthy and he's slow as mud.

30 goal guy. 7.5 seems right.

id suggest 5.75 to 6 for Samberg and yup. Good to go.

10.5 in cap means maybe room for a move or 2 still even with Samberg.

It also is on the high side for what hes done so far but I think the Jets see him as a point a game guy when healthy.

Evolving hockey who predicts contracts and aav had him at 8.6 x 6 years so jets got a bargain here. 7.5 is the going rate for 60 to 70 points.

fun fact.

Vilardi 61 points last year. 7.5 aav - career high points  71 games  played

Ehlers 63 points last year. 8.5 aav. 1 point off his career high of 64 back in year 2 of his jets career. 69 games played

We've had great success in signing players who have played here either through being drafted or traded for.  Its free agency with guys who have never played here that we struggle.

Turns out you get them here and they love it. Getting them here is the issue. There’s a perception about Winnipeg that lots of us think is reasons but turns out hunting fishing and the outdoors is very popular with rich people and the younger guys who just want to play hockey and that’s it, well this is the ideal place for them. I personally don’t want players who can’t deal with the equivalent of 2 weeks really of very cold temperatures. The rest of the time is your typical northern winter. No different than Chicago Minnesota or Wisconsin. Edmonton on average is colder in the winter than we are recently (last 5 years)

May be an image of text that says 'Ken Wiebe @WiebesWorld 32m The arbitration hearing for #NHLJets D Dylan Samberg has been scheduled for July 30.So a bit of a deadline here. Expecting the deal to be done before that.'

So when will his number hang in the rafters? (I'm aware he didn't retire a Jet but then again neither did most of the 1.0 players aside from Thomas Steen)

WELCOME TO THE ALUMNI FAMILY! Congratulations to Blake Wheeler on officially joining the Winnipeg Jets Alumni and Friends community. More importantly, how did Ray Neufeld get in?

Probably next season or later on this upcoming one but my guess is next season. 2026 2027.  First 2.0 guy to go in and honestly would be fitting. Dude did and still does lots in the community and gave his all every night here for real. Still provides scholarships at my daughter’s dance. And still shows up with his wife and daughter and son at times. Have seen him the last 3 June recitals now eventho doesn’t live here but does still own a home here. Spoke with him once. Really nice guy. Wife very friendly. Sam. Very friendly. Always so nice and smiley. Saw her more than Blake but yeah. Both tremendously good people.

Sorry for the semi necro-post, but is anyone here familiar with getting stitching done on a blank jerseys? I bought one of these and had it delivered recently... Now I need to get the name/number/etc on it. Can I just take this to the Jets store at the arena and they do it there?

I know the jets store uses All Canadian Emblem in the exchange. Or did but not sure if they're open to the public or not. Or still being used. But people used to go to uptown sports but that prob doesn’t exist anymore as it was at portage place. Royal sports on pembina does stitching also.

I was curious and Googling told me your best bet is the Jets Store & Uptown Sports(now on Sterling Lyon Parkway) which hands off to ACE.

Other options...
Royal does numbers only on jerseys they sell
   River City Sports
   Sportchek
   Joe Daleys

If the Jets Store does it, then to the Jets Store I shall go when next in in the city....

Not a problem. Just wanted to make sure there was someplace that did it. All good on turnaround time.

Could send it to me but then my name will be on the back and 69 will be the number.

May be an image of text that says 'UNITED A Murat Ates @WPGMurat … The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms with defenceman Dylan Samberg. The deal is three years, $5.75 million AAV. Murat Ates @WPGMurat· 7m Hearing the #NHLJets have agreed to terms with Dylan Samberg 6:25AM 2025-07-3 from Earth 15 Views'

Bit of an overpay given only 3 years of term IMO. With Connor, Perfetti, and Lowry all due new contracts next year, and Morrissey and DeMelo also up when this new Samberg contract expires, hopefully this amount doesn’t hinder any of those contract negotiations. Either that or the salary cap projections had better be accurate

Maybe but still better than losing him to an Ehlers like FA next July 1. Gives him time to develop more, and the Jets time to see where they want to go.

That’s more than I was expecting and I would have liked to see the term be longer.  I’m sure Chevy knows what he’s doing, but these last couple of deals he seems a bit anxious.
