  • Yeah Colorado is the "weak link" in the Central division and they still have a .500 record and a positive goal differential.  Tough divvy. 6 points in 23 games for Duchene since he arrived.  18

  • I feel bad for their fan.

Samesies until you lose.

Good news, even though I've liked the way Poolman has been playing lately.

The Avs have been pretty good through their last 10 (6-3-1) are riding a two-game win streak. Hopefully, the Jets can serve 'em up a nice L in Denver tomorrow.

LOL?  Who cares if it's a central team.  Mason is supposed to be an NHL goalie, so who cares what division the other team is playing in.

With how well Helle is playing, we may not see Mason again until the back-to-back against the Wild and Blackhawks next weekend.

Yeah, I'd be surprised to see Mason rotate in if Helle continues to play this way unless its back to back.  Maurice doesnt like to go too long without starting the back up and the back to backs would seem to be the right timing.

Cant be surprised Helle starts again after posting a shut out and having a day off.

Yeah and the next few games are spaced out a bit.... tonight, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday.  So the next four might go to Helle and then give Mason the Blackhawks on Jan 12, then back to Helle on the 13th.  We'll see.

Buff in, Poolman out for tonights game.

Not a surprise given Buff's previous work with Chiarot. I hope Poolman gets to play again soon.

Mason sucks against the central. Helle owns the central. Helle is also 21 4 and 5 on the year.

Huh? Maurice Def rides the starter... Id have thought the last few years has shown that big time.

Well... that and his entire coaching career...

For sure. I just thought id keep it to the Jets tho.. Ill be honest.. Im not sure if 28 yr old rookie coach with the Whalers Maurice or Hurricanes coach or leafs coach is really relevant today.

When you actually look at the rosters of Maurice coached teams... They have all been ****... Except for his Jets tenure and even then his first full year here...they were pretty **** like compared to the talent they have today.

???
So you are saying that he plays poorly against teams based on their geography?  Seriously?

He's played one game vs. the Central this season and made 28 saves while posting a .933SV%, so what are you talking about? (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/m/masonst01/gamelog/2018)

I agree with you on Hellebuyck absolutely dominating the Central, though. Not just this season but last season, too.

Kind of like how Helle 'always' loses against Edmonton...

If we agree that points within the division are most valuable, it stands to reason you play your starter against those teams.  Helle it is.

I was also under the impression that Colorado sucked this year but it appears that getting rid of Matt Duchene solved that problem.

Sens have been terrible since he arrived.

6 points in 23 games for Duchene since he arrived.  18 points in 23 games for Turris in Nashville.  Oh yeah the Sens also gave up their first rounder this year, their 3rd rounder in 2019, Andrew Hammond, and Shane Bowers who was their first round pick in 2017.

Disastrous trade.
