Restaurant/food thread

So anyone go anywhere good lately, with iHop opening on monday (surely this one will be better than the one in grand forks service wise) I'm kind of wondering if anyone has been anywhere decent recently

a month ago I went with my friends to canadian brewhouse.....man that was a good burger but a word to the wise, do not get an appetizer if you also plan on getting the John Candy Burger it's the second most expensive thing there...but man those garlic fingers were excellent, but there were more than I thought so I asked "anyone want to share my fingers?" which they gladly did

I can assure you that the John Candy Burger is nothing like whatever John Candy like item that Rumors Comedy Club has....it was just two patties compared to the Rita Challenge

I'm not sure if anyone has made a restaurant thread yet so I'm just leaving this here

*one google later* Burrito Splendido

Burrito Splendido moved out a few months ago,  I believe they are moving to a larger location in the area.  No idea on the address as of yet.

Going on the Crumbl site...  $6 -$8 per cookie!!   I wish them luck but I can't imagine that place staying open for long.   Several other bakeries/cupcake places have opened and closed recently in the area.

When I used to work downtown I would get Cookies By George,   those were always a hit.   Those were "gourmet" cookies and considered expensive at $3.00 per cookie.  Oh Doughnuts the same at around $4 per doughnut.       This is double the price and it's only a cookie.  Those cookies better be the size of a small pizza at those prices....

They are decent sized but still not for me at that price point.

Interesting that the Winnipeg franchises have a Bombers connection.  Owners are Kristina Bighill and Paulina Coombs (Anthony's wife).

I sure hope it is near Transcona.

Famous Dave's has gone from good to really bad over the last several years and the Belle's place is not our cup of tea.      I really miss the days of Loveys :(

I hope so too.  At one point, Rob kicked tires on what is now Belle's Kitchen so he's definitely wanted to come to this way for a while.  Fingers crossed that he can find a place that works but either way, anywhere it the city will be better than driving out to Steinbach.

Yup. Lovey's was pretty good. I used to really like Famous Daves but its turned into overpriced dogs**t over the last few years.

When it first opened it was really good.  Decent sized portions for both the adult and kids meals and everything was above average.

The last two times we went the service was extremely slow to a point where I had to find the server to see if they had forgotten our order.   The meat was dried out and the portions were extremely frugal.  My adult meal was smaller then what they used to serve as kids meals.

RIP Roger, I knew him back in his days as a Nike sales rep. One of the kindest people I have ever known.

HolyShakes is coming to Winnipeg and it looks like it's going into St Vital centre and it looks like it's going to be a bit of a rip-off of DSpot (I'll take it because DSpot is difficult to get to) judging by what we see on the menu. Though what does annoy me is that it's going to become difficult for me to make a decision about what I want to eat at that mall (way too many options)
