Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

I think most of us knew this would not be a slam dunk. The end of trump always seemed more likely on degeat and prosecution via SDNY.

Congress will strongly consider impeachment and now the battle will be over the full report which they will use as evidence.  But I’m not sure that’s the best idea.  But politics aside you have a criminal president so it really is the role of congress to impeach. 

I'm glad the GOP is behind releasing the full report. I'm sure AG Barr will get it over to the hill Monday. 

Mueller was hailed as a god- send and crusader for truth by # Resistance types, sympathetic media, and NeverTrumpers who lashed out at critics for it taking so long and having it so open-ended as either Trump collaborators or dumb info wars types.

They cannot  turn around now and say investigation was ham-strung because they didn't get the result they yearned for and in some cases conspired to get.

Convictions that had nothing to do with collusion which the investigation was established to find.

It found penny ante corruption but that's not what the Resistance and NeverTrumpers were interested in.

Which is why they are scrambling for a new narrative now.

I don't know how much of the report is going to be handed over after it has been scrubbed, this all will be going into hearings in the House where both Barr and Mueller will be called to testify, that's when the fireworks will happen. SDNY will be the major player going forward and Trump has more to fear in that investigation that mere collusion, which like he said is not a crime.

So the guy Trump put in charge wont charge him eventho it says plain as day he wasn't exonerated? Shocking. As a Canadian IDGAF but its pretty obvious this isnt over by a long shot.

Because special prosecutors do not "exonerate". They either present evidence for criminal prosecution or say there is none. Mueller did the latter.

There are already cracks appearing in AG Barr's summary and he will be called in to testify, AG Barr who wrote an opinion piece against the special counsel better be on the up and up with his summary and conclusion or he will get crucified.

A paper who took at least a mild interest in the investigation and the legal fate of Trumps presidency iirc.

Besides, I fail to see how they "lost". everyone is losing their **** over a 4 page summary on a 18 month investigation and no one even knows what  the actual scope of the investigation was.

 

I am just waiting to see what the report actually says and see what type of interesting things come up in the next year... should be crazy.

For over two years mainstream political media staffed almost entirely of Resistance and NeverTrumpers deliberately peddaled "walls are closing in on Trump" stories to gaslight people into believing the Collusion story had a factual foundation.

It was a lie cooked up by corrupt and partisan officals in the FBI, DOJ and CIA manipulating the system in order to get an investigation to find at least something to get Trump on. They failed.

Now the prospect of the microscope being turned on how it even got this far to begin with must be  terrifying proposition for all involved.

Nice try.  You can’t pretend the report says anything when no one has seen it and the summary was written by trumps hand picked AG. 

Even then. The info out there isn’t good for trump.

So you can see what is happening here.  There were many reports that the report was very damning for trump and he goes totally silent for days.  

They don’t want you to see the report.  Totally innocent though right?
