World Cup of Hockey

Scheif is on McDavid's line playing RW.

I will be watching as much as I can and will try not to miss any of Canada's or NA's games.

  • I think I watched about 60 minutes of World Cup hockey in total throughout the tournament.  And most of that was Team North America. I chose Jets preseason and Bengals-Dolphins Thursday Night Foo

  • My only point is that Eichel is a way better hockey player than Gaudreau, which is true, but they are both American, so they can both go **** themselves.

  • Like him or not but that Machand character has had a hell of a tournament.

Laine is on Finland's top line.

In other news, Finland is going to get stomped at this tournament.

Edit: Stomped is strong. They just won't win.

I think I'm cheering for the young guns team more than Team Canada, but I'll follow both relatively closely. As much as I think this tourney is a stupid POS cash grab, I'm pretty hockey starved at this point of the year, so I'm looking forward to watching the games..

Team Canada is going to steamroll the whole tourney.

Young guns team should be fun to watch, though.

Penne is G is he not?

Yes... Rask is there too.  They will have a decent top line and top 2 D but they don't have the depth.  But you never know.  Chemistry is funny and the Finns always seem to have it.

Yup young guns team is going to be fun to watch.

Only going to tune into the Finn games to see Laine.

Should be fun to see how much McDavid elevates Sheifele's game.

I don't know how much I'll watch... very little to none probably but I'd say that Team North America is by far the most skilled and talented team overall. Their D is somewhat of an issue but... it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Team NA steamroll tons of teams

I'm not really interested but wtf else is on.

There's always that one big name guy who gets injured at these things.

Team NA more skilled and talented than Canada?  Ummmm NOPE.

Yeah, McDavid is the only guy on that roster who would have a chance to make Team Canada. Maybe Gaudreau, if he was Canadian...

The Russians have more skill as well, they just seem to suck as a team.

Eichel is twice the hockey player Gaudreau is.....**** that kid.

More interested in watching the Penticton Young Stars Tourney.

I'm sure that opinion is 100% unbiased coming from an Oilers fan.

Regardless, it's true.

It's not, at least not yet, but that wasn't really the point anyway.

How many guys on the kids team do you think could crack the Canadian roster, assuming for this that they were all eligible?

Holy moly is there ever a huge speed difference between Team NA & Team Europe.

I can't figure out how McJesus handles the puck that we'll while skating that fast. He's not even human....

Dating?

Edited for shitty typing on my phone. Tho, it's Edmonton.... Funny things happen...

That entire NA team has tons of speed and talent. They are gonna do some damage.

They'll be the most exciting team for sure. Their gameplan seems to be balls to the wall for the entire sixty minutes. What will be interesting is how they do when they play a team that can counter that aggressiveness. They made mistakes that the European team wasn't good enough to capitalize on.

Also, I felt a little sad watching Chara look so bad out there. The guys a hall of famer, but he's pretty much done now.

Gaudreau and Mackinnon were the best players on the ice last night

Schief and McDavid playing together -  I hope that's a combo we see at the Olympics for years to come.

Team Canada Lost 4 2 to Team USA

Canada looked good tho but Quick was pretty much on fire. Think Canada has some work to do.

Buff looked pretty good for the US. Wheeler did not.

I guess one thing to keep in mind here.... this is probably the first time a lot of these guys have skated at this pace cuz it was quick paced for sure in a long time. Wheeler is also a notoriously slow starter to the season.

Team NA doing some roster juggling

Eichel and Goudreau with McDavid

Matthews and can't really recall... maybe Mackinnon with Scheif at center
