  1. And that's the situation Rourke didn't want. He's not going to walk on a team and supplant a starter. He needed a spot that would give him the opportunity to compete for the #2. It's also important that you don't go somewhere where the coaching staff is going to be fired mid-season. You pick the team with the worst starting QB and that's exactly what will happen.
  2. Have to have success first. We paid value to bring guys in, but they've taken less to stay to "run it back". It's definitely not easy to sustain.
  3. I don't doubt that Rourke would stay if he wasn't presented a real opportunity. But at this point, with the amount of workouts and offers, the ability to chose the best fit/opportunity, it seems obvious that there's a path to success. So, the league has probably lost him for a couple of years at least.
  4. Walters all but confirmed Demski and Jeffcoat on WST today. Admitted most of these contracts have been in place for a long time and just staggering releasing them.
  5. Not completely ideal to develop a guy for so long and lose him in his prime, but it is what it is. Haven't heard much out of draft picks lately. Who are our up and comers?
  6. They still may be the team able to offer him the largest contract. Cornelious et al must be the lowest paid QB room in the league.
  7. I don't know if it's possible to pit the Bombers against anyone... Walters offers what is budgeted and if another team goes beyond that, we're usually comfortable saying "thanks but no thanks".
  8. They'll probably end up getting stuck with Evans as the least QB and team still standing around, but there is no way BLM goes to Regina.
  9. We're just going to walk all over the West again.
  10. He truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
  11. Absolutely on both. Ottawa and Toronto if they lose Gittens.
  12. The question is, what's his price to reconsider, and are there other clubs willing to hit that point?
  13. The only reason I'm worried about Darby is because that's how it played out last season. I hope he's more of a priority this season but we've also shown an incredible ability to scout DBs. The only reason he was even needed this past season was the number of injuries (which led to uncovering a lot of depth).
  14. Yoshi is guaranteed. I'm not super sure about Grant and Darby - just because salary cap. I feel good about Grant though, probably just looking for NFL opportunities last year.
  15. It feels like him signing elsewhere means he wasn't happy with his lack of usage late in the season. I honestly don't see anything sinister here. I think he wasn't as good as most believe - he just had a couple of sacks early so people got overhyped - and when he had to get sit down for his growing deficiencies he was FIFO'd.
  16. Agreed, but that said, no reason not to move games around a little bit - especially for a team like the Argos whose attendance is balls.
  17. I think Buck is a great counter point to your suggestion. Buck spent two years as RB coach before getting to move up to QB coach for an additional four years before getting his shot at OC. I'm pretty sure that if Allen was willing to start at the bottom, he would have had his shot. At this point in his life, maybe that isn't in the cards.
  18. So Hodge and Dunk spouting some nonsense about MOS and Walters having a disconnect and Miller wanting to move on from Walters. Just throwing crap at the wall at this point.
  19. In a wild turn of events, the headline is LESS inflammatory than the actual quote, which states that they "WOULD win a Grey Cup [with CoFaj at QB]", not could.
  20. I can't say I agree, my biggest wish/desire is more QB talent in the league. I want to see Zach battling against the best.
