1. Sorry Blutes, gotta give it to the teams that get 30+ at summer home games.
2. Clear attempt to artificially balance the East/West records. We play each Western team 3 times and only TO and OTT once.
3. Well, I disagree - I think it's a huge factor. People don't want to move after a year, and especially when it's practically guaranteed.
4. There's a reason the only guy who (might) take it is a younger guy who's already on the team.
5. Jake Thomas is 32 guys. In terms of our "aging vets", he's not even in the top 10 of our oldest players. Like others have mentioned, we have been actively recruiting young Canadian DTs. Jake remains an important piece - on and off the field.
6. That's not spin. They know the whole staff is getting fired at the end of 2023. Why would anyone walk into that?
7. Yeah, just all his bad injury luck prevented him from getting full seasons. All counts for his career number though.
8. Collaros just needs some longevity. His current contract puts him at 5 seasons with us (shortened season notwithstanding), which is kind of my personal minimum for "all time" honours.
9. You are absolutely right, but Allen always pops out for me because of his rushing ability. To be top 3 in both passing and rushing in league history is absolutely ridiculous.
10. I don't think anyone puts Glenn in the list.
11. It's the argument behind absolute best talent - but left for the NFL (Flutie and Moon). And the best pure CFL guy, so accumulated more CFL stats (Allen, Calvillio, Ray, Dunigan). Throw in team/generational biases on top of that. For my money, Ray is the best to do it.
12. I mean, I wouldn't argue it, but his stats throw him in the conversation.
13. That is fair. Calvillio is also arguably the greatest QB in the history of the league and a local legend - is that the criteria a POC needs to fill for an outside shot? I do not know what Archambault's heritage is. I don't imagine he has any shot though. I simply got to say - from a competitive and diversity stand point, Danny should have cast a wider net. It looks like the old Popp teams where he's hiring someone to fail so he can take over again. And again, a lot of people weren't happy when Jones was fired. The reasoning wasn't sound. And his candidates to replace Jones look to have the same discipline issues in their past as Jones - so what is Danny hoping for?
14. As much as I love both, I don’t know if I expect either to be back.
15. And something like that may be exactly what’s happening. But it’s all..whatever will be, will be. I have zero concerns about Walters. How they manage it is above our heads and kept completely private until they announce it.
16. They were saying the same thing MOS's contract last week.
17. I 100% believe it exists, but maybe Walters expects it to bump up a bit?
18. **Shrugs** The operations cap is the reason we can keep these guys together. It's not like anyone else can offer significantly more.
19. Don’t love the optics of firing a black coach for a perceived “lack of discipline” and then only interviewing the white staff of that same undisciplined team while adding on the least disciplined coach in recent memory.
20. If it's next season, Lapo seems like the most likely candidate (as much consternation as that may cause around here). But Kevin Bourgoin seems to be following the Buck path of moving through our offensive coaching ranks.
21. I thought about that too. As repugnant as it sounds, if the Riders clear the decks and hire a competent GM that Buck respects, he’d have the opportunity to do what KW and MOS did here. The only succession plan I can see in Winnipeg is Jordan Younger taking over once Richie decides to hang them up.
22. https://twitter.com/MoEgger/status/1600881498000859137?s=20&t=gjFFjZoL-GPfWP2B4Ow9Ag

O'Shea's 20 wins away from passing Bud Grant as the franchise's all-time winningest coach:

Grant: 102
Cal Murphy: 86
O'Shea: 82

A record he'll certainly have the opportunity to break before this new contract is up.
— Skylar Peters (@SkylarAPeters) December 8, 2022
(Imagine a tweet that shows MOS as 20 wins behind Bud Grant's record) 20 wins away...
