  1. To be honest, I don't hope it's the first of many. Less is better, it is more of an honor that way. That's my opinion anyway.
  2. I really wish they sold those old "W" hats at the Bomber store still.
  3. Count me in. For setting your roster week by week could we submit a couple weeks in advance in case we will be away for a while? For example I'm going on a road trip mid-July so could I set my roster in advance for 2 weeks or something like that?
  4. After practice I was going to buy my park & ride pass however they told me that they don't have them ready yet, and that the exhibition game is free. Passes will be available starting on Monday.
  5. I have serious doubt that there will be a game on Monday. I don't think anybody truly knows how this is going to play out, which is scary for us fans. I have held a great deal of optimism on the subject until the past few days with the deals getting rejected quickly. That to me makes it seem like they are still miles (KM) apart.
  6. Second half was all special teams. FG kicking was pretty much even, maybe a slight edge to Maher. Hajrulahu missed a short one. Punting was pretty much even, maybe a slight edge to Hajrullahu. He seemed to have more hang time. Kickoffs were pretty much even. Both guys were getting good distance on their kicks on a consistent basis which is something we haven't seen here over the past how many years. All of this "pretty much even" stuff is not good for the Yankee.
  7. After the first session here are my thoughts: -Willy has looked sharp (other than one bad sequence where he underthrew wide open TDs back to back. -Hall and Marve should be 2-3 respectively. Brohm's struggles aren't getting any better. He's very innacurate. -I know, I know, it's early but I predict Paris Cotton will be our staring tailback by labour day at the latest. This guy really stands out. -Aaron Woods could be a great weapon on offense this year. He's getting open. -Don Unamba is everywhere. Looks like a younger, faster Klint Kent with his hair covering up the #41. -Korey Banks was among the DBs sitting out. -I liked what I saw from Nzegwu on the d-line. He broke through and put some major pressure on the QB a few times. -Suber has looked like an experienced veteran out there today. Great coverage, positioning, forced a fumble. I'm sticking around for the second session so I'll give some more input later.
  8. It's just something I noticed that we don't have. Everyone else does so it makes me wonder why. That's all. What good s a forum if you can't pose these kinds of questions?
  9. I think if you do it right it's fine. You have to distinguish a true upper echelon. Some teams go crazy with it. Montreal is a special case though, same with the Yankees. I imagine one day they will have to un-retire their numbers before they have to hit triple digits. Side note; I love what Michigan started last year, they select players to wear their all-time greats' numbers from year to year in honour of the old player. I think that would only work well at the college level though based on their large turnover every year. In the pros I can see it getting ridiculous. (can't have a new receiver wearing 85 every year!) So I would never want that, just thought I'd mention it here.
  10. I noticed the same thing, and it seems like it would be an awesome time if you can afford to drop that kind of money on a single game. I would describe them as rum hut luxury suites.
  11. I was at rookie camp (day 2) and both sessions today and Hajarulahu looked awful both days. I mean awful, wide-right more often than not. Today I was specifically commenting on punting, not FGs. I agree that Hajarulahu has had difficulty with FGs beyond 40 yards to date. Penton seems to agree with me re punting today: @PentonKirk: The #Bombers kicking battle looks like it's going to be a good one. All three hoofing them pretty good today. Yeah I was definitely pulling for the Canuck in the FG battle. You can't have an import only do one of the two, and you can't have any kicker not placekick well.
  12. I really don't think that it's money is holding them back, how much would it cost to slap a few names and numbers somewhere. Juran, yeah those flag-sticks are comical now, especially since there's only nine of them. It would indeed be nice to have that display in the future.
  13. I must say I am disappointed that the club has not yet incorporated any kind of tribute to our past via a ring of honour, or some sort of display. Nearly every sports stadium on the continent does this, and with 10 Grey Cups to go along with some great former players who have their numbers out of circulation I don't understand how we have never put them up. I noticed that the Pinnacle Club has the Grey cup years painted or stuck on, same with the Bomber store but who is going to see that? It would be nice to see 11, 85, 97 etc... and our championship years on display in the main bowl, like nearly every other team in North America. Does anybody know if there are plans to do this?

  15. The receivers that I thought stood out today were Jason Barnes and Mario Urrutia. The only one that stood out negatively was Braylon Bell (drops) which is too bad because his size is appealing (probably why I watched him a little closer than others.) Didn't focus my attention anywhere else specific other than the QBs, of course. Willy>Hall>Marve>(Yantz)>Brohm.
  16. I'm here. Focussing on the kicking battle, or should I say thumping. In about 15 minutes of kicking from the 35 yd-ish range Maher was hovering around 100% while Hajwhatver's numbers resembled a decent batting average.
  17. Sask has no need to trade up. Depth behind strength is what keeps teams on top, Taman isn't gonna make that move unless we screw up and offer something stupid.
  18. The 2009 Banjo Bowl was the worst thing I've ever seen as a Bomber fan. The Boltus game would be #2. As least with the Boltus game we didn't have to watch thousands of the other teams fans mock us in our own stadium. Labour day 2012 wins. Not a chance. It was a tough way to lose, but at least we were in the game the entire time and had something to cheer for. That game only sucked for the last two minutes.52-0 sucked for the whole game. Especially when you're surrounded by green.
  19. I knew we were in for a long afternoon after they banked in their first three points off the post. I think I heard De Angelis call it too.

  21. I'd be surprised if the home opener doesn't sell out too. Ottawa's first ever regular season game is here too, could draw a sellout. Does anyone know the discount that flex packs offer? I would imagine its not as much as season tickets.
