  1. I think he needs to go but who has the power to make him go? Gotta believe the owners (all of them) are on his side. Only media pressure i suppose would make him resign but the guy probably won't do that cuz just like all the owners in the NFL, his ego is too big to allow him to admit he ABSOLUTELY SUCKS.
  2. Sometimes even bomber fans get crapped on for having different opinions. It is what it is. It's a fan forum.
  3. They are excellent. Until November. No doubt about that. That does seem to be their only downfall, when games start to matter, they tend to crap the bed. But they aren't relying on Glen this year. Been going on for longer than glenn was there. It seems to be a trend of sorts in Calgary the last few years actually, very good to dominate regular season, crap the bed in the playoffs.
  4. Those are some interesting numbers right there... how can Edmonton be 6-1 vs. the east when the only team that has beaten them is Calgary? All three times they've played? Makes me wonder what other errors are in there. Yeah got that one wrong, bad math there... Not sure what i was looking at on the CFL site there to be honest, Just noticed that too... Calgary 7-0 Sask 4-2 Edmonton 6-0 BC 4-1 Wpg 5-1
  5. The Ravens, ladies and gents pic.twitter.com/Tier9kuNFC — Bruce Arthur (@bruce_arthur) September 19, 2014 Doesn't it really say all we need to know? It's not AP, it's rice and a little letter/ texts he was sent by the Ravens owner. These guys know what's going on, but they just don't care. IMO, it's all about winning, sure that's not what the note says but... reading between the lines, it's pretty obvious the only thing the owners care about is Winning. They don't care about anything else, Winning and trying to save face even when they knew full well what was going on the entire time. What a joke. NFL is a disgrace.
  6. Howard seems to have gotten better, not sure why some don't see that January hasn't had the greatest year out there either but he's been beat as much if not more than howard has been and Howard is the whooping boy it seems. Iso is right, it's lack of talent... Gotta ask yourselves an honest question, would any of these guys be starters on any other teams in the league? I'd wager to guess, maybe Morley because he seems to be a good centre and that's probably it. January is not the best Import Tackle in the league, Howard isn't either but has shown signs of improvement, if you don't have the best or 2nd best Import Tackle in the league, bring someone else in cuz the current guys aren't good enough. I'm not fooling myself here though, I know building the oline takes time, it's going to take more than one season, hell probably take more than 2 or 3 to get where we truly need to be in terms of offensive line depth but.... The tackle Positions, January should be very replaceable. Howard is still young enough that he can get better and he has gotten better as time has gone on, anyone refusing to admit that is just not being honest. As for grading Wylie, I give it an incomplete, i think he is here to evaluate and to let the team know who he feels is worth keeping and not worth keeping. I feel we will find this out in the off season, if we come back next season with the same group, we are in trouble but gotta trust wylie as he knows more about the oline than any of us on here combined.. Grade Wylie? Incomplete. But if forced in to grading him, I'd give him a B, because the oline has not got the quarterback hurt this year, willy hurt himself last game, that is a step up from the previous seasons. B with a little note saying, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken crap.
  7. They are excellent. Until November. No doubt about that. That does seem to be their only downfall, when games start to matter, they tend to crap the bed.
  8. I don't know if your tendency breakers should ever become tendencies. Believe someone posted it already but if you go to those guys more than once, they probably don't get open, they are left open because they aren't real threats, they don't have the speed to beat guys one on one, they are only open cuz the other teams lets them be open. Cuz those guys aren't gonna break 5 tackles and bust 50 yards down field to the house.
  9. I'm a fan of country, some of it is a bit too sappy for my liking but Luke Bryan, FLAGA line, those are some pretty good bands. I will admit that i think the music industry in general is in a downwards spiral, there are no nirvanas or aerosmiths or metallicas around any more. It's all this electronic crap where they don't even play a musical instrument. See, maybe it's just me but to be in a band, i always thought you had to play an instrument. I don't really care for todays music too much, but Country? Well, Compared to what is out there for the most part, it's not too shabby. Didn't watch but.... Don't mind country music these days. Didn't care for it when i was much younger. I feel sorry for todays generation of children to be honest because they don't even know what real music is. Give me The Beatles or Nirvana or Blind Melon or Alice In Chains or even Rage Against The Machine and Bad Religion over the crap that is out there now any day of the week. The Doors, Lynyrd Skynyrd.. Man, today.. it's all about "black widow baby" and stuff like that, Don't mind that song but it's just... it's not real music in my opinion.
  10. I watched parts of it, turned it off for good at 35-0 but... it is sort of surprising as the BUCS, yeah they are winless but they could have easily won their previous 2 games they played this year. Guess missing McCoy on D really hurt them? That is their leader, I feel for Lovie Smith though, just such a likeable coach.
  11. never any doubt IMO Fans name Ken Ploen best Blue Bombers quarterback http://bit.ly/Xx2mc9
  12. I like Pontbriand and Fitzgerald but... I think they are nothing more than good blockers and solid special teams players.. They are good foot soldiers i guess you can say but that's about it. I think Pontbriand is a very good special teams player and is also the captain, I think they are in the roles that suits their talent (or lack there of) the best. IMO, Fitzgerald is a very replaceable player on the team, Pontbriand? replaceable but not as much as he seems to be one of those heart and soul type of players and a leader.
  13. Dad never cheered for any other teams. Kind of ridiculous to say that he bandwagoned. Watch the big bang theory? If not, you should and pay attention to Sheldon, Mr 17 to 85 pretty much plays that role on here perfectly.
  14. bombers need BC to lose a couple games, dont matter which ones, starting tonight would be good.. But really, if they can beat BC in winnipeg in a few weeks, about a month really, then they control their own destiny, Bombers aren't out of things right now, not by a long shot, Think people are also forgetting that every other team in the west have played the eastern teams too. Calgary 7-0 vs the east Sask 4-1 vs the east Edmonton 6-1 vs the east BC 4-1 vs the east Wpg 5-1 vs the east Means that the majority of teams wins have come against the other division. Who knows what will happen when the western teams play the western teams more and I wouldn't write off teams like Toronto or Hamilton vs the western teams either, They aren't as bad as their records indicate they are. Injuries to the argos and ticats have really hurt them this season. Toronto took Calgary to the brink last week, Hamilton lost to them by like 3 points, Lost to edmonton in a game where their starting qb got hurt by less than a fg. Those teams can and probably will beat some of the western teams, and not just the bombers. Those teams can give fits to the other teams just as easily.
  15. No doubt about it, Kenny Ploen all the way. Too young, way to young to have seen him play but honestly, from the stories i was told about him back in his day, nobody comes close, maybe Indian Jack Jacobs but... that goes way back.
  16. Calgary is the team that you want to model yourselves after.. Canadian Depth, heck man, they had the best record in the league last year but had the first overall pick, Huff ain't playing around, why did he get that first round pick, outside of Desjardins stupidity, it's cuz Calgary has the depth at basically every position to make moves like that. Trade Gott? No problem, we will take Lavertu and still play Jones. Calgary is an example of what patience leads too. Depth Depth Depth, guys get hurt, guys come in, those guys get hurt, other guys come in. It took Huff years to get there, Calgary was in a bad place a few short years ago, Huff came in and changed things up and what you see now is what you get and what you get is probably the best team in the league all around, qb depth, rb depth, defensive depth, OL depth.. They are stacked. It took time but... look at them now. It wasn't too long ago that that oline lost tsoumpas to retirement. No tsoumpas? no problem.
  17. Like Mike said, we just brought in 2 last week, Pall and Pierre, but.... I think we need to realize this, and it kind of sucks but it is pretty much a rebuilding year for the team. Is one or 2 american players going to make a difference right now? Maybe but it's unlikely. Could we possibly discover a couple of gems? Maybe but again it's unlikely at this point in time. We are holding a couple private workouts on September 20 and 21 and I believe the other one is Oct 4. Buffalo Charlotte and somewhere else i believe so we are doing recruiting still. Can we find an Adam Bighill at one of these workouts? Maybe, but... probably won't know for sure until next training camp. The reality kind of is, what you see right now is what you get. I understand people want these guys to come in and dominate but that rarely to never happens, especially late in the year..Mike Sims Walker last year was somewhat of an exception and even then, he really had 1 good game and got hurt or something happened there. When the PR's expand, we will see guys brought in. Until then, it is what it is and think people just need to accept it right now. Would it be nice to find a dominant MLB or a dominant DE or DT, sure it would be... but i think the likliness of finding those guys right now, having them come in and make a huge impact is asking for a bit too much. Hey, we have been in every game this year really outside of the Edmonton game (where both teams played like crap) and last week where our starting QB got hurt, hell even then if our Offence could do something, we'd have had a chance. This team isn't as far off as some think they are but on the flip side they aren't as close as some think they are either. Give it an off-season, give it some time, Patience is difficult to have but it's needed right now. The only way to become dominant is to be patient. Quick fixes don't exist. As for Canadians, man, they are all long term/project players at this point in the season.
  18. Hawks Wings and Sharks for sure but... I'd be kidding myself if i said I didn't cheer for the Canadian teams to win when the Jets were gone. Seriously, I could watch any Canadian team play except the Leafs, Cant' stand them, Can't stand the CBC homer announcing for them, Just hated the leafs and still do. Honestly, they are the only Canadian team i would cheer against if they were playing an American team in the Stanley Cup Final.
  19. Whatever. Well, what do you expect when you make a ridiculous statement like comparing helle to pav after one friggin game. This is exactly what I expect from you, snarky bullshit when you don't like someones opinion. And personally I don't care about yours. Whatever.
  20. Actually it's in reference to Reverend Jim Jones and his cult followers. The analogy goes like this: People are so fanatic in their belief that they drank poisoned Kool-aid, even knowing what it was. It's a common analogy to describe fanatics. Do you understand now? That would make everyone on here a kool-aid drinker then because the word fan is short for fanatics. Thanks for the explanation though kool-aid drinker. It still doesn't really apply to a football forum though, I mean really, the bombers are now a cult? o'shea is some cult leader? You do realize how stupid that sounds right?
  21. MItchell is on Toronto's 46 man roster You sure? thought they signed him as a free agent and then released him due to some sort of injury he had.
  22. I've always been a fan of the Red Wings and Blackhawks, Also really like the Sharks back in the day. I'm Latvian and The Sharks had a goalie by the name of Arturs Irbe, I got to meet him when i was very young when he played in Winnipeg through some of the Latvian folks in the city. Was cool. Got a picture, I am probably 5 or 6 maybe 7 years old with him. LOL
  23. Ticats rumoured to be signing DE Justin Hickman. Pretty big signing if true. Ticats have quite a bit of high priced talent on that team now.
  24. LOL. this is so wrong on so many levels it's crazy... Kevin Glenn? Dude you are confusing what people on fan boards said. Noone in the bombers ever said Glenn was an option, they actually said the opposite, said he wasn't. You got it all backwards 1. Willy and Collaros (he came available first) 2. Willy and Burris (he only came available after the ticats signed collaros) 3. Willy Common them in all those options, Drew Willy. Stop pretending what fans on the forum wanted is what the team wanted. Kevin Glenn was never an option. Ever. Not once. Only to a few people on these fan boards. I'm not sure that the guy who is completely unaware of the Bombers inquiring about Kevin Glenn even after we had acquired Drew Willy should be telling me that I have things backwards. The Bombers were very interested in Kevin Glenn, we just weren't willing to give up Goossen to get him. In other words, we didn't want him that bad. That was after we signed Willy too so to have Glenn ahead of willy on your made up in your head list is ridiculous.
  25. Depends really. What if the receivers are dropping balls? What if Brohm is getting crushed back there on every play because our Oline sucks. Lots of variables here, I'm sure with a few practice days Brohm will look better, If not, then next man up for sure but gotta give him some time to show what he's got or doesn't have. Don't think you know that after a half of football unless the guy looks totally lost out there. I would let Brohm stay under center, as long as he can get some first downs even if the O can't score. Otherwise, sit him and it's Marve's time. Probably not, Brohm will get a game or so to show what he can do, with a week of practice or so he should be better, Can't throw the guy under the bus like that, guess some have learned nothing from all the other qb's we have thrown under buses after their first start in the league. If Brohm looks terrible, sure marve can go in but that's not just all on brohm, it's on the other guys on the field too.
