The future looks bright but during Chevy's press conference he said that he doesn't think pav has reached his potential. It might be lip service but.... Pav will be the starter next season according to Chevy

Enstrom slater thorburn and maybe pav I'd consider thrashers guys but 2 aren't really a huge part of the team. The rest outside on Toby have played more games for the jets than thrashers. Little maybe but he was good

Slater stafford Frolik Tlusty Stempniak are all ufa. Peluso Galiardi also ufa. O'Dell too I think. Chiarot rfa. Role players really. Chiarot should be signed. Stempniak too. Stafford and Frolik be nice if not long term and big money. The rest are a meh really.

What thrashers core tho? Wheeler Ladd and Buff were there for one season. Stuart was a beast tonight. Slater really and Thorburn aren't considered core players. The D was 95 percent Jets.

Pavs played well but that last one was a stinker. Buff had his best game in my opinion. Ducks just a better team.

Great season and yup future looks good but.. the goaltending Is the big question mark. Pav played well and held them in it but that last Kesler goal when jets had all the momentum was that 1 bad goal he let's in every game. That was the back breaker.

They might because Peter C has no prior history with some of the guys macT and crew drafted. I think they almost have too make some trades. Eberle being the most likely. Changes on ice need to come. You ain't gonna be signing ufas. There are barely any. Trades is the only option really to fix that D there. One or more of the young guys being traded would bring back d help. With no D or Goaltending. Oilers will suck again.

MacT may be fired. Former bruins GM in talks with Edmonton apparently. If that happens I could see the oilers making several trades

They kept Kane for years until the issue was forced. Kane has and had more talent and potential than Burmi.

Burmi issues might be attitude related. Jets seem to be high on guys with good character. Not sure Burmi is one of those guys.

Burmi probably part of a larger deal. Think buff Burmi type of trade. He's a throw in.

Imo Burmi is as good as traded already. He won't be back.

3 game sample size is not enough. Reality jets could be up 3-0. They aren't down 3-0 because of pav. The games have all been close because of him tho

Tlusty Slater and Thorburn got quite a bit of playing time and were very effective actually

Buff is not really an elite d man tho, to be an elite d man, you need to be able to play D. He's a good player but lately, he's caused more harm than good. When Buff isn't doing good things, he's either not doing anything or is caught out of position. The last several games now, several, 10 15 20 games with Buff on D, since the All Star Break Really, he has not been good at all. Things that make you go hmmm Without Buff in the lineup, The Jets win more than they lose, it's a significant amount too. Without Toby in the lineup, the Jets win more than they lose, it's a significant amount too. Tells me those 2 are replaceable. When Buff is on, he's on but when he's off and lately he's been off more than he has been on, He's a liability out there. I wouldn't give him a big money long term deal, not a chance... He's just not worth the 6 7 8 million a year he will get elsewhere. Especially to a team like the Jets, who in reality, they are building this team through the youth. Buff is our 3rd best Right Handed D man, He's not worth what it would cost to keep him when one day and soon you will have to extend trouba,lowry,scheif and the sorts. Gotta remember what the D in D man stands for... Buff does not bring that.

I'd strongly consider moving toby too but he's our best and really only legit left handed d man. I'd move Buff first and see if we could get a left handed d man in return.. if so, then i'd look at moving toby. But... That left side looks way weaker without toby and nobody to replace him.
