  1. Went with a little below average. The reasoning for that being.. I like our depth players, i guess you can call them "non starters"... I'm talking guys like Briggs,Jones,Newman (was injured tho all last year, huge loss IMO), Sherman (good depth player), Thomas (good depth player). Guys like that. There are others too, JFG i suppose is one but we seem to be lacking the high end starting talent, Picard IMO is probably our best Canadian Starter as of today, I like Greaves but i don't think his job is guaranteed, I like Goossen but he's probably a year or 2 away from being Center, might be a guard option tho, I really like Kohlert, very good very consistent player, Watson when health, when healthy, when HEALTHY does probably start on every team in the league but only WHEN HEALTHY.. Neufeld looked good last season but injury issues are a concern. Lirim is Money. Bucknor was quite the surprise actually. Upgrade the starters tho and we'd be maybe average or a bit above average. Add a guy like Heenan and some depth like Hurl or a guy like that and who knows, See what free agency brings. The draft should yield us some talent too so perhaps this time next year, we are average or a little above average. I like the path we are on tho.
  2. Ha great tune there actually. In non Jets related however Central Division related news, UH OH in Nashville.. Pekka Rinne, IMO, the best goalie in the league when he is healthy, numbers back that up too, Out 3-5 weeks with LBI.
  3. Benton sounds like a candidate for the middle linebacker spot. Tackling machine much?
  4. #Bombers add International MAC linebacker Shamari Benton (5-11, 231) and International defensive back Jarrid Bryant (6-4, 195). Per Darren Cameron Tweet
  5. I believe a reporters asked him and he gave the obvious "as long as we are winning, that's all that matters" answer. But deep inside, you gotta think he knows his time in winnipeg is coming to an end.
  6. This is a very good article and really does illustrate just how well the Jets have played this year. Top 3 in possession is huge, it's one of those over looked things but it matters lots.
  7. It makes no sense at all really. Plus we have owned Chicago this year, that might change but so far 2-0 vs them... Dallas has very little chance of catching us and or making the playoffs, they go on these runs this year where they win for a week then they lose for 2.. I'm honestly more concerned about the Chicago game than i am about tonight. IMO, if we play like we did vs LA, ANAHEIM and Flordia, we win this one tonight in a route. Dallas is not good, they are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. That's their issue this year, their D and goaltending is terrible.
  8. The one by Polo, rumor has it, it will be an outlet type of mall, similar to what they are putting up near the seasons of tuxedo. Swear i read on twitter or even the paper that a client (fashion industry) (or even multiple fashion industry "stores" ) are taking that one over.
  9. Start Pav, he has played well the last couple games, Well enough to win at least... We need both of these games and since it's back to back and Hutch has owned Chicago this year, we are 2-0 vs Chicago in Chicago this year, Hutch goes tomorrow. Fun fact: the last week or so the Jets are one of the highest if not the highest scoring team in the league, averaging over 4 goals per game (minus the arizona debacle). Start Pav, he plays well vs Dallas. Start Hutch tomorrow in Chicago. He's 2-0 vs them this season.
  10. saw it too, Believe it said as high as the 5th round even.
  11. What an odd trade, saw it on twitter and laughed. Most Valuable player and most valuable defensive player for a guy who is injured lots. Just what the heck was my thought. The one player i really noticed on Ottawa last season was Jasper Simmons. What a brutal trade really.
  12. Bryant is probably a contender for Bruce Johnsons spot.
  13. 1 or 2 percent sounds right. If that. Only like 100 or so people on the forum.
  14. 3 goals 3 assists in 42 games for Olli so far
  15. Hall, he could be working on that right now. Just cuz it's not announced public ally don't mean it's not done and he isn't working already
  16. Maybe they were all sleeping still when MOAB made his post today. Seriously. Like 930 at that time? Lol. Just chill really and they will announce it when they feel like it. No need to worry. Hall is the man. It's a done deal.
  17. What delay? It's January.
  18. Nichols is a free agent isn't he? Only other QB under contract are Reilly and Pat White. Makes sense to sign lynch. Nichols is probably not in their plans moving forward
  19. Walter isn't as good as Cornish tho.
  20. Not a fan of Olli. Hasn't done much for Nashville this year. Probably not the worst idea to let him walk cuz all indications are he thought he would get more money than he got. Not a fan of Hali either. He should be in the ahl. Rumours out there saying Chevy after a top 9 forward. My guess to replace Hali on the third line.
  21. Oops
  22. 8-2 lol. Great game overall
  23. Willy is the man. Right now Marve is 2. Portis is 3. Brohm is a free agent who has NFL aspirations
  24. I'm curious to know why? Just because we're the most penalized team in the league to date doesn't mean we then need to be more scrutinized in our play than other teams. IMO each game played should be reffed on a clean slate should it not? I do know they're human beings but the more professional they are the better they can control their biases in how they call the game. I'm assuming the refs are taking this approach, i.e., doesn't matter who the teams are, they will be assessed equally. Any refs out there to help me out in testing my assumption. If it is indeed the case that we are being watched more closely/given less benefit of the doubt than our opponent (which is very hard to prove), then it becomes an issue a lack of objectivity of the part of the referees, no? Oh it's just my opinion and Blake Wheelers for that matter who after the Arizona game came out and said they were a "marked team". Do i think it's the case? Sometimes i wonder for sure, Sometimes when watching I see the Jets get called for a penalty and i think, that was iffy but whatever, as long as the refs call it for the other team, it's all good. Then the other team does the same thing and it doesn't get called and it makes me wonder a bit more. There is no way to prove it, but the eye test watching the games at times certainly does make me at least wonder if there is some truth to the fact that the Jets are indeed being watched a little more closely than the other team. Not sure if it's true or not, just my opinion and like i said, Blake Wheelers also but... who really knows. If it is true, that's a problem. I hope it's not true but... at times i do wonder about it. No way to prove it one way or the other, just like i said, watching the game, Jets get called on an iffy call, other team does the same and doesn't. Makes you wonder at times for sure. Regardless tho, the Jets need to take less penalties and actually capitalize on their chances when they do get the power play opportunity. Jets went like 1 for 16 on the PP these last 3 games, the other teams went 7 for 16 or something. Just looking at the numbers, does seem to actually be called pretty even but... at times, definitely makes me wonder about some calls or non calls.
