Problem is Burmi looked the same as he did a few years ago. I don't know if it's because once every 40 games he made a nice play or what but the Burmi that was here before was the same one that didn't do much in preseason. Is it cuz he was a high draft pick? He wasn't good. He wasn't very good when he was here before either. I really don't get the Burmi love from some. Good defensively for sure but that's all. He's a 4th liner. 3rd if there's injuries. Just shows you how far this team has come in a couple years. Few years ago Burmi is top 6. Now he's bottom 6. Probably bottom 3.

He's at the bottom that's for sure.Believe he was signed when there was no helle or comrie or Phillips. He's probably gonna be a career ECHL goalie. Doubt he gets an AHL action unless Helle is called up. Even then he'd probably sit on the bench

His game is and always had been east west. Jets play north south. He doesn't really fit. Unless he changes I don't see it lasting long at all. Too much depth on the team.

If an NHL goalie gassed 5 shots between his pads there'd be accountability as he'd be sent down to that team's AHL farm team. But like voodochyle says he'll be allowed to trot out & keep on kicking ..errrrrr.... missing..Nah. He just wouldn't get the start next game. One bad game doesn't mean he'd be sent down. Lirim is odd tho. Started 16 of 19. Since is 6 of 13. Makes you wonder why. Wonder if the holds are off a bit. Guy is mentally strong. He's dealt with lots in his life. Wonder if changing holders would help. I do think you have to dress Castillo next game tho.

I think they have and always will have about a 20000 give or take season ticket holder base. If the team improves that will go up but I seriously doubt it drops below that 20 K mark.

I don't think so. I think those who do are setting themselves up for disappointment big time. If Burmi can score 10 goals that's a good season for him. I don't think he's a jet for very long tho. Agree that it's more like Petan replacing Frolik. Burmi will be a bottom 6 player. Possibly 4th line to start. Really it speaks more to the depth we have now more than anything. Really not sure why some have this attachment to the guy tho.

That Rider D is something really awful, they might be in trouble for a few years... Not sure you can fix that D in one off-season, very little canadian depth too. Taman won a cup yup but... man he might have screwed that team for a few years now. Lots of older players too, 4 or 5 players making over 1 million bucks a year, close to 1.5 million probably.... That team is in trouble going forward. one of the oldest if not the oldest teams in the league. Things aren't gonna be pretty in riderville for a little while i think.

Well, I'll try to find the replay but... thought it was pretty close. They call lots of phantom PI calls this year, this might just be another example of one of them. In my opinion, if it indeed was a phantom PI call, it probably wasn't the only one that game.

Burmistrov sucked... it's really that simple. He wasn't good in pre-season at all. The rookies were better, Raffl was better. Burmistrov was probably the worst forward outside of peluso in the pre-season. Harrison? waived to the moose, if someone picks him up on waivers, great but they won't. Postma and Pardy can sit in the press box... Peluso should have been waived after the last game the other night, he's not good, he's not needed. Lipon can do the same as him plus he has the hands to actually score. Peluso isn't needed, he's a one dimensional plug fighter. He doesn't serve a purpose.

I'm just gonna comment on the Willis PI call... It was close but on replay it did look like he had his hand on Kohlerts back b4 the ball arrived. They have called that somewhat consistently this year too so... it was very close but i think the right call was indeed made there. Close but.. His hand was on Kohlerts back b4 the ball arrived.

I'm watching Hockey now - will be fully vested when the season starts in less than two weeks. I agree it was a chincy call but the player was not on the line. Only issue I have with the call is the lateness of the flag. I agree with other posters here - the line judge watches the line from the sideline, and usually throws the flag right away. Only thing I can think of is he confirmed with the line judge from the other side first. i.e. he didn't want to throw a flag if a bomber receiver from the opposite end was on the line - thus negating the call. When the other sideline judge said no, he threw the flag. No different than the Sk too many men penalty in the G.C. a few years back. But here's how I see it, the bombers were playing the defending Grey Cup champs and now, with the loss of Collaros, the best team in the league. They hung with them all game, really fought it out. Those guys complaining about the Bombers O - hey that's a Rich Stubler Defense, and Rich knows Nichols very well. He made his adjustments and it took the bombers a while to figure out what to do. That's why they're the CHAMPS. Good on Wpg! I expected a blow out and instead was treated to a close game that had a heartbreak ending. If the bombers had played that way a few more times, it wouldn't have been a must win. It still wasn't IMO - B.C. will be slaughtered by the Eskimos today. Bombers still, have a good chance. They just gotta keep playing this way every week. If they do, they'll win their share of games. If they lay an egg last week, it's on THEM - not an official. You're allowed to be one yard back from the line. That's in the rule book. The pictures clearly show him half a yard back, in line with the tackles (who were aT least in line with Nichols). While I'm not convinced it's a conspiracy....it was 100% the wrong call. Yep it is. But you know, a 'good' team will make that 49 yard field goal. Also, we have absolutely no idea what would have happened after that play if the officials let the play stand. Nichols could have been sacked twice for big yardage loss, or they could have turned the ball over. Just because they get the first down doesn't mean they win. I like Liram, I think he'll be a star, but I just saw the guy he replaced and was out of football for TWO years come in and kick a 50 yard field last night in an Ottawa loss (Justin Palardy). To me, the call was irrelevant - the BOMBERS lost that game, not the officials. Liram is paid to make those kicks, he's not paid to make garbage field goals and 3 out of 4 extra points. He failed ,HE lost the game. You're being a bit over-zealous here. At best a 50 plus yd. FG is a 50/50 proposition for any kicker, especially accounting for wind variations. So you would have felt comfortable giving the ball back to Calgary with a minute left needing only a single? I wouldn't have been. And I also would not have been too comfortable going to overtime against them. The call killed a drive we had extended, giving us pretty much the rest of regulation time to find a way to get to the end zone. Maybe - but it doesn't matter. Officials don't lose a team games. The players do. Liam kicks the field goal, it's tied, and we have no idea what happens after. Officials don't throw the flag - we have no idea what happens on 1st and 10 - it's just as likely - based on the bombers play I'll call it a 50/50 proposition - that Calgary sacks Nichols and strips him of the ball - or forces a bad throw for an interception - as it is for Nihcols to throw a TD pass and win the game (but then Calgary still has time to come back so who knows there ) There are so many variables in a game. There's missed assignments, mis-reads, dropped passes, bad throws, fumbles, wrong play calls, and botch calls by officials. Fact is.. he makes that extra point and he just kicks one other FG and we win that game.. he makes them all, that game isn't as close as it was. For the first time in a long time, i am going to say that we actually deserved to win that game.. and easily would have if our Kicker didn't suck crap.

Toth was the only guy mentioning burmi might get traded so i doubt he does but... it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he was. In reality, if he could be sent down to the AHL, that would be the best thing for him but he can't be... you risk losing him for nothing, no doubt someone would take a chance on him.... but i think he's slightly to massively over rated as a player by some Jets fans hoping he becomes something I don't think he ever will be. He's not a top 6 guy.. On this team, I'm not sure if he's a top 9 guy based on pre-season.

I wouldn't be shocked if Castillo is on the roster next week, he almost needs to be. As far as sending him out to keep trying, what's your other option really? Keep going for it on 3rd down? Then the topic would be something about how stupid we were for not trying the fg...

9th and 10th right now. Well 10th and 11th technically but we gave up our first round pick to get Waggoner so 9th and 10th. Sask 2nd rounder via EDM in the greaves trade and right now our 2nd rounder which would be 10th. I'm calling it 9th and 10th because only 8 teams pick in round 1 right now.

Nah. It's through the gate. Thought the crowd was decent all things considered. Looked like more than last game. Last one was 23 and change.

1st half was sad to watch. O just non existent at all. Terrible first half. Probably worst half all year. 2nd was Damn good. Why did it take MB so long to change it up. Lirim was garbage but the O was just as bad in the first half.

Funny thing is we still aren't out of it. If these last 2 games prove anything it's that we aren't as bad as it seems. Right now I'd say we are actually playing better than both bc and Montreal

What good would it have done to let him talk to our wonderful media. The guy was obviously feeling awful after. Could see it on his face. Throwing him to the media would have done more harm to his already fragile mind. Westwood ripping him after is the definition of ridiculous.
