Who the heck was ever defending pavelec. And how in God's name does comparing a goalie to a QB make any sense anyway? I would say in this case tho.... Nichols is Pavelec. He's been around longer... he just had 1 decent to good game and people are ready to declare him the next great thing. Just like Montoya? Seriously AL Montoya? Chris Mason? Same mason who was done in the nhl basically after the Jets didn't sign him? Hutch had his shot and Maurice rode the hot hand... seems to me that's what O'shea is doing now. Well the arbitrator who reduced his suspension did. Like I said tho... pretty hard to prove. Big time ****** move by Wideman but what if he legit had no idea what he was doing? I mean I've had a concussion or 3 or 4 and besides the first one where I was basically out like a light... falling off a bike head first on to concrete does that.... the other ones I thought I was fine but 20 seconds later... I certainty wasn't. So who really knows. The only person who knows for sure is Wideman. I'd suspect that he was somewhat concussed. I think he was fully aware of what he was doing at the time cuz he obviously knew how to make it back to the bench... question is did he know it was the ref tho? Who really knows

I don't know if you can totally blame Wideman. Ya it was a dumb thing but if he was concussed and had no idea for real.... can you? It's hard to prove either way tho

It's obvious that Willy has some sort of mental issues this year. Something in his head. If he can actually shake that and just go out there and play. ...he will still be a good QB. The big question is. ... can he overcome the obvious mental issues. I don't know if he can. Nichols is what he is. Willy was a better QB than Nichols and might still be if he can overcome the mental side of things. Beats me if he can tho. Let's not pretend that Nichols is some saviour tho. Cuz he's not. It's not defending Willy.... it's just not over rating Nichols in to being something he's proven he's not. It's almost like people didn't watch games last year when Nichols played. He's a decent QB but he's not gonna win you games on his own. He's gonna have 1 or 2 good games and then 2 or 3 bad ones and you know what for as well as Nichols played last week...the Esks dB actually intercepts the duck to adams in to double maybe triple coverage and people wouldn't be talking about how great Nichols is. I don't get the defending Willy thing. It's not. It's being realistic about what matt Nichols is. I hope I'm wrong but... people don't think Willy is the man but bet on it... if Willy isn't.... Nichols isn't either cuz in reality they are pretty Damn similar

Couldn't you make the argument that the D is responsible for every win tho? I mean without the D... the other team would score more points. The idea is the team that scores most wins... who cares if it's 10 fgs or 4 pick 6 or 4 rushing TDS. Points are points . I'm just saying that if you are going to use something to bash Willy and Praise Nichols... be fair. Nichols was 5 and 2 as Esks starter b4 being traded to Winnipeg. You know how many games the D was responsible for winning? All of them. What was his record here? More losses than wins. What are people gonna say when cuz it is when Nichols struggles and we lose? It's almost like people think Nichols is some fresh faced saviour when in reality he's a proven commodity. He will win some... he will lose some and probably more.

I think having a run game allowed nichols to make those throws tho, It's not just 1 thing or 1 guy, it's a combination of them.. Harris had over 100 yards rushing in the first half... That's insane and Dressler had over 100 yards receiving in the first half... I think that goes hand in hand really.... The biggest difference in the game last night in my opinion was not the QB, it was the run game.. I'm not taking anything away from Nichols either, he showed up and played pretty good, wasn't great but was good enough... similar yardage to what Willy put up really but.... at the same time, Have we not seen this before with Nichols? Last year even? He's Mr Inconsistent for sure... Willy hasn't been good but all things being equal, I think Willy is a better QB than Nichols, but... he just hasn't done crap this year.

So anyone with a guess as to what our receivers will look like next week? Short week, wednesday game.

Bowman was basically a non factor last night... whoever was covering Bowman did a hell of a job. Not old enough to remember the happy honker but i've always been under the impression that it went to a guy who kind of flew under the radar... a guy like Loffler, who was expecting that? a guy like Frederick? again who was expecting that? Kohlert even, solid and reliable receiver who stepped up nicely when give a chance. Always was under the impression the HH went to an underdog of sorts, a guy that perhaps nobody saw it coming from.. Loffler, Frederick and Kohlert in my opinion and if i had to pick 1... I think it's Loffler.

Sounds like Denmark is on route to Winnipeg, fun fact... Denmark has a son who was born in Winnipeg. So basically, it's a natural fit, honestly, not sure why the got rid of him in the first place, guess was making to much cash but surely they could have kept him around.

The Team as a whole seemed a lot more animated last night, lots of OLINE running up the field doing the first down gesture, lots of smack talk it seemed, lots of fight really... a ton more emotion shown on the field actually, DB's celebrating big time after making a huge play, The O guys basically talking crap to the Edmonton D the whole game.. was nice to see.
