  1. Voracek has been very good for Philly. Don't like that deal tho but....
  2. Perhaps, not a popular decision but on hits like the one to Willy, perhaps the command center should be able to buzz the refs on the field and tell them it was a low hit, i mean if they are serious about protecting the QB. I don't get this standing up for the refs thing, I'd get it if it was the first time this has happened and there was no flag on the play but this is the second time this season it's happened with Willy and NO flags. Why not allow the command center to notify the refs that it was an illegal hit. Cuz that's what it was, a low hit, it's illegal. Simple as that. Are you related to the refs there Jacquie? Must be cuz you seem to go out of your way to defend them. I mean like i said, i'd get it if there wasn't a way for the refs to see it.. but i mean what the hell is the command center doing then? Shouldn't they have seen it? and if they did, why can't they let the refs on the field know it was a penalty? Is that how the CFL is going to go eventually, no refs on the field anymore? just in a booth watching the game on a tv screen cuz i'm starting to think that might not be a bad idea.. Miss one head shot to Willy, ok i'll let it slide, but this is the 2nd time now they have missed an obvious call.
  3. Lemon didn't want to be here did he? I see no way we have any interest in him, pretty sure he was the guy that didn't want to be here anymore so he asked for his release from the team and signed elsewhere.
  4. The fans played a role too, if we aren't as good as the fans think we should be in a year or 2, FIRE THIS GUY, FIRE THAT GUY.. run this QB out of town, rush this QB, what? he sucked, get rid of the bum... It's really the same old same old.. People may not want to hear it but the fans need to be patient, really do.. can ***** about this grey cup drought all you want but its not on this current group... hell, i don't even think anyone in this current regime (board members included) have been around for the whole drought. Patience is needed... people go on about who is available to come here? Reality is nobody, because why would they want to come to a place that has a history of 1.being way too impatient and 2. firing coaches every year or 2. You don't build stability over night, it takes time and these guys seem to be on the right path but really one of the major issues over this drought has been the lack of starting QB... we really haven't had one... Not old enough to go back 24 years, well i am, i just don't remember or wasn't following football when i was like under 5... but.. i'd imagine if you look at the list of starting QB's in the league over those past 24 years... Betcha the team with the most different starting QB's is Winnipeg. That's part of the problem. We got a starting QB now and what's ridiculous is there are some people who think he's not good enough. That just boggles my mind really.
  5. Willy lasts the game, puts up really good numbers, bombers win. This place is dead silent for a week.
  6. Well quite simple really, Elliott was at the time the best qb the Bombers had that was able to play and he should have been playing. Cato is far from proven as a CFL starter though and part of actually being a good CFL starter is being able to adapt once defences adapt to you. Cato is getting his opportunity to prove if he can or can't, Elliott never got that opportunity because he for Burked. He was also buenod and campbelld too then.
  7. Hmm. Long on criticism and bereft of anything resembling rational thought or explanation? Kind of like your original post about the Cronyism I guess??? Seriously, Heres some facts... Bombers have been to a few (more than 2 for sure) grey cups in the last 24 years... They haven't won tho. One year they were 14-4 and lost to an 8-10 calgary team, one year their starting QB got hurt and barely lost to sask who wasn't playing a QB who got his first ever start that game. Bombers have been to multiple grey cup games but just haven't won. This idea that the team has been dead awful for 24 years is just bullcrap. They have been good, at times the best team in the league through the regular season... that 14-4 team sure was, but they just haven't won for whatever reason. It's not cronyism, It's more like the inability to show up for the big game... I mean really. If we weren't in several grey cups, perhaps i could get behind this cronyism idea or if we have just been bottom feeders for 24 years or whatever it is, i could get behind it but... reality, we have had really good teams over the years, we have been to the cup several times over the drought, we just haven't won. You know what it is? Players choking at the worst possible times, players getting injured at the worst possible times, kickers missing fgs at the worst possible times, Players (Roberts) staying out too late partying the night b4 (if rumors are true). It's not Cronyism, LOL that's ridiculous. It's just as simple as... we have been to the dance multiple times in the last 24 years or so, but.. what happens is when we get there, we tend to fall on our faces. It is what it is. Sports man, some games you win, some you lose.
  8. Alright, Let's do it again... Andrew Harris. LOL. just 1 TD tho for Mr Harrris Bombers still win.
  9. Glenn on the 6 Gane with a pec injury. Ouch. Will the riders win a game?
  10. I thought it meant that Marve was hurt for 2 weeks and there was only 1 practice this week. So brohm playing actually makes sorta sense if you thought Willy might be more hurt than he was. 2 qbs would be hurt so by default the 1 healthy guy plays? I dunno tho.
  11. OL has been pretty decent for the most part but they do have their break downs every now and then, seems to me that last game, Tyler was being picked on, he's a significant step down from Jace Daniels tho (who should be back this week) and the ESKS exploited him for sure. Greaves has struggled in 3 games, stood out in a bad way in 3 games but sounds like Neufeld might take his spot this week. All in all an oline of Bryant,Neufeld,Picard,Chungh,Daniels should be pretty decent really. Little unimpressed with Picard this year tho, somebody said it in another thread, thought the best thing about signing him was his shotgun snaps but even those appear to be all over the place this year, Picard has been owned several times.. I'd be tempted to try Goossen for a game just to see if he doesn't get owned as much as Picard.
  12. I don't see any MARVE hate, what i see is some people realizing he's still pretty much green as goose crap, i see lots of potential in him but i've been around long enough to know that you don't throw a rookie basically in to the fire immediately if you want him to succeed. I like Marve, i like what I've seen of him but.. the fact is, he is a 2nd year player, he's green still, there is no conspiracy, he's not ready obviously.. while BROHM might not be the answer, part of me wants to see him go out there and fail again and again and again so the coaches finally get that he's not good enough and needs to be sent packing. Marve tho, I don't want him to go in there and get ruined.. People can say what they want on here but if Marve went in there and stunk the joint up, man, fans would be calling for his head too. I'd like to see him developed properly, not rushed, he has potential, why do we want to ruin him b4 he even gets a chance to learn the game. With that being said and going on this "he isn't ready" stuff yet, WTH is OSHEA talking about regarding DAVIS, saying he's not ready, he looked pretty damn good running dickenson and hufnagels O in the pre-season... he can run that O but he can't ours? LOL, is ours more complicated? if it is, is that part of the problem really?
  13. WILD is a great WIL LB, would be great to see him back.. and no doubt he'd play immediately, but... just a question cuz i think he's actually starting to show why they kept him, Bass, what happens to him? He's getting better every game in my opinion, do we maybe move him to the middle? Cuz no way WILD should go back to the Middle.
  14. I can't think of another reason why Brohm is given such a long leash. But the cronyism? explain what you mean by that... and how it exactly relates to brohm and the bombers? Cuz i don't see it.
  15. Greaves has been a weak line this year.. NOW to start Goossen over Picard.
  16. But one was a green as goose crap rookie and one had a year to learn in Hamilton. That makes a difference. I don't know of many teams in the league, not many at all really that are gonna go with a rookie #2. It just doesn't work like that really. I mean really, Marve has never played a down of pro ball in his life b4 coming here did he? Nope, he was a legit green as goose crap rookie. I dunno but i'd rather let the rookie develop properly instead of throwing his green ass in to the fire and watching him fail, i'm not that old but i'm old enough to remember several qb's over the years who had all these NCAA stats and people thought they were the second coming only to see them be cut, time and time and time again. The Brian Randalls of the world really... people thought he was gonna be our answer, coaches kept saying he's not ready, he's not ready.. then one time a coach decided to listen to the fans and put randall in to a game and randall didn't do crap.. That was the one thing i enjoyed about Mike Kelly actually, that one game where he kept listening to the fans and kept putting in every QB we had dressed, that was awesome and i thought, wow maybe some of the fans will learn that when coaches say the guy isn't ready, it means he's not ready. But nope, here we are years later... same thing all over again.
  17. Here's my thoughts on this.. we ran the ball a combined 13 times last game, why dress 2 rb's if you aren't gonna use them, i mean really, heavy heavy heavy rainfall and we only run the ball 13 times? MB should be sent out back and shot. seriously... that's just stupidity at it's finest.
  18. The pre-season stats really do mean nothing, Marve was playing against guys who are, well they aren't employed by a pro football team. The pre-season stats truly are the most meaningless of them all.
  19. Man, i can't believe i'm gonna say this... wouldn't normally but all this MARVE stuff after a loss is getting so insane it's getting to me lol.. I hope Marve gets to play soon and here it goes, can't believe i'm gonna say this... i hope he craps the bed big time, not because i want to see the bombers fail but.. i kind of am curious to see what people would then say... Don't get me wrong here, go bombers and all but.... man, i'd love to see what some people would say if Marve went in there and sucked really badly. What would be the excuses? oh and i hope it's like plus 25 to plus 30 with no wind and no weather issues at all, i hope it's next game and i hope it's because BROHM gets hurt and is done for the season... But if i could be serious for a moment, Has brohm fully healed from his thumb injury? Could that be part of the problem this year cuz.. he wasn't as awful last year. He wasn't exactly lighting it up when he got his shots last year but.. he wasn't as awful as he has been this year either.
  20. You need to look at the stats then really first time he got reps 5 for 10 for 64 yards second time 6/12 for 76 yards with a long of 42 so basically i know you can't do that but... you take that way and it's 5/11 for 34 yards.. Is that really moving the ball? or is it just a big play and then a bunch of nothing?? Pre-season don't count cuz the guy was playing against guys who are now bagging groceries and pumping gas. I like Marve and think he has potential but... i feel as tho some people are trying to make him out to be more than what he actually is.. He is a 50 percent passer, run first qb who probably has troubles learning a system and reading the D out there. He's the developmental QB right now, perhaps one day he becomes the back up but.. that day is not today, however if WILLY doesn't play, i suppose technically Marve does become the backup for one week.
  21. Look the last 2 games were hard situations for any quarterback to come into. The team lost it's starter and it got them down mentally. There are enough excuses to be found that it is understandable that you don't make a change at qb, especially if you believe that Brohm understands the system better, and why shouldn't he? He's an older more experienced qb, I hope he understands things. That's probably a big comfort to the coaches. But don't fret about it too much, guys don't get unlimited chances to not produce. If he gets a week of prep as the starter and still goes out and poops his pants things will start to change. The job of a quarberback is to be able to step up in relief of the starter, even midway through a game if needed. If Brohm can't do that, what's the use in keeping him around? Especially when Marve has done admirable job in relief. There is not one aspect of Brohm's game that is attractive and he does not belong on a professional football field. When?
  22. I don't think Marve has an attitude problem, i think he has a learning the system problem.. Listen if the guy is gonna go out and improvise all the team, it's not good, you need to learn the playbook, people can talk about conspiracies all they want but Marve has shown so far that when he has played, and taking the in love with marve goggles off, if you actually watched him play, it's complete and utter chaos... it's not exactly standing back in the pocket, going through his reads, it's look at one guy, if he's not open, take off and run. That won't win you many games. People can talk about that Calgary game all they want, Cornish was hurt, it was snowing, it was crappy, Calgary didn't care even... they were trying not to get hurt really.. that entire game, Marve was 50 percent passing... that's not good enough really... and it was chaos the entire time he was playing. It's not sustainable.. the simple fact with Marve is.. i don't think he's very smart... you hear people talk about smart QB's and all this stuff, Marve is a dumb one, he has all the tools except the one he needs the most, his brain... you need to know how to read a D, you need to know how to run the system otherwise... yup might be exciting but it's gonna get not only the QB killed eventually but also some of the receivers too.
