Matthew Peterson interview from last year, seems very focused on establishing a career in football from a very young age. -

He is, but they also likely hold their own with Wallace at LG, either way they trounce the Lions. Not a bad time to experiment and get them used to a bit of job sharing early in the season, Vanterpool moves to the 1 game IR and has a rest unless Neufeld is still questionable, nothing needs to be set in stone this early on. -

If Neufeld is injured and struggling to play, there is zero reason not to send him to the IR so he can properly recover. His spot will still be there when he's healthy. -

Day 1 of Bombers practice: RB Brady Oliveira is here, not dressed. Same for LS Mike Benson. S Josh Hagerty was running in warmups...an improvement on his injury situation. Watching for the ratio change that the Bombers will make with Oliveira's injury. Could be receiver, maybe more likely it's at left guard. They'll certainly bring RB Quinton Cooley on. So an American will have to come off. from derek taylor Update from Bomberland: Zach Collaros back at QB1, Matthew Peterson in Brady Oliveira's spot. Gabe Wallace getting work at right guard Also: Quinton Cooley getting some work at RB, too. from ed tait -

Peterson is a dual citizen, born in the US, grew up in Brooks, moved back to the Iowa as a teen for a couple of years, came back to AB for highschool and Univ. -
Liegghio must be kicking weighted balls, every other kicker struggles with the wind in Hamilton, but he's kicking FG's dead straight through the middle of the uprights, he's become a kicking machinhio.

No doubt O'Shea is the main determiner of the personnel that make the team, but I can't imagine a worse way to interfere than telling the coordinators who they should play where once the lineup is established, especially on D, when they're switching personnel so often. Bet he confirms the player ratio and health status and allows them to do whatever they want with the personnel available for that game. He's said a million times, he trusts his coordinators.
-
O'Shea has nothing to do the playbook other than monitoring it's overall direction, he let's his coordinators handle the details, the same with personnel other than ratio concerns, he's not likely telling them who to play and who to sit.

I'm not convinced Bob Dyce has a plan, maybe they could have figured that out 2 years ago if they'd asked him, but the team has been going sideways since they fired Marcel Desjardins. Not that Marcel was a piece of cake, he was roundly hated for being cheap. -

3 years of losing might convince Dru Brown to look for a better team to lead. -

Leggs seems to be kicking well in the windiest stadium in the league. Sergio is actually pretty smart, he never quite attains perfection, missing the occasional FG or convert every few games strangely lowers peoples expectations and increases their acceptance when he does miss, which was not the case for Leggs. As long as he produces when the chips are down and doesn't cost them a game, he should remain a fan favourite. -
Highly unlikely but might be their best chance to get him on the roster, take Sterns off and play Corcoran and bring Cobb on as the backup.

LOL Bombers had two of them in Leggs and Lirim and they chased them out of town, couldn't bring either back now for love nor money. Bomber fans need to find more patience for their kickers! -
Lawson looks like a bigger version of Jake, hard to tell them apart if you can't see their numbers well, they play similar styles.
-
Looked like they were having a helluva lot of fun out there, contrast that with Lions who didn't even celebrate their TD's.

Context.

Yesterday is the perfect example of a before and after moment, jumped from end of the world discussions over roster management, to immense jubilation that everybody was wrong, except the Bomber coaching staff.

Must have cut off the last bit. 😉 "Do you know who I am??? Do you know who I am??? I used to be an NFL QB!!!"
-
Time to plan Stanley's farewell tour at the end of this season, so they can retain all the good bits for next. Neuf probably done as well, must pay Wallace enough to stay.

Does Kyrie really have to play ST's? Give the old guy a break, he's fragile enough, he can perform very well in certain situations if they manage his work load. -
I think Lofton is going to sit when he comes back, Randolph did an excellent job at RT, he has excellent mobility for a big man.
-
I think that boat just sailed, haven't seen an O-line that good in many years, just what they need to keep Zach safe and handle the CFL's top D-lines. Benefits the running game as well, which is the driver of the Bomber offence, with 3 strong RB's on tap they're going to march at will and be virtually unstoppable, should be well over 100 yds. every game.

2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread
Fatty Liver replied to WinnipegGordo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There's always plenty of excuses for not playing the backup QB in Wpg, they screwed up when they let Dru Brown play, he showed he was capable and became a starter elsewhere. That wasn't suppose to happen, he was scheduled to linger another year or two as a backup before being replaced by a more promising rookie.
