  1. Wasn't Rourke just coming off of a serious injury before that game? I think there was speculation he wouldn't play and Dane Evans would get the start. He couldn't do that last season, those days are over, he either sinks or swims with his vaunted arm.
  2. I've heard this story before, **** off Elon! Keep your **** in your pants and stop impregnating strangers!
  3. ...and they still haven't brought Chungh back, it's got to be about more than just money.
  4. Ford looks more like Tyrie Adams than a guy ready for the #1 job, he either doesn't fully understand the strategic purpose of the routes his receivers are running or can't commit to the play being called. Similar to his brother he seems to have a semi-focus on the play and over relies on his athleticism, which makes everything look like sandlot. 5. Brown's forte is finding open receivers and throwing accurate passes, but until his O-line provides better protection, he'd better make like Zach and be ready to roll out of the pocket at a moments notice. It's up to Condell to figure this out.
  6. Dru Brown is a basically a pocket passer, he tends to get caught flat footed when a defender breaks thru on him, leaving him vulnerable to sacks. Nothing wrong with his arm, but if he doesn't get enough time he can't hit the deeper routes.
  7. 100% turnover in the secondary from last season might not be the way to go.
  8. It's different, in most businesses the employee lives with their family, in professional sports the players often live far away from their family and support networks. Team full of young transient single dudes is going to behave much differently than a well established team loaded with married guys that already have kids.
  9. Like it or not Canadian players form the nucleus of most teams, they are the continuous thread that passes on knowledge of the game and team culture to new arrivals year after year. The good ones are hard to find, but once a team signs them they tend to hold onto them as long as possible, even if they only play ST. Americans players come and go as they're a more common commodity, most last 2-3 years before being replaced or moving on to other teams. There are exceptions like Willie, Stan and Biggie who recognize the benefit of staying in one place and take advantage of the opportunity to bond with the community, but most Imports don't ever achieve that status. O'Shea is a fan of stability, so he tends to hold onto all of his players longer than most and create a family atmosphere that actually includes families, it's difficult to view that practice as being a negative.
  10. I don't know, sound to me like mostly lip service, O'Shea brings in local players, praises them highly then usually kicks them out the door after TC never to be heard from again. Heck of a lot more young Sask. players developing throughout the league than there are coming out of Manitoba. Kornelson is the only young Manitoba player on the team right now that might develop into a CFL player, the Bombers are putting money into local football, but the end results don't seem to be materializing.
  11. Might be the last we ever hear of Zack Davis. HIGH PRAISE: O’Shea on Winnipeg Rifles DT Zack Davis, who practised with the club last year and continues to grow every day: “His progression from when he first started with us til now has been phenomenal and just terrific. I couldn’t be happier for him. He’s having fun doing it, he understands it better. His pass-rush skills from last year to this year have gone through the roof and any time you have a bit of success it keeps you wanting more. “I’m just really pleased for Zack. He’s an awesome teammate and a good guy to have around.”
  12. Brown makes the best of it, but hard to stay healthy or buy time when the 9:05 motors through at least once per quarter and runs the poor guy over. Hope O'Shea took notes, Mace is copying the Argo plan. O-line has to be solid from the start this year or they'll end up Zachless.
  13. Bob's riding a .357 record as HC, he'll be dodging bullets before the year is out.
  14. Tried it last year, week one I realized they don't stream all CFL games and it's not even close. CFL+ with a VPN you'll be able to watch about 95% of the games, I think the CTV games are blocked for some reason.
  15. He's too valuable where he is to move him to Safety IMO.
  16. Nah can't find fault with Ian, he plays at an all-star level and could play on any team in the league. Early season he had to compensate for Ford while he found his range, other than that he was a great performer.
  17. Honestly think that's why they're considering going 3 imports on the O-line, maybe not every game but they could pull a rabbit out of their hat whenever they play the Argos or Als, or any other team with a strong pass rush. If they lose the season series to these teams, good chance they lose the GC again.
  18. It has nothing to do with Awe's situation playing in the middle of a poor defence, Bombers had the best defence in the league last season, none of these 3 were exploited.
  19. Ian Holm led the team with 85 tackles, your next favourite Kramdi was second with 59, followed by BA at 57. If it was up to you none of these 3 would have been on the field.
  20. Parker has paid his dues and put in his time, he's been around since 2022 and has never become a full-time starter, after a full year of rehab, this is his big chance to establish himself as a team leader. People may have forgot but at one time he was the backup returner for Grant.
  21. I think Eli will remain a backup until the next best Natl. O-lineman displaces him. This pre-season clearly illustrated he's not likely to become a starter, couple of times every game he allows the guy he's blocking to waltz right by him and lay a solid lick on the QB. It's hard to gain trust when the QB is always worried about his backside.
  22. Don't know, but increased hang time also allows the returning team more time to get orientated and set up their blocking lanes versus a low level missile that half the returners don't even see, which adds confusion. Jon Ryan had the best hang time and distance of all punters, he wasn't highly valued when he returned from the NFL and it seems Sask. moved on from him fairly quickly in favour of an Aussie punter.
  23. This video put out by the CFL is going to thrill you! I honestly can't remember the last time Trevor Harris took a team anywhere, and he's played all over the league! Was he standing behind Henry Burris watching when the RedBlacks won the Cup in 2016?
