Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Fatty Liver replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Ian Holm led the team with 85 tackles, your next favourite Kramdi was second with 59, followed by BA at 57. If it was up to you none of these 3 would have been on the field. -
Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

Parker has paid his dues and put in his time, he's been around since 2022 and has never become a full-time starter, after a full year of rehab, this is his big chance to establish himself as a team leader. People may have forgot but at one time he was the backup returner for Grant. -

I think Eli will remain a backup until the next best Natl. O-lineman displaces him. This pre-season clearly illustrated he's not likely to become a starter, couple of times every game he allows the guy he's blocking to waltz right by him and lay a solid lick on the QB. It's hard to gain trust when the QB is always worried about his backside. -

Don't know, but increased hang time also allows the returning team more time to get orientated and set up their blocking lanes versus a low level missile that half the returners don't even see, which adds confusion. Jon Ryan had the best hang time and distance of all punters, he wasn't highly valued when he returned from the NFL and it seems Sask. moved on from him fairly quickly in favour of an Aussie punter. -
2024/2025 CFL (non-Bomber) Off-Season Thread

This video put out by the CFL is going to thrill you! I honestly can't remember the last time Trevor Harris took a team anywhere, and he's played all over the league! Was he standing behind Henry Burris watching when the RedBlacks won the Cup in 2016? -

It's clear, O'Shea did not want to break up Sergio's gang of 3, he could have easily moved on from Benson and Sheahan but it wasn't a big enough deal and he likes to keep the harmony established intact. Probably the same reason Kola has never been seriously challenged. -

I could be wrong, but I believe those words came directly from Derek Taylor, who I wouldn't call lazy. To his credit I believe he listens to fans and has improved the format of the Coach's Show, condensing the commercial breaks and also cutting down on the Foster Brooks call in feature. -
Paredes as well, until Stamps started losing regularly in the last few years rarely was he attempting FG's beyond 45 yds.

Other tidbits from the show, Global punter Evans refused PR offer, he signed with Riders today. Cooley was O'Shea's favourite player in pre-season, loved how he played without the ball, absolutely punished players he blocked. -

It's just a reprint of what O'Shea said on the Coach's Show last night, didn't you tune in??? If they didn't publish it, doubt anyone would know. -
Riders might compete, unfortunately they chose a rickety old wagon named Harris to get them to the playoffs. Fell short again.

One positive about Jordan Younger's defence over Richie Hall's, both the Safety and the MLB are playing more traditional roles. Saw it last season, the Safety is no longer run stopping 5 yds. off the line, and the MLB isn't attempting to cover fleet receivers 40 yds down field, as Bighill often did. This allows more traditional athletes to play those positions, no great need for a thumper at Safety or a super mobile MLB that can run a 4.6/40. By limiting the scope of duties, more candidates qualify. -

Kyle Sampson ended up on the Ti-Cat's PR, Walters can take him back if he wants to. -

Jarrett Doege walks in the door and within 4 days shows Dinwiddie he's a smarter QB than Dukes. 2 days days later Dukes is evacuated through that same same door. -
He always had a hard time staying healthy, lucky to get half a season out of him in most years.

He was never listed on the roster and still isn't. -
Waders27 game replay, no commercials.

Think of it this way, if he's on the PR he gets to hangout, compete and learn from professionals every day, plus he gets paid to train instead of having to work a side job to make ends meet. I don't believe in the history of the world any player has ever returned to the Rifles and bounced back to the Bombers a year later.

O'Shea affectionately referred to Kramdi as "a bit of a prick". “I love the way Redha plays football, his passion for the game. And he’s got that ability to be a prick, and that’s a good thing on the football field.” Asked today to expand a bit further on the ‘prick’ component, O’Shea added this: “It’s a term of endearment from me. When that gets that bestowed upon him, that’s very positive. It’s just that edge — not the penalty — just the edge, the desire to win your one-on-one and beat your opponent all the time and no quarter. You just want to beat them.” -
Send him back to the Wpg. Rifles and he might lose interest in football. No reason not to keep him on the PR and help him develop, he already looks better than Kornelson.
-
Both spent time on the PR last season and with game experience they now know they could be CFL starters if given the chance, with Sask. in a pickle don't like the odds of holding onto them if they go on the PR.
-
Lofton could be the loser if they can only keep 2 of himself, Randolph or Vanterpool, worse if they can only hang onto 1 of the 3, don't think any of them would accept PR.

3 stars and hh pre season finale, up in smoke
Fatty Liver replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
They're probably going to lose him either way, if they put him on the PR and another team claims him, he would have to say "no thanks", or the Bombers would have to roster him to protect him, which just isn't possible. If Logan and Peterson hadn't arrived at the same time, they would be more pressed to keep him. -

No doubt they're going to have to cut some excellent players on both sides of the ball that don't deserve to be cut and maybe a few vets to continue moving forward in the direction they have to go to remain competitive with other teams now and in the future. There should be a number of surprises. -
Cobb is dressing, I can't see Corcoron beating him out, they went out and got him for his versatility, he can play receiver as well as help out on returns. Probably best Corcoron can hope for is beating out Gassama for a PR spot.
