Chris Streveler - Has your opinion changed?
Fatty Liver replied to B-F-F-C's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
First they might want to introduce Streveler to Darvin, I don't think they've ever met. -
Amazing, the Esks. D-line not getting a finger on BLM, I was counting on them to lay a beating on him.
-
I think it was probably a concussion, he hit his head on the turf after he was bowled over backwards. Saw him on the sidelines at the end of the game without equipment,

Could be, but who's to say? He's certainly not likely to take the field and light it up in his first season, chances are he will see some action in the next 4-5 games and we'll get a better idea of his capabilities. -

I'm not sure it's sustainable, Streveler can't continue to take the amount of punishment he absorbs every game, he goes down and we're looking at McGuire. -
I think losing playmakers like Loffler and JSK has had a much bigger impact than people are willing to acknowledge, they were always there to back Bighill up which allowed him to roam more freely. I'm willing to give Wilson a pass but Hecht contributes almost nothing preventing the run or pass, he adds maybe 1 tackle per game and barely ever gets involved in the play. I'd rather see an Import at Safety or even young Exume who seems to have much more natural talent and plays with a real fire in his belly.

15 yard UR penalty at that time would have turned a punt into an easy FG from the Rider 35 as well. I can understand if the play is not challengeable but it should have been flagged by the Command Center.

Banjo Bowl is going to be nasty, O'Shea extremely upset over Rempel being taken out. Jump to 0:58 https://www.tsn.ca/video/riders-close-out-labour-day-classic-win-over-bombers-on-final-drive~1768927

Certainly didn't hurt having Loffler back him up last year, Hecht is good for one tackle per game and timing his arrival a split second after the play is over just in time to survey the damage.

Augustine had no holes to run through, Hughes and Johnson no longer pursue, they sit and wait for the RB or QB to run into their arms.

That's a killer, took points off the board.

Fajardo speaking in tongues after he mentions Gods presence in his life.....I heard the devil.
-
That was with Reilly "the chucker", what would that translate to in Bomber numbers......43 catches for 847 yds.!!!

Watson has been playing in the league since 2010, I think that deserves a little respect.

Those two are probably looking at pro-rated $250,000 contracts with outs at the end of the year, 3 or 4 balls per game may not be cost effective for the Bombers or attractive to either of them. I think Duke has been through this cycle twice before so he may be quicker to come back than Zylstra and finally give up chasing the NFL dream.

Recently re-watched that game, I think there are a couple of major differences. That was the second game of the season, the Als were a crappy team last year at the best of times, early season Als were a craptacularly bad team. We may hate the Riders but you have to admit they're playing decent ball right now. Als did not have much of a pass rush so Streveler had plenty of time to locate his receivers and get the ball to them. Riders have one of the top D-lines in the league and are going to bring pressure, so Strev. is not going to have the luxury of time to find open receivers, he'll have to move the ball quickly. The game could come down to ball security so I think it's most likely we'll see the same game-plan they employed against the Esks. which means run often and only throw when necessary.

I know, no sense trying to fool anybody, Bombers win this game on the run or they don't win at all. The more running weapons they can throw at the Riders the better.
