  1. Here is one rah rah never said he was good just better than Brohm sadly that is still the case.
  2. At least after he stunk up the joint, we could eat him…… assuming we win one of two against sask…. I figure we'll limp along to the end of the year with who we have. then can the offensive coach, (which solves all our problems according to some people here) …. this gets oshea one more year. we'll still be crappy next year, then Mike will be canned. If we lose both to sask, somebodies leaving involuntarily. that's my (admittedly relatively uniformed ) guess. coaches salaries have to be calculated into what they do as well. paying the fired guy, paying the new guy. ticket sales off. not good. Don't like to say it, but it's Hard to understand why they keep Brohm on the team. other than being a good guy, I can't see the point of keeping him around. Heck, I'm a good guy and can hold a clip board with the best and I would work a lot cheaper than Brohm. It would be nice to supplement my pension and I would be no less effective than Brohm. Can you shoot gophers with a football? Can we please stop the mud slinging? I think that they're talking about football slinging. More like football skipping.

  4. If your logic holds, that would mean that if Davis starts or even plays, we are down to desperation. Not beyond imagination. We are down to desperation already what do we have to lose?
  5. Ok who kept Marve here? Brohm? Who kept MB here after last year? How about starting 8 Cdn all year when we have arguably the worst Cdn talent in the league?Who didn't call a timeout against Cal that lost us a game?Who is ultimately the judge of the talent we have? Who left in Willy against Hammy in the second half when our Qb was getting killed.I get it MOS is a good guy but he ain't a good HC. The facts stand for itself crap if Popp was running this team would we still have MOS? Nope.
  6. I agree but the only problem is MOS will not fire his OC imo.He waited to fire Etch and I believe he will wait to fire MB,might not last long enough to get that chance though.
  7. What is the issue? In a word, talent. To be more complete: QB: Our starter is 3-1 when he starts and completes a game. He has the 3rd best efficiency rating and 5th best completion percentage among QBs with more than 25 passes, so the offensive schemes seem to work adequately enough for him to succeed. Problem is that we've played 8 games, not 4. We're 0-4 when he gets hurt or doesn't play. Buck Pierce syndrome all over again. With Willy we are competitive, without him, we are woeful (so far). He is tough but may be turning into a glass QB with the repeated pounding, and we do not have a serviceable back-up like Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton possibly (don't like Nicholls but they have kept winning), or even maybe Montreal (Kato has tailed off, but has shown more than anything we've thrown out there). Not enough depth here, therefore a talent problem. O-line: May be twice as good as last year, but as I always said when Zellers had a 2 for 1 sale on clothing, "2 of s#it is still s#it". No consistency, even from our so-called anchors (Bryant and Picard) and injuries here have exposed a lack of depth again. RB: Serviceable, but does anyone look at what we have and think "game-breaker who can put the team on his back" like you would with a Harris, Cornish, Messam, et al? WR/SB: On paper, looks OK, but no one looks at Denmark like he's a Bowman, McDaniel, Owens, Dressler, Grant, Green, Getzlaf, etc. who will get 14 passes and 100+ yards a game automatically and be "the guy", Moore is too injury prone to be considered a threat, and jury's out on Adams, but see Moore, Nick for injury comparable (in a limited sample). No big threat at Canadian receiver yet, just a couple of meal ticket guys (think Stoddard, not Cahoon). D-line: The whole is not greater than the sum of its parts. Turner can get a safety or be manhandled. Westerman can pile up the sacks, but have teams actively game-planned around his threat like an Elimimian, Foley or Odell Willis? LB: Or glorified DB's playing out of position, more accurately. Bass is good, no question, but the unit as a whole is nothing special. Hurl has been the whipping boy here all season, yet not enough depth to be able to replace him. DB: I like Adams, and Leggatt is solid no question, but still some glaring errors out there on coverages, notably from some vets (Washington comes to mind whenever a receiver is open deep and no DB within 10 yards of him on a clear blown coverage). Special teams: Your kicker is below 65% on converts, and yet not a whisper about his job security. Your best kick returner never gets to anymore because he has to play full-time DB due to a lack of depth at that spot to spell him off (Washington for those who didn't figure it out), your next best guy (based on performance this year, anyway) is not solid enough to be a starting receiver yet (Veltung), and your "starter" must have kidnapped the real Troy Stoudamire and is wearing his jersey this year. East/West may be a great tradition for the Grey Cup match-up, but it is a lousy philosophy for returning punts. Maybe someone should tell him - or bench him, if we had the depth to replace him, which I guess we don't. Based on your post the blame lies with Walters.Last time I looked though no GM has fired himself first.☺
  8. Kristian Matte was a first round pick in 2010 and didn't start until this year for Montreal. Bad pick??So, your point? We need to see what Goosen can do. What's Matte have to do with it.My point is that whether he is a bad pick or not cannot be determined this early in his career. I was using Matte as an example to illustrate that it can take time for a young Canadian OL to develop... Sometimes in the order of several years.Teams like Calgary & Montreal who used to have a strong OL can afford to wait 5 years for a draft pick to develop. Please don't compare Winnipeg's OL to the Stamps or Als. We desperately need our draft picks (especially the OL) to contribute & start quickly. We can't afford to develop a player for 5 years. So, while your point may be valid, it's difficult to apply it to the Bombers. So your argument is that to develop a great line like Calgary or Montreal, we should employ the total opposite draft strategy and only aim for picks ready to start right now? Seems counter intuitive to me. I don't know why we're even discussing this. The Bombers can't afford to wait on a draft pick for 5 years. It's a ridiculous premise. We don't have a 90 man roster where you can put project player after project player on some list getting them ready to play someday. We have a 5 million dollar salary cap & a limited roster. At some point a player has to show he belongs or he's cut because teams don't have the financial resources to spend on long, long term developmental players. And it's long before five years. The player you named in Montreal was lucky the Als gave him the time to develop as he's an exception. Most players don't get that luxury with Winnipeg or other teams. You also have to look WHERE we are drafting, top 5 picks gotta be faster starters than 3,4 ,5 rounders.
  9. Swiston hasn't looked good for Cal from what I've seen and if it wasn't for all their injuries he wouldn't be anywhere near their starting 5 imo.
  10. No way MOS cuts Picard. Just not the way he operates.
  11. No. I'd rather use more imports on the OL, even if it's someone who is inexperienced because our issue is at least as much physical as mental on the OL. People somehow magically think Gordon is going to transform into a better player than JFG this week, but he's been useless when the lights have been on in pre-season and regular season. I'm not sure if we had 5 Chris Walbys On the oline if it would make a huge difference we still have MB and his 50 schemes to get your qb killed...
  12. Ok I'm going to put a positive spin on Willie maybe he wasn't 100 % and now they want to bring him back to bust loose? There I tried.☺
  13. You know it doesn't seem to be as easy to get really good RBS as it used to be in the past. Not sure if the NFL holds on to them longer or keep more hybrid type RBS around which they didn't in the past.
  14. Y is it around here when someone has a different opinion good or bad people like you jump on it as trolling? This is a forum no? Or is it a kumbyas let's not breathe a word of criticism your a troll only forum? It's more a case of choosing to believe that no one could possibly be that stupid so it must be trolling for a reaction. It's not about differing opinions, it's about opinions so unbelievably stupid.Ok who gets to decide that you?Noeller? If it is someone trolling just don't react no? Is Doug Brown an idiot too? It's a slippery slope your traveling.Cant believe im doing this. Its not rocket science. Back up your opinions with reasoning or else your opinions are worthless. Pretty much everyone here with the exception of a few tend to say their piece.. Why they feel that way.. And debate it. They dont say their piece.. Refuse to explain it or ration it out.. Then cry foul when people call it crap. People dont butt heads with you because you have a difference of opinion.. HALF this board does usually.. Maybe more so.. They butt heads with you because not only do you have zero substance but you act like someone pissed in your coffee when they disagree with you.. Condecending, insulting and belittling dont really get people far on this board. Lastly and I cannot stress this enough... You are more then welcome to have a differing view point. Read any thread and you can see for yourself how this board functions. Your attitude is what I have a problem with and your arrogance.. From the guy who said leave him alone, man when it comes to arrogance your the last poster here that can claim innocence.Instead of attacking y not just let it go? You think MOS is a good hc fine I don't fine its done it's like a Tim Burke saga all over again. At the end of the year we will find out. I don't believe you're arrogant for what it's worth, I just think you're of that same erroneous school of thought that all opinions are valid. That's close but really I just think opinions are just opinions neither valid or invalid it's mostly based on their own skewed view of the world.I of course include myself in this view

  18. Your right was hoping that MOS was going to start changing things but nope I was wrong.
  19. Even makes more sense to split his reps though right?Doesn't matter who the starter is they'd split reps on day 1 of a long week (4 or 5 full practices).Sure if your talking about a Vet Qb yeah or a backup that can actually move the offense but that ain't the case here is it? But but but here we go.Brohm should be gone period. Wouldn't it make even more sense to spread the reps around then early in the week? Anyways, I'm done feeding this trolling garbage. If you want to talk football, join in anytime. No you promote Davis but whatever you want Brohm hey your probably going to get him.
  20. Even makes more sense to split his reps though right? Well, it's sunday and they don't play till saturday so yeah makes sense for sure. You want Brohm no problem have fun watching him play.Just saw your last post so yeah I understand you point then y not bump up Davis?

  23. Splitting reps between Marve and Brohm? I am not surprised. Que up the but but but defense of this act of lunacy.
  24. Well I will answer you based on my imo. What concerns my most about MOS besides his poor game decisions and actions is his ethier lack of being able to discern talent or mere utter stubbornness when it comes to players and coaches. My 2 coaches are Etch last year and Bel this year and last. Both coaches are clearly have costed this team dearly.Leaving Willy in against Ham when it was turnstile time on the QB and Willy wasn't 100 percent to begin with also makes me ? MOS commonsense. Last he still refuses to name Marve our no 1 when Marve has shown more in one game than Brohm in 2 years. LAST we still have Brohm like Wtf for? I'm afraid MOS ain't the answer here but we are gonna wait as usual here till its too late. How many times are you going to make the same point? Hardly anyone agrees with you. Does that make him wrong? Thnks, some posters feel you can have an opinion if it follows their own.
  25. Yep I'm really stumped on how it is perceived around here that we are in a better position here in bomber villa but it might change when we go to 3-6 unfortunately.man.. do you two ever get tired of being so depressed and pessimistic? id never wanna get outta bed lol.Too bad you do!Jk! Really I guess I'm spoiled I grew up in the Cal Murphy years and Mike Riley was my favourite coach of all the Blue coaches. I have seen the best and it's tough to witness all the years of sub par coaches since. Hey if I'm wrong about MOS I'll be actually pretty damn happy. We will see.
