Transformation Walters has done? As in roster or himself? I believe he was kind of forced last season to run with the guys we had because of previous regimes crushing of the depth.. I don't think for a moment Walters truly wanted the guys starting in key canadian spots actually staying there. I think when the injury bug smoked us, we were really between a rock and a hard place. I'm not sure what's unclear about my post there. I'm saying I love the upgrades Walters has done this offseason, in pushing guys who were starters last year, into backup/depth roles for this season.

I'm really liking the transformation Walters has done this offseason. Guys we relied on as starters last year have been pushed down into depth/rotational roles, where they are best suited. This includes guys like Sherman, Thomas, JFG and Peach.

Rookie Waud and Thomas on their own - not enough to move the ratio. Add Westerman? Now drafting Waud makes sense for this team. I'd sooner suggest that they will look at an all import secondary. Both of these are good problems to have. Keep coming up with good problems Walters - big thumbs up. I'd prefer Bucknor as a starter over JFG. I do like JFG though.

I would have had no problem with Walters giving up a 4th rounder. It does seem like a very low price tag.

Ya, I'm pretty sure Hurl will get one of the outside LB spots, not MLB. On this trade, the fact that we're trading prospects with a team like Calgary, tells me that our scouting staff is doing their job.

Considering the number of Canadians the Giants invited to their mini-camp, those dates are perfect (May 8-9). Let's just hope Walters or someone in the Bombers organization has some connections with he Giants to find out those players standings and likelihood of them getting offers, if they haven't already received them by May 12.

This is great news. Only 2 Canadians got actual contract offers, so it sounds like a majority of these mini-camp invites could turn into nothing, and CFL GMs should have a good indication of a players standing in the NFL right before the CFL draft on May 12.

According to Drew Edwards, Burris is making $450K per year. The others look about right to me.I believe Burris restructured this offseason where he got some extra bonus money against the 2014 cap, so that's likely where Penton got the $390k. So these aren't salaries for the year, but cap hit for the year. Generally speaking salaries are yearly pay plus bonus divided by years of a contract.You'd have to ask Penton. He refers to them as "salaries" in 2015.

Wow...this really changes things. NY Giants sure took a big bite out of the first round. I still say OL in the first for the Bombers, but after today Demski wouldn't shock me. Did Waud sign with an NFL team today?
