Draft Day Thread - - It's here, its now
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Will do. It just bothers me when someone talks to someone else a certain way. But I digress. I'll just ignore his posts from now on. -

My only problem with Mike is his condescending "know it all " approach to others, and how we have a 20 year old kid giving lectures to posters on these forums like he knows it all, and has life all figured out. His approach just rubs me the wrong way, and he's the only person on these forums that stands out like that because of his know it all attitude, and just dismissing other posters ideas. I think I might need to just start doing what you used to do with Mike's posts and just ignore them. And I get it he has his posse on here, who back him no matter what, so I'm going to lose any internet pissing contest, but that's fine with me. I'm here because I love the Bombers and love discussing Bombers, not to make any friends. Any chance of adding an ignore function on this forum? -
Who is your surprise training camp cut?
gbill2004 replied to Goalie's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Greaves and Neufeld won't be cut, but they both sure could lose their starting spots to Chungh and/or Goossen. I'm really starting to think it'll be Washington who is the surprise cut (as many have already said). -

Mike doesn't know as much as a lot of you guys think he does. Some of you guys treat him like he knows everything. He sure thinks he does, but he really doesn't. -
This board had a massive hard on for Peach last year, but not sure we need him now. With our depth he'd likely end up on the PR.

@SUNMitchell: Stamps sign WR Cory Mitchell (Bo's bro), WR Derrick Joseph, RB Tony Harrison. Release veteran LB Yannick Carter, OL Billy Peach. #CFL

RB/FB Christophe Normand (4th round, 33rd overall)

Bombers are calling him a RB. -

QB Jordan Yantz (undrafted camp invitee)
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I believe it is so teams don't abuse the 3rd string QB. 3rd string QB rarely sees the field so you could gamble to bury/dress a Canadian QB there so you can dress another DI. I've also seen it said that it is a collective bargaining issue and that the CFLPA doesn't want it to happen (don't know the rationale behind that) It is time they look at it and figure out a way to make it work. The Canadian football league should encourage Canadian QBs (like they do the other positions), not put them at a disadvantage. -

The 3 QB do not count for or against the ratio. -

Can someone please explain to me the rationale as to why a Canadian QB wouldn't count towards the minimum 21 NI's on a game day roster? -
REC Addison Richards (2nd round, 11th overall)
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He'd need to put on a bit more weight, but I agree that he could eventually fill that big/jump ball/end zone type WR role. -
OL Sukh Chungh (1st round, 2nd overall)
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yes that was my expectation. But seriously...a lot of rookie contracts are 3 years. -

Impossible to say. I'm not happy about the Morgan pick either because that's not who I wanted to see, but we can't say "so and so would've been available" - it's pretty obvious that draft boards don't play out anywhere near what the media and fans expect. So while I'm not thrilled with the pick, it can't be called a waste at this point. Agreed it's impossible to say, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't think we got the expected value out of that pick that I was hoping for, especially considering how much Walters was pumping how great this draft was. After sleeping on it though, I think Walters had a solid draft, but he didn't hit a home-run like I was hoping for. A home-run for me would have been Chungh, Demski and Shortill. That would have been an A+ in my books. Instead, I give Walters a B. How could Walters have picked Demski and Shortfall at 11 and 15 when they were already gone? You may as well say they should have picked Mateas, Chungh and McEwan. I'm saying that would have been a home run draft. But obviously Walters can't control who is picked where. -

Agreed, except Bombers didn't have a 3rd rounder. Kinda defeats the purpose of the swap of picks with the Riders in the Watson trade. We traded up for a 2nd round pick, but got 3/4th round value. -
OL Sukh Chungh (1st round, 2nd overall)

Well they're both posted at 1:22. I've also seen you complain about media not crediting you. It is fun seeing what a hypocrite you are. Mike knows all. Never question the all mighty Mike. Mike likes to make fun of others and judge others, but when Mike does the same it's perfectly normal. Gotcha Mike. Look in the mirror Mike, before you judge others. -

Where did you see that?Edit: Saw it from Bauming. That kind of sucks... Actually Cameron replied to me and Bauming got it from there. You asked.lmao did you seriously just tweet him "you're welcome"Yep. oh man, never change. It's for asking questions our media should be asking. Some of these media types in Winnipeg are terrible. I like Bauming, but how is it that a fan has to get that answer and not media. Seems like fans do their jobs a lot of the time. -

How happy are you with Walters' Draft work?
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Got to broaden his horizons a bit. We'll just introduce him to the concept of dating girls that you're not related to. Sure, there's that awkward "getting to know them" stage that you don't have with cousins, but on the plus side, if you decide to have kids, there no "What in the world...?" from the doctor during delivery. I highly doubt Taman dates. By the looks of his appearance in recent interviews, he's pretty much given up on life outside of the Riders. -

Labatte going to the Riders was much more complex than that. -

Who knows...had Morgan played a full season, he could have been a first rounder.
