We don't have a true number one receiver. We have a few #2-3 WRs but not a true number one. Moore was supposed to fill that role, but ideally he's a WR2 on a good team.

LB's are the least of our worries
I'm still fine with this.What's funny is that a few week ago multiple posters here were saying that we were fine with Sam Hurl and didn't need Henoc Muamba.

Why would Wild be expected to long snap? That was a disaster and should never happen again. Backup/emergency LS I'm fine with. Primary LS, no.Wild has the athleticism and instincts to play MLB, he may be a tad too small to play the position, particularly if he is expected to long-snap as well. Our best hope is that Bilikudi will show up, and that is no certainty.

Matthews signed a 3 year contract with Seattle this past offseason. Doubt he's back here anytime soon.

Funny how when I've done this to another member before, moderators, and some other members lecture me about how inappropriate it is, and how I need to be more mature etc. Funny how the ones doing most of the lecturing on this site are really the most messed up.Quite comical the post made 2-3 weeks ago (you know who you are) that actually stated there wasn't much difference between Nichols and Willy, not that tonight was needed as any proof to the contrary...

Before the season, O'Shea said he wanted Marcel back in order to give Drew Willy another year to grow in the same system.

Bellefeuille is Miller's boy, not O'Shea's. It's Miller's job to fire him.

Gotta factor in special teams, ratio management and contract status. O'Shea would have final decision. I do believe Hall is a Hurl supporter, from his time in Sask.I'm not a MOS fan but it would seem to me this falls on Hall no?

Bucknor only signed a one year extension last offseason, so he might not be back next year.

I like that idea. Pretty sure Waggoner can also play safety. Sherman can too.Any possibility that Bass could slip into the middle and put Wild in Bass's position. Gotta have your best players on the field, speaking of which should Leggatt stay at OLB and when Randle comes back put him at corner sit Bucknor and find a Canadian safety.

Wild sits because him and Bass play the same position. Not because of Hurl who is a MLB. Wild doesn't have the size to play MLB consistently.

So you think you've now proven a point based on 1-2 games? lol. Nichols hadn't thrown an interception in his previous 4 games, prior to last night. Sure he had a bad game last night. In his post game interview, Nichols said they prepared the entire week for Ottawa to play man defense, because that's what Ottawa has done all year. Instead Ottawa came out playing zone. It took Marcel an entire first half to adjust to that. Wow.
I still think Nichols is starter material in this league with a competent OC. Marcel handcuffs the entire team. Willy has lots of warts too; he isn't some proven, elite stud QB just yet.
GBILL - I'll say it again (not that you'll take heed to my comments). I'm an ESKIMO season ticket holder. I've WATCHED Nichols a lot longer than you have. I know what he's all about. I haven't / won't say anything because most people here don't listen to me anyway. All I'll say is this (again) - Mr. Nichols is far far better than any QB we have in Wpg not named Drew Willy and gives us the best chance to win. This is NOT a complement to Nichols, this is a slap in the face to the Wpg Blue Bomber organisation who haven't recruited and developed their OWN QB in 3 decades.
There's a reason why Nichols was traded in mid season to the Bombers for a 7th round pick. I still think it's a great trade for Wpg. I still think it doesn't really matter. Though secretly I was hoping he'd (Nichols) would have some success - but he's doing the same things he was doing here. He'll make good plays, he'll make good throws, and he'll also get stubborn and throw balls he shouldn't. His other weakness - he has no leadership qualities - the team here in Edmonton did not respect him at all. All you need to do is re-watch the absolute and utter destruction of the Wpg Blue Bombers here in Edmonton a few months back and the difference in the Eskimos play when Franklin came in in the second half.
But you all have your own opinions. I have mine. Nichols is a fine backup QB for us, he won't be replacing Drew Willy, or any other starter, in the league, unless that team wants the first overall pick.

There were a few factors that lead to Nichols being traded to the Bombers for a 7th rounder. I'm not saying Nichols is some stud QB. All I'm saying is that there isn't MUCH of a drop off between him and Willy, in terms of giving us the best chance to win. Both QBs bring different strengths and weaknesses to the table. I think people here are overrating Willy a bit, and not giving Nichols enough respect. I'm trying to look at this objectively...what exactly has Willy accomplished to date?? Personally, I like both QBs, and I'll be getting a Willy jersey next year. I'll be ecstatic if both are with the Bombers next year, and if so, I'd expect Willy to be the starter. But at this point, there isn't much a drop off from Willy to Nichols IMO. If Willy learns to get rid of the ball quicker, he could be deadly, but until that happens, that's a pretty significant flaw in his game. Nichols has his flaws as well.

I agree 100% with this.Nichols ability is unfortunately being masked by a crappy offensive system and at best an average receiving corps. Last night he threw the ball away way too often when unable to find an open receiver. Conversely, Burris always seemed to find an open receiver even on the run and when you thought for sure the play was doomed.
Now are our receivers not coming back to the QB if he's scrambling or are they just not getting open? I don't mean to pick on Nick Moore but I noticed a few plays when Moore was not putting any effort in to his route. I saw the same thing from Denmark and Kohlert. With these new PI rules the advantage is to the receiver yet we still seem to be losing the battle.
I still think Nichols is an above average QB but we'll never know for sure in this offence. Thoughts?
Note: Liked the play of the O-line last night.

You know what they say about guys with small hands...Glenns tiny hands in the cold and rain would have been even worse than Nichols performance.

Playing from behind and trying to force things will do that to a QB. I've seen Willy do the same.I have come to the conclusion that when Nichols feels pressure and tries to make things happen, he comes unglued and throws picks. Much like Glenn he looks decent when nothing is on the line but neither handles stress well. Injury replacement looks to be Nichols ceiling.

I'd give O'Shea another year. Bellefeuille needs to go. It becomes clearer every game that he's the problem.What is the solution?
Clearly MB needs to go, but should O'Shea join him?

Here are the top-10 candidates with four weeks to go in the 2015 CFL season:
1. QB Henry Burris, Ottawa RedBlacks
Burris is supposed to be twilighting. He’s supposed to be selling insurance. After all, he’s 40 years old. He’s not, though. The Spiro, Okla., native is wheeling and dealing and completing a career-high 71.6% of his passes in his 16th CFL season. One year after being essentially left for dead, a few weapons and a new offensive co-ordinator in Jason Maas later, and Burris has enjoyed one of the finest seasons of his career.
2. QB Trevor Harris, Toronto Argonauts
He’s completing a ridiculous 72.1% of his passes in his first season as a starter, but Harris has proved lately that he’s more than just a product of head coach Scott Milanovich’s system, throwing 31 touchdown passes and impressing in crunch time. If the Argos win the East Division, he may be the favourite. No one is missing Ricky Ray these days, and the Boatmen have a doozy of a decision looming when both QBs are free agents this off-season.
3. SB Eric Rogers, Calgary Stampeders
The California Lutheran product leads the CFL in receiving yards by a wide margin — he has about 300 yards of cushion — and has piled up 76 receptions and eight touchdowns. The amazing thing about Rogers’ exploits is that he’s doing it at the age of 24. The quarterbacks lead the way, but Rogers’ final numbers will be pretty.
4. QB Bo Levi Mitchell, Calgary Stampeders
Mitchell’s early-career exploits have raised the bar so high that it’s almost impossible for the man who was named the top player in the CFL by TSN coming into the season to meet those expectations. That said, Mitchell is third in the league with 21 touchdown passes and has led the Stamps to the second-most points in the CFL up to this point.
5. RB Andrew Harris, B.C. Lions
This is where it gets dicey. As a football team, the Lions simply aren’t very good. But as a player, Harris has been fantastic and leads the CFL with 866 rushing yards. He’s a ratio breaker and a dual-threat problem for defences, but probably not the MOP.
6. RB Jerome Messam, Calgary Stampeders
His team is now the Stampeders, but Messam became the league leader in yards from scrimmage with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who dealt him west at Wednesday’s trade deadline. Messam is the most physical RB in the league by far.
7. SB S.J. Green, Montreal Alouettes
The Alouettes are a team that’s built on defence and running the football this season. But that hasn’t stopped the league’s highest-paid receiver from piling up 60 receptions for 935 yards, good for second in the CFL behind Rogers. The QB carousel hasn’t affected Green.
8. SB Marquay McDaniel, Calgary Stampeders
Rogers, Mitchell and Cornish get the attention in Calgary, but folks need to stop sleeping on the best chain-mover in the game. He’ll likely never provide enough highlight-reel plays or numbers to actually win the MOP, but he should be at least in the conversation.
9. DE Jamaal Westerman, Winnipeg Blue Bombers
After an extended NFL foray, the Canadian pass-rusher returned to Canuck country this season and hasn’t disappointed one bit, notching 14 sacks thus far to lead the league. He’s definitely the Bombers’ MOP in 2015.
10. WR Emmanuel Arceneaux, B.C. Lions
He started slow, but the Manny Show has been prime time lately, notching four-straight games of more than 90 yards as the Leos hunt down the final playoff spot in the West Division. A couple more huge games and he’ll be neck and neck with Harris for team MOP.
