They're unionized.

Anderson, Brohm, Bucknor and Wild are all priorities.

Agreed. Peach can stay but he should be playing a much smaller role than he did this year.

How Good is MOS at Evaluating Talent?
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Since there was a spark every time that guy went in, and the team had come back wins from his play, I think this is another screw up by the coaches, not playing him more. I would like to hear the coach explain what this guy lacks that they don't play him more. stupid decision. O'Shea explained that earlier in the season. They play Watson over JFG because Watson is a much better blocker. -
I'd like to see a starting OL next year consist of: LT - Daniels LG - Greaves C - Morley RG - Goossen RT - Import OL 6th - Neufeld I've got Neufeld as 6th because he's having trouble staying healthy.

2015 season ticket and Grey Cup ticket pricing info
gbill2004 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No, Pinnacle seats are one step up from P1 seats. Pinnacle are the best seats. P1 are second best, according to the new structure. -
I just spoke with rep with the Bombers...some very interesting information. The Bombers are restructuring their entire price structure and seating map for 2015. For example, my P2 seats in section 129 are now considered P1 seats and the price is going from $814 per seat in 2014 to $1092 in 2015, an increase of almost $300 per seat! Good news is that I'm "grandfathered" in the 2014 pricing as long as I keep the seats and/or stay in the same price point. The former P1 seats are now called "Pinnacle" seats. End zone pricing will be frozen again in 2015, so essentially those tickets are going down in price with every other section going up. I was also told that my Grey Cup seats will be priced at $399 per seat (pending league approval so not 100% official yet), but that goes down to $299 if I commit to my season tickets for the next 3 years. Season ticket holders will be receiving this information within the next week or two. Official Grey Cup pricing will be out in January.

I found this list on the Winnipeg Sun website: DT Zach Anderson WR Romby Bryant QB Brian Brohm CB Matt Bucknor LB Mike Cornell LB Desia Dunn OL Gord Hinse OL Glenn January WR Aaron Kelly QB Josh Portis LB Johnny Sears LB Rene Stephan OL Devin Tyler RB Carl Volny DB Demond Washington LB Ian Wild

Is there a list anywhere of all the pending Bomber free agents? We signed a lot of new guys this past offseason so they should all be on at least 2 year deals. Based on what I've heard through various sources, these guys would all be free agents: Glenn January Dan Knapp Jarvis Jones Brian Brohm Johnny Sears Aaron Woods Desia Dunn Anyone know if Kuale signed a one or two year deal? If there's one guy I hope we never see around the team again, its him.

How Good is MOS at Evaluating Talent?
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So you think this is a 14-3 team with a MLB, Cotton and a new DC? I may have exaggerated slightly, but I firmly believe Bombers are a 10 win team with those adjustments. A few stupid moves cost us the playoffs this year. -
How Good is MOS at Evaluating Talent?
gbill2004 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I believe that playing Grigsby and Kuale as long as he did and not playing Sears cost the Bombers 3-4 games. Etch is responsible for another 3-4 himself. -
I was thinking three. How long after the season ends are coordinators typically fired?

Really? Is it that ridiculous to think that passing yards are overrated when evaluating a quarterback? Or that Willy needs to make better decisions with the ball in his hands? yes. Passing yards are one of the biggest numbers for a qb, the others on that level are going to be completion % and tds in my mind. You want a qb who can complete passes and throw tds. Yardage just goes along with the completing passes. ... And what you DON'T want is someone who throws a lot of interceptions. Passing yards tend to be the first thing that the average fan looks at when evaluating a quarterback, even though there are clearly better methods of evaluation. People who throw the ball a lot, throw more pick's. The same 4 qb's that have the most attempts are listed in different order in the ones with the most int's. Throwing the ball has its risk's. If the bombers offensive strategy is to throw a lot, then the int numbers will stay higher than normal or higher than teams that don't throw as much. Willy most picks, 3rd in attempts. glenn 2nd in picks 4th in attempts. ray most attempts 3rd in picks. burris 4th in picks 2nd in attempts. same 4 guys in yardage. ray, willy, glenn, burris. A QB who throws a lot should also score more than a few touchdowns. That's why the TD-INT ratio lends to a relatively fair evaluation. As I've already shown, there's much more correlation between the TD-INT ratio and the outcome of a game than between total passing yards and the outcome of a game. Why can't everyone simply agree that Willy needs to improve his decision-making? I agree and Drew Willy does too. He said his decision making was the number one item he needs to work on after last weeks sack-fest.

@PentonKirk: The #Bombers have released LB Will Smith, apparently so he can re-join the Dallas #Cowboys practice roster.

Heenan & Holmes won't re-sign before free agency

I'll guess $200-300k under the cap. -
LOL! The MOS Bromance Award!

In Peyton Manning's rookie year he passed for 26 TD and 28 interceptions, 3700 yards. The following year he threw for 26 TD and 15 INT's, 4100 yards. Several other elite QBs had similar rookie years then went onto hall of fame careers. I have hope for Willy.

This. We know Willy is #1 and coming back next year, so why play him in a meaningless game? Get Brohm some real game time to see if we want to open the wallet for him. Give Marve some real game time to see if we need to chase someone else during the off-season. Willy is already QB1. I just don't see the reason to play him. Nothing of real value will be learned at this point about him.Brohm is done for the season with a broken thumb. I knew that. But he doesn't show up as injured on the TSN list (I just put him in my fantasy thing cuz I am so far down the list I want to see how bad I can get). If you knew that why did you recommend playing him this week?

Bob Young Comments on CFL Officiating - Not Good Enough
gbill2004 replied to Rich's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
CFL.ca Staff TORONTO -- The Canadian Football League announced today two executive fines. Toronto Argonauts General Manager Jim Barker has been fined $2,500 for violating the league’s sideline policy by positioning himself on the goal line directly behind an official, and attempting to communicate with that official, during play #130 of last Saturday’s game between the Argos and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Barker has also been informed that he will not be permitted on the sidelines during play for the remainder the Argos’ 2014 regular season and post season. Hamilton Tiger-Cat Owner Bob Young has been fined $10,000 for public comments criticizing CFL officiating. -

Just wondering how much the board is laughing uproariously after they found out the club had lost over half a mil because the ones who know nothing about the game did not bother showing up for the last two games. But again, thinking about how things have gone in the past you might be right. Some on the BOD could be laughing. If Bombers can't pay the bills because of poor attendance, David Asper could own the team soon.

O'Shea said today he sees Drew Willy as the Bombers MOP with Denmark coming in second. I can't really disagree. Thoughts?
