Bombers Rookie Camp/Training Camp/Pre-Season Thread

You're the perfect 'there there, everything is going to be alriiiight'. 🙂 -
I agree. I guess the constant challenge in this world of ours in adopting this ideal yet blanket approach you nicely articulate is sometimes the "other side" is not even a side. This would be a fantastic discussion to have in and of itself. What determines that something is a side to be mixed with other sides to be brought to the middle together and what determines nope not getting a seat around the table with that absurdness. I think @blue_gold_84 called it the paradox of tolerance. I think the nuance here I'm getting at is it's more than tolerance, it's actually knowing when we all need to flex a bit to get to the middle not just tolerating each other to ultimately achieve that goal of constantly bettering society as a whole.. Presenting something as a perspective, as an opinion, as another lens that has no basis in fact, no basis in reality, no basis in being a well thought out perspective is not 'another side'. This is not unique to any type of person/group. Overtime we've all been guilty of doing this with varying levels of severity and negative impact but I would argue some people, some groups are way more consistent in presenting something as an 'another side' 'another lens', 'another perspective' when in fact it's not, it's simply just absurdness with clear motives to achieve some nefarious objective. Just my 2c

Excerpt taken from a story by Fatma Khaled Newsweek quoting Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (bolded part my doing): "We asked for the document a month ago. It's been subpoenaed and he [FBI Director Christopher Wray] ought to respond to a...subpoena," he said. "We're doing the constitutional job of oversight. I have read that document...and as an unclassified document, he admits it exists. And we aren't interested in whether or not the accusations against Vice President Biden are accurate or not. We're responsible for making sure the FBI does its job." Doing their constitutional job? Sure, let's go with that.

Bob Cameron agrees with this post. 🙂 -
I assume that kid was signed immediately after this.

Nope not really saying that. Just saying imho Chevy might want to start off every press conference (and maybe he does my apologies) saying something like, "look ultimately we are trying to bring a cup to Winnipeg and that takes hard smart work. So let's look at how far we've come, some of the things we need to get better at and where we still have to go for that to happen. Then he can go into his usual we're better than you think we are stance.
-
Difference being this is not at the GM level, Maurice wasn’t fired, he resigned. Not to mention the fact didn’t they go hard for Trotz not to mention the fact Bowness is no slouch himself. When’s the last time we heard Chevy wants to bring the cup to Winnipeg? If he says this regularly in his press conferences that’s great because that’s ultimately what his job is to do.

If I can't grandstand if front of people so I can throw out gotcha's and red meat filled with catch phrases quoting authors from my reading list for the non critical thinkers who are unable to understand problems are sometimes simple, sometimes complicated, sometimes complex and sometimes wicked, what else is there to do?

Holy F. Thanks social media for giving dumb a platform.

I thought I hated the Leafs until reading these last couple of posts. Yowzers.

Hey while you single out Alberta, why don’t you (insert another province, another country) in how bad they are. It’s such a nonsense and garbage argument that you think Alberta is worse than (see above insert). The everyone’s just as bad argument where you can’t provide facts and try to influence meaningful change without identifying other wrong doings (most times not of equal weight) and do something about that issue as well. If you don’t deal with it all you’re a hypocrite.

A lot what I hear constantly is Notley, NDP, Liberals, non conservative supporters have and are going to kill businesses, stop the production of Oil and Gas, massive tax increases for average Albertans other doom and gloom nebulous disparaging socialist catch phrases resulting in businesses closing down and/or leaving this province resulting in massive layoffs, individual freedoms lost. All of the not well thought out stuff DS, PP and their gang say and do is either supported, tolerated and/ or white noise.
-
Great statement here looking at it from the ground floor people level. Lazy thinkers who only believe what they want to see and hear completely brush this off and/or ignore. Again, we are all guilty of this but some are waayyyyy more guilty than others with this in a consistent and frequent manner. This is not a everyone's equally bad issue.
-
Govern all Albertans or just those who voted UCP? This is why we run elections so the people who are elected can represent the voices of their district to the table.
-
Picture of him in actual Jail would be preferable.

I don't see how this is an upgrade but what do I know. And what exactly is Shanahan's role other than what his title says?
-
There is actually a grain of truth in this for how some non-critically thinking people view others. It's weird.

I'll take a crack at it. Some examples of 'extreme/radical far left': Disrupting oil and gas thru protest and/or violence. PETA Green Peace Any protests and/or violence when it comes to gender sexuality freedoms for people, movements like BLM, All Lives Matter, Pro Choice etc etc. I'm sure there are other examples, these just off the top of my head. Even suggesting people like Trump and his enablers are dangerous can also lead to being tagged as a radical lefty. Weird.

Excerpt taken from a story by Leyland Cecco in Toronto entitled 'United Conservatives’ narrow Alberta win sets up conflict with Trudeau': 'More than 1 million registered voters did not vote in the election, Shaffer said'.

That's what I thought. You said your position was he was spreading disinformation but won't/can't back it up with his posts to support that. To you that's up to Tracker. This is the current environment we live in.
-
Can you provide the post (s) that @Trackersaid DS said this during the campaign to verify your position that he is spreading disinformation?

PP's argument for not getting security clearance so he can get fully briefed on all the facts behind foreign interference is he won't be able to share what he learns with Canadians. Could he not still get briefed and from what he learns be even more laser focused on what needs to be shared with Canadians balanced with the importance of confidentiality and security issues for this Country? Like use his Brains and other Big Brains around him. It's not just some big free for all in terms of access to information nor is it everything needs to be clamped down and nothing at all shared. Both JT and PP need to work together on this and do their damn jobs to serve all Canadians no matter the political flag one fly's under. FFS

When businesses fail in Alberta its the fault of Trudeau and Singh (or just simply NDP/Liberal), the four year provincial NDP reign and all the Albertans who voted for these anti business parties. When businesses succeed in Alberta its because of their own doing, the merits of a capitalism model and conservative governments at the provincial and federal levels.
-
I blame it on the four years of Alberta NDP rule and also blame the four years of NDP rule for all the other bad things that have happened in this province historically over time, that are presently happening now and the bad that will happen in the future.

Right on cue with the victim strategy. I really don't enjoy your style of engagement and how you respond to requests to back up your opinions and I'm sure you feel the same with me.
