  1. The courts would be jammed and only the lawyers would make any money.
  2. I hope the Republicans get blown out of the water, period, and collapse altogether. Way too much rot in their politics and ideology now, and the last thing they are is fiscally conservative (4 of the 5 largest spending deficits in US history were under Trump, both Bushes, and Reagan to my understanding). Time for the party of angry old white men to disappear to the dustbin of history.
  3. I just love how Trump has been daring the DOJ to do stuff and they have called his bluff every time and exposed him more. “Release the warrant!” OK, here it is showing probable cause ”Show the underlying affidavit” OK, bet you thought we wouldn’t because it would expose sources, but here is a redacted version approved by a judge which shows we had plenty of grounds and that your “total co-operation and declassification” were all lies ”Get a special master to view docs or explain why one should not be used” OK, here is our brief outlining your criminal conduct, complete with photos of how you ”stored” classified top secret human source info on your office floor and endangered lives. Any other requests? Unhinged Trump without his handlers to protect him from his own base instincts is the best Trump to watch, especially when he has no actual executive power to dictate things.
  4. @White Out don’t know you personally, but if you need to talk about anything, don’t hesitate to reach out. Or PM if you want to keep it more confidential. Maybe a break from the cesspool that is the internet and the slings and arrows that can be found on a message board for a bit might be a good idea. Hang tough, be well, and know that people will listen.
  5. Not sure their trademark would be legally binding in all circumstances (the Bombers did have blue end zones in Canadinns when the trademark was already active), but interesting articles about it. Thanks for those. In any event, with the Bisons (brown and gold) and Valour (maroon, gold and black) sharing the field, blue would make no sense for them when they play.
  6. Well, I don’t have the firsthand knowledge of every team’s salary cap room like you do, so I can’t make an educated comment knowing we have more money than everyone else. Unless you are just guessing yourself. But if Streveler loves us so much and just wants to be a part of something, he had that option to run back here after Arizona cut him, and after Baltimore cut him, and after Miami cut him. And yet he isn’t back. And His New York performance has him in higher profile for the NFL than anything he has done since he got bumped down to 3rd string in Arizona, so I would be very surprised to see him run back north now given his NFL profile is higher now than it has been in the past 2 years. But you know sources personally as you say, so I’d love to hear who it is and what exactly they are saying as to why Winnipeg is the only place he wants to be.
  7. The question is not how many NFL guys come up here and the. Go down for a shot. The question was how many play (or start off) in the CFL, go down and play a bit in the NFL, get cut, come back up to the CFL, play some more here, then go back down yet again after 2 CFL stints. That list seems quite short (other than Kongbo and Juran Bolden - who played one year here before he was even eligible for the NFL draft, so a different scenarios, I can’t think of others). That is the path people are suggesting Streveler should take.
  8. To my mind, that career path is the exception. Off the top of my head, guys who played here, went south, took their shot, then came back never to get another shot include Ty Jones, Milt Stegall, Henry Burris, Casey Printers, Winston Rose, Duke Williams, etc. Can’t think of numerous guys who had a shot, came back, and went back down again.
  9. I’ve highlighted why this is not viable. Winnipeg gives him the smallest opportunity to even play. Collaros is our starter, and the league’s highest paid player. Every other team would afford him more opportunity to play. Sitting on the bench or running the odd 3rd down sneak will not give him more exposure. And if he wants a “familiar offence” to step into, then Ottawa is the best fit of coaching he knows and starting opportunity. And if short term is his only goal, then BC is the best fit, since their star is gone for this year but is still their future if he doesn’t bolt for the NFL himself.
  10. NFL teams have 3 years of film on him, the good and the bad. Coming back up North after his performance in NY will not raise his profile.
  11. Mathematically, they have not clinched. But in practical reality they are making the playoffs are comfortably in position to host a playoff game at this point.
  12. I heard all about loyalty and the FIFO/team guy stuff with Kenny Lawler and Andrew Harris as well, how’d that turn out? Players go where the best money and opportunity to play lies, not where the fan base will jerk them off the most. Streveler’s best opportunity for cash and playing time is pretty much anywhere but here. We have more “legit starter money” tied up in our QB than any other CFL team, if that is your reasoning for why he wouldn’t sign elsewhere. You are exactly describing the way he was used before, and want a return to it now as “change of pace”. How loving his skill set and how he was used and saying his game was ruined in the same breath makes zero logical sense (although I know that where LaPo criticism is concerned, a lot of it is overblown emotion and over exaggerating certain flaws and ignoring positive factors). I have a hunch Streveler doesn’t feel he was “ruined”, showcasing the skills he had in LaPo’s “change of pace” playbook landed him an NFL gig, after all. As for better than we have, what has Dru Brown done to be cast aside this year? His one appearance under duress in the last minute led to a well-executed, game winning drive, and he knows the playbook here. When Streveler got his shot as a starter in 2019 with all the pressure on him, he failed, especially when forced to rely on him arm alone. That’s why LaPo tailored a game plan to his bull running skill set (to much more success) and why Walters went and got Collaros instead of staying with Streveler. Both those decisions won us a Grey Cup. Streveler has shown great strides in his passing oven his 3 years of maturing and practice at the NFL level. Would love to see him back, but it’s a pipe dream at this moment while he still has any NFL options open to him. Had he crapped out in New York instead of performing as he did, I could see him giving up the dream, but the exposure he got has extended his NFL window for at least another year. Returning to the CFL would probably be a signal to NFL teams that he is no longer interested in staying down there. But if he comes back now, Winnipeg will not be where he lands. It would make no sense compared to his other options in terms of maximizing his opportunity to ply and get paid well.
  13. Hilarious that certain posters here continually rip LaPo for making Streveler a “gimmick QB” and ruining his pass game (a dumb take, BTW), and now people are clamouring to get him back up here to join the Bombers - to be a gimmick QB in the 2QB or tight end formation and play special teams.
  14. Aside from fulfilling the wishes of the Streveler worshippers, why in the world would his best CFL option be Winnipeg? So he could sit on the bench doing nothing while Collaros gets every game rep? BC needs a QB right now, Edmonton would easily upgrade with him there, as would Ottawa, and Hamilton and even Saskatchewan might take a look. About the only teams not looking for a QB upgrade are Winnipeg and Calgary. Toronto and Montreal likely to run with what they have now but he would be competitive there. Streveler will do what’s best for him, not what Bomber fans want him to do for them. Don’t see him coming here at all if he is looking to play. And If he just wants to sit and wait for the next NFL gig, he would be better served sniffing around there rather than tying himself to a CFL contract until November.
  15. Wonder if any of this is connected to the Normand fallout?
  16. Yeah, was going to say we will already finish better than 2 Eastern teams since with their head-to-head games they have left, at least 2 teams will end up with 9 or more losses. But an Edmonton loss tonight gets them to 8 losses as well, so the win next week clinches 4th on the West. It’s really all a matter of time at this stage of the game, given how far ahead we are of the dregs of the east and Edmonton.
  17. Thinking the same thing. But in his defence he is so focussed on tightroping down the sideline he really can’t look around to see a teammate, much less keep his balance. BTW, if the score holds and Edmonton loses, a Bomber win next week clinches a crossover playoff spot for them. In game 12!
  18. Those aren’t real fans, they are bandwagon jumpers looking for any flimsy stupid excuse to whine and justify quitting on their team. Refusing to follow them because of a name change? Moronic. They were leaving anyway, this is just their convenient “anti-woke rebellion” excuse.
  19. It was “dress up as a green seat” night tonight apparently. Makes Toronto look like a flash mob by comparison.
  20. You’re cherry picking and mis-characterizing a comment as “anger” to pick a fight with me, again. 😁 Shall we continue splitting hairs or just move on now?
  21. Of the ref thinks the play is dead, they blow the whistle. You never “wait and see”, because then players could get hurt. It’s ridiculous to say they shouldn’t have stopped the play. The call on the field is incomplete pass, you blow the play dead.
  22. Can’t stream the BC radio cast? And how are you typing to this blog then? Voice command?
  23. Actually, BC is 1st (14) or 2nd (9) in 23 of 32 defensive stats, Bombers are 1st in 7 and second in 6. But some are totals rather than average and BC has played fewer games, and weaker overall competition so far, so all highly subjective. I still give the edge to Winnipeg, but Naylor’s comment isn’t the outlandish statement some would suggest. BC is a very solid team on both sides of the ball and not going away just yet.
  24. A tad shorter? And the sun is a tad hot. My biggest flaw (and your all’s biggest burden to read) as a blogger. DoD certainly is a master at short prose.
