  1. The spike to the groin was hilarious enough, then the shove to knock him down was the supposed cherry on top. But when the flag came out and it was Bell that got the taunting penalty after all that - well, you have the greatest self-own play in football history.
  2. Tickets and Moose Jaw hotel booked in May. Also got tickets to the Touchdown Manitoba social already. Going to be a party!
  3. Here’s a stat: Bombers are the 12th team to win 15 games or more in a regular season. The prior 11 are 8-3 in the division final, and have made the last 8 straight trips to the Grey Cup.
  4. Me waking up and knowing game day is finally here:
  5. They shouldn’t dismiss the runoff in Georgia. With Manchin as a Republican swing vote often and Dem in name only, they could use the extra seat.
  6. In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel I’m thinking:
  7. Toronto social media getting in on the fun the day before the game:
  8. Just because they are called edibles does not mean you should take them for a bedtime snack.
  9. Good for Toronto that they sold out their original 19,000 seat allotment and are expanding capacity bit by bit by opening up sections. And they’ve arranged a pre-game hip-hop concert and sweater giveaway for the first 10,000 through the gates. Baby steps, but at least they are trying.
  10. The notoriously inaccurate Ticketmaster is showing just over 2,500 seats left for the game. And in the East, the club opened up the east side upper deck, and Ticketmaster showing less than 400 seats available to purchase stadium-wide at BMO.
  11. Ed Tait yesterday on the radio at 7pm said they sold just over 30,000 tickets so far.
  12. If Sportsnet does for the CFL what they did for the NHL broadcasts, hard pass from me. Although they way overpaid for the rights, their production and panels IMO are awful. And the last thing I want is resident malcontent Arash Madani becoming the Sportsnet face of “let me tell you why the CFL is irrelevant, bring on the XFL” every time he opens his mouth when he covers the league.
  13. 3 things not mentioned that are important to consider: 1. Ratings are down in part compared to last year because Saskatchewan was not playing. Rider and Bomber games always draw the most eyeballs 2. The ratings do not account for streaming of games, which negatively affects the numbers. Actual total viewership will be higher than what the ratings reflect. And most importantly: 3. The CFL western final had better ratings than every other single sporting event on that day - including all the NFL games, and Maple Leafs game, and a Raptors game. League of course has issues, but adding some context puts those numbers in a much more positive light.
  14. Fetter man’s win over Oz in Pennsylvania and flipping a seat gives the Dems some cushion in the Senate. But if Walker squeaks out a win over Warnock, that advantage is gone.
  15. Didn’t think I would be able to say this at any point this season - Jets are 1st in the Central!
  16. Get this on the jumbotron during the game. Bombers’ Twitter guy, make this happen!
  17. That’s his rugby background.
  18. I believe that some seats are held back for the visitors who may have a number of seat requests for family and friends. Once the opponent becomes known the number of seats needed will crystallize and some previously unavailable seats will open up to the general public. Besides, lots of fans buy seats and then just stand in the North concourse the Rum Hut, so there is always walk-up space in the end zone seats, even in a sell-out. But the best sight lines are middle of the field, even in (I think especially) the upper decks.
  19. Per Ticketmaster, based on currently available seats (always subject to change based on opening up held seats that are currently not for sale) there are around 3,300 seats left, so we are over 30,000 sold for Sunday as it stands now. As always, this is an unofficial count.
  20. Was going to ask you as an insider, do the Bombers quietly resent not being talked about, or is this just a fan mentality of “we get no respect and we have a chip on our shoulder about it”? This club does not seem to need to beat its chest and say “told you we were the best, despite the media ignoring us”. They just go about their business and could care less about the chatter, and tune out the noise. The only exception seems to be A. Harris in 2019 calling out the “haters” for the abuse he took after failing the drug test, and he carried that chip on his shoulder. Same as the chip he had when he didn’t re-sign him and he wanted to show us in the Toronto game how good he still was. But that seems to be more of a personal motivation tactic for him, and not a club-wide scenario, unlike 2000-2001 when Dave Ritchie lapped up the “us vs the world” mentality to motivate the team. Personally, I prefer the quiet professionalism of a team that does not need to create any manufactured disrespect to motivate themselves, and just goes out and gets the job done - respect all but fear none, win with class and quiet dignity. I know others embrace the “disrespected, let’s show them up and shut them up” way, to each their own.
  21. Saskatchewan minds just exploded with that dizzying display of math.
  22. You mean other than slavery, the KKK, lynchings, school segregation, suppressing women’s and minority rights, dropping the only 2 atomic bombs on civilian populations in history, separating immigrant children from their parents and locking them in cages, and favouring protecting loose gun laws over protecting children from getting massacred in their classrooms? That’s not an exhaustive list.
