Curious as to what turned you off? And how you would rank the Bond movies, and what you look for in them.
-
Thank you for validating what I have always believed…….that you have no idea what you are talking about. Just kidding. To each their own, but Skyfall is generally recognized as one of the, if not the best, Bond films ever made.

Did that bother you more than seeing Milt Stegall get hurt in 2002 in a meaningless game before the playoffs? Or imagine if Kevin Glenn’s broken arm happened in garbage time or in an unimportant tune-up? Which is worse?
-
Did not realize he had ALS. Living on borrowed time already, very sad.

And how would you react as a fan if we were “forced” to play an Oliviera, Collaros, Schoen, Lawler, Jefferson, etc. in a nothing game and we lost them to a season-ending injury heading into the playoffs?
-
Who says they are doing it for 6 games? And if they do, they earned that right. We benched Collaros effectively for two games in 2021, again strangely silent here. And if a Calgary or Montreal opponent complained that we made their games easier, would we say “rightfully so” or say “why should we put our players at risk in a nothing game so that Ottawa or Hamilton or Saskatchewan don’t feel ripped off? Pretty sure I know what the answer would be with the shoe on the other foot.

I don’t recall this kind of wailing about the integrity of the game last year when we sat Collaros in BC for that “marquee” match-up between the top 2 teams in the CFL at the time. Or how the Montreal fans were getting ripped off shelling out their hard earned money only to watch the Sean McGuire spectacle in 2021. And if the league put in a “load management” force them to play edict and we lost Collaros to a season-ending injury in a nothing game for us (like we did in 2002 with Stegall), I can just imagine the calls for Ambrosie’s head for such a stupid rule being in place, forcing us to put a player at risk needlessly. This has been done in every league every year when a team clinches early. Not just a “short-sighted CFL league office” situation.

That’s a lot more than Joan Jett and Desmond Child apparently get in royalties for a song that’s a direct rip off of theirs. -
Fortunately the idea of Russians as the villainous country is in favour again (unless you are MAGA). Or this guy, Henry Cavill

Whatever is asked of him in whatever position he is put in. And the team has won more when he was inserted into the line-up than the local favourites Parker and Haba. Which is really the most important thing for the coaching staff, whose job security is measured in wins and losses. Just sayin’. 😊 -
Let’s try another random question after the commercial one did not take off. What is the best gift you have ever given or received? Trying to go beyond the obvious of “my love” or “my partner/my kids” idea. This is a tangible random birthday/Xmas type present. Mine would have been a Christmas gift from my mom in 1997. She had gone through literally thousands of old pictures (some print, some old slides that she had transferred to print) and made a memory photo album for myself (and two more for each of my siblings). Must have spent months putting it all together for each of us, and covered a quarter century of our lives. Was about a two hundred page album and I spent the entire Xmas break just going through the memories the first time through. Meant so much then, and even more now that my parents are gone and many old friends have moved on to different places.

Next question, inspired by Speed’s Burger King comment: What are the best and the worst commercials you have ever seen? And worst is subjective, because a bad commercial still can draw eyeballs to a product, even if in an annoying way. Doesn’t matter if they love it or hate it, if people are still talking about a commercial and the product it is hawking, it has become a success. So my answers: for the best, I offer two - the one I consider the most memorable and best at delivering on it’s message, and then my favourite as the “best”. The memorable one won an award at the Cannes commercial festival, it was Australian and was two minutes long. Shot in black and white, it had no dialogue. It takes place in a dark, noisy factory basement. A lone figure stands in front of a conveyor belt. A blast furnace burns in the background while noisy machinery permeates the area. The conveyor belt moves at about two miles an hour. After about 15 seconds a tin can goes by on the belt and passes the worker. Another 15 seconds of noise and another can enters the frame and slowly goes by the worker. Another 15 seconds and another can shows up and goes by. A fourth can goes by, this one on its side. The worker waits until it reaches him and then grabs it and stands it up on end, and returns it to the belt. Another 15 seconds, another can goes by, and another. A seventh can shows up, again in its side. As the worker goes to grab it, the screen goes black…..and after 10 seconds of black silence, three words pop up on the screen: “Stay in school” And my favourite “best” is this one: And the worst, a local ad back in the 1980’s. Believe it or not, the company’s sales doubled after this as came out, even though the commercial was universally hated (and rumoured to have been used by North Korea to torture prisoners, lol)

5 actually.

FYI they are lip synching too. Sorry.
