  1. Yeah, the sheer number of different ways his lie was exposed is comical.
  2. So he felt the need to chaperone them on a plane flight because they are incapable of flying by themselves, but then he was prepared to leave them unsupervised in Mexico for a week? I hear that place doesn’t have the best people, drug dealers, rapists, and some who I am sure are nice people.
  3. And not knowing this last week caused you personally to suffer because?
  4. IR means you must be out for at least a week, but it can be retroactive to the original injury date, so yes this is exactly a cap move.
  5. Charlie rarely hit top end speed. His conditioning was less than stellar so he often got caught from behind. I shudder to think what kind of numbers he would have put up if he had Stegall’s discipline for fitness.
  6. I have always believed that if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. So......... Nope, can’t do it.
  7. That second comment answers the first question.
  8. Somewhat frustrating that he gets a tap on the hands and draws a slashing call, then high sticks Pionk in the face and zero call.
  9. Don’t care how they did it, will just take the W in regulation.
  10. 1. A story that offers zero substantiating quotes from actual league sources, citing one anonymous source who “is familiar with a guy” that basically says “I know one person who thinks not playing would be a better idea” and tries to tie the Edmonton coaching defection to a league-wide shutdown with no backing evidence AND in the face of every other team operating as normal. On a website we have all ripped all off-season for its history of writing unfounded nonsense. And that has not been picked up by any other media source to my knowledge So I give it it’s due credence, which is none at the present tIme. 2. There were actually a bunch of leagues and events that got cancelled last year. All Canadian USports, a bunch of NCAA leagues, European league soccer, the Olympics, CHL, various world championships, tennis majors, to name a few. And some of them still don’t have their plans announced on how they are starting up again, except those who have definitively pulled the plug. So if you want a contingency plan set in stone now, the only one they could announce and guarantee today would be “ we aren’t playing”. I’m prepared to be patient and let them do their planning without holding them to a promise that they may not be able to keep due to circumstances beyond their control. 3. I don’t find the demise of the CFL funny. What I find funny is your incessant need to blame Randy Ambrosie for all your angst because he has not personally reached out to you to lay out his everyday schedule. As I have said before, you b*tch when he doesn’t announce something, then you b*tch when he says “the league intends to lay this year” and some no name source says “maybe not the best idea, just my opinion”. Letting you personally know exactly where things are going to be in 4 months with no room for adjustment is likely pretty low on Ambrosie’s list of things to worry about right now, and personally having a list of “may never come to pass” contingency plans when the reality is without fans the CFL has no financial leg to stand on is pretty low on my “things I give a **** about” list too right now. I’m glad you don’t have bigger things to fret about than Randy not returning your calls. So you are mad when he doesn’t say anything, and you are mad when he does say something because it could be a potentially false promise based on some random anonymous guy with no apparent credibility or source info to back him up? Real win-win for Randy there in your world. Want to debate things Ambrosie has not done right, let’s discuss the International plan and it’s pros and cons, bring up the Atlantic expansion of the Toronto issue (but be fair and cite every other commish who has not got that down either, don’t pin it all on scarf boy). Silence doesn’t mean inaction, it means you don’t need to know today because you cannot contribute to the possible solution at this point, and some of the answers you seek cannot be given because so many factors are in play that are unforeseen right now. Your personal need to know is just a headache when bigger things are at play. Can you not just be satisfied that we have a schedule, we have feee agency on schedule, we have player signings, there are discussions and plans about the draft and a draft order is in place, and right now there is nothing official to suggest that the season is kaput or delayed? It’s not ghosting as much as it might be “Speedflex’s personal need to have a magic solution right now is not my most pressing need”. Sorry to burst your ego. If you really want a contingency plan for no fans in the stands, then be proactive yourself. The fans revenue needs to be replaced. So start a GoFundMe to save the CFL. League needs $150 million. Average attendance league-wide is over 1.5 million every year. So gets every fan who can’t go to games to pay to the fund. $100 per person for each games they would go to. If the death of this league is the life-altering tragedy some say it is based on their panic over the article and the subsequent comments, they should be happy to pony up. It is said if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem, so are you willing to be part of the solution by offering a contingency plan you so desperately want to see? Or do you want to complain for the sake of complaining?
  11. The only legs this rumour seems to have is on this board. I don’t know of any other media that has picked up on it. And I don’t see people demanding other commissioners to shoot down every opinion article that comes out, nor do I see those commissioners wasting time putting out non-existent fires. Simply responding to every article gives useless stories oxygen. Somehow Ambrosie is held to a different standard for some reason around here. If the league does not go ahead this year, this article will have had nothing to do with it. Don’t give it any credence.
  12. The NHL announced its 2021 season 3 weeks before puck drop. The NBA announced its season start a while 6 weeks before opening tip-off. MLS is ready to start its season (6 weeks before its first games) but says it is still working out how to include the Canadian teams with border restrictions, and no plan announced there yet. MLB supposedly starts in 2 weeks and yet they just discussed last week a shortened season possibility, but no plan announced. NFL and NHL both postponed games on the fly and and did not ever discuss in advance what they would do to make them up - this stuff all happened as it came up. NHL still hasn’t answered the question of how they will make up all the games or what they will do if more get postponed. AHL cancelled its year last year too, so did all USports and CHL, who turn a pretty good buck for a “non-pro” league. They are just hoping for the best. And yet you expect the CFL to lay out the answers for you now 4 months before the season starts? And you seriously want to compare the CFL to every other league as if their operations are apples to apples scenarios? Here is a harsh reality check for all you fans who feel entitled to know the details of the CFLs multiple planned scenarios this instant. The big 4 sports all lost tons of money playing to empty houses. But the have massive TV contracts to offset those losses. The CFL makes peanuts compared to those leagues, and still has sizeable operating budgets to be able to function. They need fans to turn any kind of profit. Period. And they cannot dictate if fans are allowed to gather en masse right now. So until we get a view of where the pandemic sits come May with vaccinations and 3rd waves, no one can say for sure how the plan will shake out. For now, I see schedules out, players being re-signed, free agency in full swing, just like business as usual in every non-pandemic year. So sit back, digest the evidence that the season for now is a go based on what IS happening, understand just how fluid the situation is because of something none of us have ever lived through before, ignore a random unsubstantiated opinion piece from a media troll looking to stir up **** (if it bleeds, it leads, so they say, so saying “schedule announcement and playing signings show league looking to be on track” doesn’t generate as many hits) and quit jumping all over Ambrosie because he hasn’t laid out the master plan for all of us entitled fans who need clarity NOW, like he personally snuck the virus out of Chins and it’s totally on him if I don’t get my patio boozing or Rum Hut non-social distancing guaranteed by day’s end.
  13. I’m sure you don’t have a hot clue what Wade feels about any about of this.
  14. You have the schedule in front of you right now. Nothing has stopped you from booking off work or getting your baby sitter arranged with 4 months to spare. I’m sure protocols have been discussed but are contingent on what the Provincial and Federal health authorities will decree is allowable come the spring. “Plans are useless, but planning is indispensable”- Dwight D Eisenhower And if the 2020 cancellation was expected as you say, how exactly was the rug pulled out from under your feet the first time? Simple rule in customer service where things that determine the outcome are ultimately out of your control - undersell and overproduce.
  15. Why exactly do fans need to know now?
  16. Holy cow are you guys ready to jump on Ambrosie at the first chance with no solid backing evidence. First, this is a 3DownNation post, and from everything I have read (and everything I have heard from the vast majority of posters here) their credibility is as solid as Qanon lately. Second, this “anonymous source” isn’t quoting anything official or citing an executive position and is basically stating a personal opinion of what they and they themselves think might be feasible. Their supposed cred comes from being “familiar” with the executive level of the league, whatever that means. That list could include any host of journalists who know who the league executives are but has no say in actual league operations. Third, that opinion seems based solely on the state of the Edmonton no-names, as regurgitated to an Edmonton reporter. Since they don’t have a full coaching staff, this source claims that, rather than being behind the 8-ball when all the other 8 franchises are operating as if the season is a go, in fact Edmonton is the “canary in the coal mine” who are not replacing staff because only they see the danger of no season and are cost cutting. As if their lack of staff has everything to do with this hidden agenda to not play, as opposed to Scott Milanovich bailing on his contract when the NFL came a-calling. It is trying to paint the “whatever name the fans vote for, it will be stupid”’s as ahead of the curve rather than behind it, and creates a false narrative of their disorganization as indicative of some inside knowledge over the league shutting down. Fourth, the opinion is not that the league will not proceed, but that in their mind it would be better to wait another year to guarantee full stadiums, a completely new CFLPA contract, and everybody vaccinated. Nothing in that sentiment is wrong. Having all that in place would allow much more stability than the band-aid plan that might come to pass (and which is how every other league is operating right now, before anyone jumps on this as a sign of CFL weakness - all leagues are drowning right now, the CFL just doesn’t have the deep pockets the big 4 do). What the report fails to touch on is what the harm in not playing would be. The article seems to suggest that the fans would be upset but other than that there would be no downside, when the reality is that shuttering another year would do economic harm beyond hurt fan feelings. So this article has a heavy bias towards “not playing is better” and spins it into “may not be feasible this year”, and the crowd here then spins it into “now the league is back-tracking” based on nothing other than a pre-determined dislike of Ambrosie, like it’s completely his fault a bat spread a virus in China. So the season may go, it may not, but this article offers zero evidence either way. And Ambrosie is not blameless for many things in the CFL, but let’s not manufacture outrage based on purely speculative opinion pieces with no credible intel.
  17. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. The Dems “negotiated” a deal where McCarthy’s assistant’s statement about the Trump call goes into the record without subpoenaing her. Their fear was that the Republicans would stonewall the confirmation process for Biden’s appointments so they short-circuited this process to supposedly leverage more bipartisanship in that area. The insanity is thinking that the GOP won’t go back on their word and be obstructionist when that comes up later. Like Charlie Brown believing Lucy REALLY REALLY won’t pull away the football this time. GOP may have no morals of conscience, but Dems have no guts or conviction.
  18. Republicans were all set to mail in their “not guilty” votes and sweep the impeachment under the rug. Now with witnesses being called the process will drag out a lot longer. We all know the outcome will be acquittal anyway, so the Dems have one goal- keep the spotlight on this and embarrass the GOP to the point that their acquittal vote is completely indefensible on a common sense level. Personally, I love it. After everything that the Senate did to screw over Obama’s agenda with stonewalling and the hypocrisy of the SCOTUS appointments, this move is a giant “F.U.” And it looks so good on them. Payback is a b*tch. As for Lindsay Graham flip-flipping his vote and “threatening “ 300 witnesses, 3 things: 1) Dems control the Senate and therefore have the numbers to approve or deny any witness, so good luck trying to control the process 2) Thinking that subpoenaing Dems will somehow turn the tables is wishful thinking, at best 3) Thinking you will scare off Dems by saying the process will be lengthened is not going to have the effect you think it will. I would love to see Trump go on Hannity and start spouting the election lie and delve into the Dominion machine fixing. Watching Sean suddenly pull up the legal disclaimer on screen to save his own and Fox’s ass and Trump suddenly flipping out on him would be glorious.
  19. Nothing to see here........ https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/11/politics/gop-senators-trump-impeachment-lawyers/index.html
  20. Shots a bit misleading in the end. Ottawa outshot Winnipeg 15-11 in the 3rd but the Jets carried the play and had all the great chances in the final 20.
  21. Stastny on the PP has gotten the puck movement going much better than last year. All 5 players touched the puck in a 3 second span on that 3rd goal. Beautiful. Jets survived the aggressive Ottawa forecheck in the first and found their space in the second. Sens on their heels after expending their energy in the first.
  22. There will be zero precedent set. If the roles are somehow reversed in the future every Republican senator who votes not guilty now will be the first to line up and say guilty, say that a former President CAN be impeached, that it is constitutional. There is no regard for precedent with them. They proved with their tone in the Clinton impeachment and then their backtracking on Trump 1.0. They proved it by blocking Garland on the basis of “election year” and then fast-tracking Comey-Barrett mid-election voting. The party without power will scream “precedent” and the party with power will say out loud “this is different” and what they mean is “it’s the same except for we have the power to get away with being hypocritical, and that’s the only difference that matters”.
