  1. There is a shuttle arranged by the club to run straight to the arena from the stadium. Game should be done by 6, hockey starts at 7.
  2. Guy has one win but two shutouts this year. On pace for his 3rd tonight.
  3. For -24 yards! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  4. This type of post never derails a thread. Solid words, kudos to you for your fight and for a great message. Post of the year!
  5. Great post. Was remembering the Banjo Bowl and the fight they started after the details of the spit/Lemon ejection came out. Harris was lucky not to get tossed for the helmet rip, clearly they baited Lemon and got away with it. Would not be surprised to see them try it again.
  6. Noeller, I was not aware of your battle. Thank you for sharing, and I hope you are managing it all OK. Keep strong, and if you ever need anything or need an ear to listen, do not hesitate to ask. I think some anxiety here is completely normal, and healthy. We have all been scarred by past failures and disappointments, and as much as Rider bashing is a sport here, they have talent that can rise up and should be respected, if not feared. But I like the calm mentality that has pervaded this Bomber team. 1-0 is the goal each week, so I feel better that the 2001 overconfidence will not be as much of an issue. Quiet confidence, that is the mantra. Both Sask and Calgary played a “who wants to lose it more?” game Sunday, I would be stunned if the Bombers did not turn 4 turnovers into more than the 10 points Calgary could muster. Also think the LaPo “protect the ball” mantra will play to form with Collaros and Buck. Feeling good, confident, but not cocky.
  7. I know. I could only afford to buy three at that price……🤣🤣🤣
  8. That price is child’s play compared to this: https://www.thebomberstore.com/limited-edition-commemorative-grey-cup-opener.html
  9. So, who’s picking the Riders? 🤣🤣🤣
  10. So, from a purely “best for the Bombers” scenario, who are our best to worst match-ups? And none of this “it doesn’t matter who we play” bravado, clearly some opponents are better than others. I am hoping for Sask to win today since I think Calgary can exploit our secondary with a quick pass game more, and they have a better running back. But I think Calgary has the edge if I am betting on the game. In the East I will take Hamilton to win over Montreal, and I think we match up better against them than the Als and their running game. With Arbuckle gone the Argos are not as intimidating either. From most favourable to least favourable opponent I would say: 1. Riders 2. Argos 3. Ticats 4. Als 5. Stamps But I could be convinced to swap Toronto and Hamilton’s positions.
  11. I’m no fan of anyone named Tkachuk, but biting during a fight when the linesmen are engaged should be a 10 game suspension minimum. But of course player safety only suspends the stars and ignores the goons and the after the whistles cheap stuff.
  12. And Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler leads the way. The haters will be upset. Gutsy win but they were playing pretty nervously the entire 3rd.
  13. I’m hardly the best at it, but I open google to search for what I want (in this case “football in the groin gif”) click on the images tab, right click and copy the image I want, then go to “insert image” and paste the URL link, and it usually works.
  14. Well, at least curling is on.
  15. Heard this every year since 2019. Correction, heard this every year since 2015 except for 2018.
  16. What makes you think Boudreau would get us where Maurice hasn’t? Boudreau’s whole history is good to great regular season followed by spectacular flameouts early in the playoffs. And it’s all fine and good to complain about Wheeler, but he not going to be traded because of that contract, if he is waived we are still on the hook for his salary I believe, and benching him just eats up salary without a player. If we are looking for a panic move, then Scheifele should go on the block. Players who are previously clean and not tough guys who get a big suspension go one of two ways - they smarten up and get motivated to be better (Like Nikita Kucherov did after his playoff suspension) or they shrivel and become worse because they get afraid of becoming a repeat offender or change their game to be the tough guy without skill (Bertuzzi is the most obvious example). I don’t see Scheifele rebounding from that suspension yet.
  17. And what will firing the coach actually accomplish?
  18. Everyone seems to “know” that they are a cancer in the locker room, but what is the basis of that. Because they get the most ice time? Funny how your top scorers get that. What bad “culture” have they brought. What inside intel do you have? But let’s play this out…..you can’t just cut these guys, you are still stuck with their contracts. Who is taking on Wheeler right now at his age and contract? And who do we get for Scheifele a trade? Who are our new leaders then?
  19. Of the 5 losses, the first in the shootout against the Oilers was a great road effort and we should have won, the Canucks game same. The home game against Pit I did not see but by all accounts we dominated for 2 periods then fell apart. Columbus was aggravating in that we had some good play but also looked lost at times. Today we deserved a lot more puck luck in the first, but once it was 3-0 we just quit. Big red flag there but is it just a one off with all the frustration of not scoring? I would say so unless we get blanked in Calgary. We need a “dirty” goal to get a good feeling. All coaches have a shelf life, and Maurice is at his expiry date based simply on tenure, the critics will not care about general success given we haven’t won the Cup, they will not be convinced otherwise. So can him and they will feel good for about 5 games, then will see that he was not the problem. As for replacements, our options would be in-house (Lowry?), Tortarella (certainly would be a spark, but are we going to destroy PLD again? A solid “no” from me), Babcock (great success in Detroit yet they were happy to be rid of him, and after Toronto no one has wanted to touch him - very telling), or Quenneville (would be an instant great hire from a smart winning coach perspective, could we survive the toxic fallout though?) And I don’t think that Heinola, Gustafson and Perfetti suddenly make this team loads better. But I would not mind seeing one of them up here to shake up the power play and penalty kill. Again, salary cap affects how feasible that is. So my answer? Short term try and ride out this slump. If we go another 2-3 weeks like this then I will re-assess. Chances are still there (we could have buried 3 in the first period today) but this team gets too cute at times.
  20. I have made a thread for everyone to play armchair GM and discuss how they would change the current team and fix this. For everyone who wants Maurice gone, I’d like to hear who replaces him and if it would make a difference given what has been happening of late. Honest question, is he being tuned out or fundamentally making bad coaching decisions or structures? Please show your work.
  21. OK, big losing streak and the wolves are at the door. So let’s hear from the Armchair GMs here - what do we do? And for every knee-jerk response I want you to play it out with all the salary cap or roster implications. No empty whining, offer some real solutions Fire Maurice? And replace him with whom? And will it make a difference? Bench players? And replace them with whom? Line-up shuffling? Who plays with whom? Big trade? Who for who? And is it a realistic get? Blow it all up? And where do we re-start? And how low do we go before we re-build? Here is a chance for everyone to not just vent their spleen it offer a constructive chance to rectify this team. Go.
  22. Hey Rod, tell me about the great coaching job he did against BC with that epic clock mismanagement that should have lost him the game. The most visible coaching he did this year was a massive f*ck up. “Useless as a toothbrush in Sask” - I may plagiarize that in the future, that is some solid work there.
  23. 1. To quote the Miller beer commercial: “I guess I’ve reached that age where I realize yelling at the TV screen isn’t going to change the ref’s call” 2. Whining about the injustice of a player snub seems like a Riderfans thing to do. 2a. Since we dump all over the other fan bases and their media when they complain about their ignored players, I do not wish to be labelled a hypocrite for doing the same or delusional for overvaluing our player’s worth in others’ eyes like we do for them. 3. Mike O’Shea preferred to not focus on the individual accolades and embraces the team. I am cool with that mentality. 4. There is only one award worth having, and I am sure Demski will put his full energy into defending ownership of that award Dec. 12. But that is just me. Not objecting to your anger, I am sure it is enough to sustain the both of us, and your approach is valuable in the make-up of a good fan base. You do you, I will take the quiet path, and we can both be content.
