  1. If 15 is not a record, it is awfully close. In the East 10 Ticats, 7 Argos and Als, 3 RedBlacks. Pleasantly surprised to see Demski get some love. He is a real catalyst for this offence but does not have eye-popping numbers, good to see him recognized. Also a good surprise that we got 4 from the o-line. Given Wilder Jrs numbers in Edmonton, whatever we think of his showboating, I thought one Elk might sneak in there. Defensively Darby is the biggest surprise, and the fact that both our first year DBs got selected over more recognizable “name” players, especially the “vaunted” green gang next door. And great to see a plugger like Mike Miller get his due when the “special teams” slot is almost always reserved for a returner.
  2. Because people here are a bunch of assholes, at least that’s what I heard from Lyin’ Guy.
  3. I’m betting that she was laughing, but not for the reason you think.
  4. Let’s not forget that Ottawa needs a new GM too.
  5. Let me settle this argument for everyone: He is not coming up here in time for the Grey Cup run anyway, so whether or not we can get him prepped or if he is better than the current options is irrelevant.
  6. Under 3,300 seats left according to Ticketmaster. Less than 850 in the lower bowl. (It will still likely look less full with all the usual concourse traffic and Rum Hut zombies standing around).
  7. Bronx cheer from the Calgary fans for getting on the board.
  8. Castillo redeeming himself for that missed convert last week. Funny that for all the kicking woes this year, the 3 games where field goals made the difference (twice against Calgary and the 26-16 win in Edmonton) each of our 3 guys came through to help us win.
  9. So (mindful that we have 9 minutes left) is this defensive performance better than the BC shutout?
  10. He’s not wrong about Brown though. Those slides do come pretty late.
  11. Wow, I thought that was going to be on Desjarlais for the shove.
  12. Would ‘t mind seeing a sweep to Demski or Bailey thrown in here.
  13. Watching McKnight field punts, one thing that differentiates Grant from him and the others is how he runs up to field the kicks rather than settling under them. Gives him a running start and he hits the holes faster rather than hunting for them.
  14. That means something completely different in the Minneapolis airport bathroom.
  15. The quote from O’Shea a month and a half ago was “we are 98% fully vaccinated, and 99% partially vaccinated”. That would imply two players not fully vaxxed, and one with no shot. Mike intimated that the partially vaxxed player was a star player whose absence would cause some significant roster shifting, and it took some convincing to get them their first shot. Apologies if that is inaccurate, that is what my memory of it is. Who knows what the status is now.
  16. Last regular season game ever for the legend. 6 hours does not seem like enough.
  17. You’re comparing them by looking at their elbows?
  18. The Prosecutor has no right of appeal in a criminal trial in the US. Different from Canada. Also, a mistrial in the States can be “with prejudice” meaning no do-over allowed. Again different from Canada.
  19. Apparently they were trying to get Verlander yesterday after re-signing Barrios and were in contention, so they seem to be willing to spend. Maybe they can re-up Ray.
  20. I posted the MBB offensive tackle discussion in my last post, here are the discussions on the guard and centre positions:
  21. Thought I would pull up the MBB All-time team discussion on best offensive tackle rather than re-create it: Notable that Bryant was voted in as #2 behind Walby back before the 2019 season by the fine folks at MBB. And here are his updated stats: Stanley Bryant – 101 games in 6 seasons (2015-21), 3 time divisional and CFL all-star (2017-19, 2021 nom pending), 5 time team nominee Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman (2015, 17-19, 21), 3 time Western Division (2017-19) and 2 time CFL Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman (2017, 18, 2021 nom pending), Grey Cup champion. A second Grey Cup and especially a 3rd MOL win would greatly strengthen his case as best ever.
  22. Absolutely. And it was more ridiculous what they did to Harris by voting him to the West all-star team (unanimously, which was weird given the Winnipeg boycott, even their self-righteousness was not as consistent as their hypocrisy), and then bouncing him again for the league-wide team. What was the most insultIng was the CFLPA snubbing Harris for Stanback but voting in fellow PED failed test recipient Louis-Philippe Bourassa from Ottawa as long snapper on the team. Leonard has no chance to beat Bighill so this nom won’t amount to much, it it will be curious to see how the voters handle the all-star and CFLPA all-star team nods. If he gets through, then one has to ask again what kind of hypocrisy is at play, or just how big of an axe to grind did they have against Harris?
