  1. Weren't we supposed to have a genius O-line coach able to make chicken salad out of chicken feathers? And yes, I mean a genius like Norman Einstein.
  2. All that remains is for the Esks to kick sand in the Alouettes' faces.
  3. Okay, since there are many who would have loved to see Messam in Blue and Gold (me too), but there is no consensus on that, can we agree that a power back who can break tackles and get the tough three-yard plunge would have been good to have on hand? If so, its pretty obvious that there are few NI's who have the abilities that Messam has, right? Well, it ought to be possible to find such a back in the US so that we have the option to use a scat-back or a power back.
  4. Mission accomplished.
  5. In spite of the 5 turnovers, the Bombers lost by only a small margin, so all is not lost. That said, it all came down to three big plays that cost us the game: the two fumbles and the last interception, all of which have been atypical this season. The frustrating thing is that the game was winnable, and the obvious problems which we have been fortunate to dodge thus far bit us on the collective butts. The coaches know better than we that the running game is pathetic and what needs to be done- this has to be the worst in the CFL and the worst performance of our ground game in years-all season apart from the first game. I don't know of the O-line was that bad last game (all season, really) or Sask's D-line was/is that good, but our tackles looked terrible last night. Willy was the better quarterback last night, our receivers were as good or better than Sask's but Messam wrecked us when it really counted and the smallish D-line and linebackers' vulnerability to power running between the tackles was exposed and will give a blueprint to the rest of the league on how to wear us down. Someone said Messam is a disruptive influence in the locker room, but if it comes down to him or Volny, what has Volny done for us besides fill out the IR roster? Kuale could have turned the game around all by himself but didn't. Had he taken the ball to the house, the game would have been over, or even if he hung on and fell down. I didn't see lack of effort last night, just some big mistakes which cost us and some team problems were exposed.
  6. Lets consider this a first strike and move on. Maybe some here still have a mad-on for him since the dirty hit on Pierce which may well have shortened Pierce's career.
  7. It ain't about losing. Its about getting humiliated repeatedly and having no hope of things getting better. We can accept a few losses and probably will have those as long as we see progress and effort.
  8. but no one is going to do anything with that? I'm setting you up, you just have to knock it down. Let me guess, you wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Is this a slur against tall guys from Warsaw?
  9. Shouldn't it be " I fart in your general direction"? Whilst using an outrageous french accent?
  10. No matter what it is going to be an epic experience, not just an epic game. There have been other games played in the new digs but this is going to be a sell-out, its is going to be the eternal rivals (Riders), great weather, and there are some major bragging rights on the line with Bombers being the best, most likeable team we've had in years. Moreover, the game is probably too close to call as both teams have had some very good outings so far. Go Blue!
  11. Are you referring to Roseanne Barr's unforgettable rendition of the American anthem?
  12. Coupled with the most anemic offensive performance I'd seen in a while on Hamilton's part. That game was freezing! Had to drink a lot to keep warm.... And there might have been poisonous snakes in the vicinity!
  13. can't go anywhere in the world these days without running into bandwagon Rider fans...and if I don't notice them they notice my Bomber hat and have to make an obnoxious comment...in February when I was in Maui I was told almost every day by some ding-dong that Willy sucked and they were glad he was gone...ha ha ha ...Try living out here. Most years, it's quite sickening. As you can imagine, this year has been better. Having said that, yesterday I took heat in the local WalMart for my new Jets hat, hoodie and Bombers tee.....Rider fans, Stamps fans....a horrible combo out here. what the **** to flames fans have to say about the Jets? ******* Flames over achieved in a big way and managed to draft 4th overall... And that was the highlight of the Flames' year. They're going to suck for at least a couple of years- their drafting has been pathetic and their prospects are all mediocre.
  14. Its a cycle that I've seen several times before. The running game is pronounced as outdated and irrelevant and the teams go pass-happy until a Mike Pringle or Charlie Roberts comes along and suddenly the running game is rediscovered/
  15. Love the Royal Blue uniforms, and hate the idea of camo uniforms- that would make the CFL just like US college games where fundamentalist religion, militarism and sports are all conflated. That's the American Way. Canada has had enough military glorification and adventures in support of wars that have no relevance to us.
  16. I vote for all of the above, plus mouth-breathers.
  17. The only team who can argue about the Bombers not deserving to be #1 might be the Esks because not did they beat us, but they laid a whuppin' on us. Its gonna take a bit of time to live that one down.
  18. Reminds me of the adage about too many chiefs.
  19. On the coach's show on OB tonight, O'Shea was asked about the herd of quarterbacks on hand. He was pretty circumspect but did volunteer that they were impressed by Portis.
  20. The guy came here in peace. Yes, he did, and my post was in humour- I believe it was accepted as such.
  21. Maybe a trade? Hamilton? Toronto? Montreal?
  22. Smith being out of the game fills me with.........happiness, particularly because the turkey did it to himself. I believe it was Einstein who said that the two most common elements in the universe were hydrogen and stupidity.
  23. I'll take an unknown like Brohm over guys like Brink... Yup. Brink has been tried and found wanting. As soon as Montreal picked him up, they were outed as as desperate.
  24. Ummmm. do the name Mason Mills ring any bells?
