  1. We are given memory that we might have roses in winter.
  2. Would that make it "tragically hip"?
  3. That's the beauty of the salary cap- it puts all the teams on an equal footing (barring some creative player funding) and there is no reason the Bombers can't be competitive, particularly if they dump some deadwood (I'm looking at you, Picard).
  4. Harris could sign here for $10,000 less and still live better. Vancouver is a great cosmopolitan city with an incredibly diverse assortment of stores and restaurants downtown, but you gotta have the bucks. Harris's career isn't going to last forever and I would bet his post-CFL life would be a lot better here.
  5. Maas definitely has the fire on the sidelines and I have been impressed by his ability to build the offense around Burris.
  6. Well, we haven't lost a game in a week or so...
  7. You may wish to pause a moment to commiserate with Stephen Harper who is currently existing in his personal hell: living as an ordinary person in a city with a gay Muslim mayor, in an NDP province with a Liberal Federal government.
  8. It should really be named the "Fantasy Free Agent" list.
  9. Would Doug Berry and LaPolice want to return to the scene of the crime? Berry has the skill but LaPolice's play-it-safe-so-we-don't-get-embarrassed offense never impressed me. Jason Maas is a promising comer but still a little shy on experience, and Danny Barrett also has the skill but when he was head coach in Regina he had some liabilities. He played favourites and was condescending to media and fans. I wouldn't bet against Chapdelaine or Maas in the final choice.
  10. Compared to Westerman he does not deserve it. Sinopoli is a run of the mill receiver. He is one of 4 1000 yard receivers and the fourth best receiver on his own team. Westerman is an elite DE. Sinopoli winning would be an embarrassment to be quite honest. Sinopoli is a very good receiver- probably the best NI receiver in the league this year and would be a starter on any team, but good Canadian receivers are easier to come by than dominant D-linemen who also happen to be Canadian, so Westerman ought to get the nod. But the league has a vested interest in hyping the RedBlacks, so Sinopoli winning is not a stretch.
  11. Ah. There's the connection- we could have had him instead of the noted Mr. Poblah.
  12. If #97 Hamilton is Ted Laurent, we did have him at one time. No we didn't... If memory serves, we drafted him but traded him to Edmonton.
  13. If #97 Hamilton is Ted Laurent, we did have him at one time.
  14. Toronto is not blowing Hammy out by any means but seems to be wearing them down.
  15. And Trump has admitted to defrauding his investors, has gone broke several times and has had dealings with shady people with southern European names. Not a good role model.
  16. Sounds an awful lot like what Kelly, LaPolice, Daley, Burke etc etc had to say. I'm sure he means it in all sincerity, but...
  17. Realistically, would we have been worse off if Chevon Walker had never signed? Would we have been better off to field another tight end or even a mediocre import receiver and go with a 5-receiver set?
  18. I didn't see anyone in this forum wishing that Walters, O'Shea, Bellefeuille or whoever the heck would screw up so badly as to cause the team to miss the playoffs and put their own jobs at risk. Etcheverry appeared to be a twit, however and incapable of adapting. The undeniable fact is that they have nor gotten the job done and have nothing but cliches and platitudes to offer as hope for next season. Until very recently I have been a Walters supporter (whatever that's worth) but it is sounding more and more like he has no idea what to do to fix this.
  19. Wait....what?!?!?!?
  20. LaPolice was good on the X's and O's but was risk-averse. Not a good trait for a head coach in pro football.
  21. That is only an Assumption. This is a fan forum, and while some may have more knowledge then others. No one here really knows what goes on during meetings etc etc. If O'Shea was aware of these problems and still sat on his hands that long, does that make his status better or worse?
  22. Etcheverry's rep was out there and was hired anyways. Same for Bellefeuille. The same ineffectiveness that Bellefeuille's offenses have shown in his previous incarnations has been evident for two years before he was finally canned. The special teams were a mess for a season and a half before at coach was fired. Is there a pattern here? Has any coach in the CFL survived into a third season with such a record in choosing poor assistants plus accumulating an equally poor win/loss record and so many blowout losses?
  23. For those who believe that O'Shea's background allowed him to recognize and build a great defence, if this were the case, why could he not realize what many here saw in Etcheverry's record and defence as it was fielded with the Bombers? We didn't have to wait past a few games before the defence was getting trampled, and the offence has been the worst or second worst in the league for two years- predictable and toothless. If the members in this forum could see the problems in the offense, defence and special teams for so long, and even predicted them, how could an allegedly astute head coach not?
  24. Walters nailed exactly what went wrong again this season: apparently the team made too many changes and this will not be repeated in 2016. I feel much better now, especially since the Librium kicked in.
  25. Its become very obvious that this forum has polarized into pro and con O'Shea factions, with little common ground. No amount of logic or argument will sway the pro-MOS people and it sure as spit looks like nothing he can do will redeem himself until at least halfway through the 2016 season if he has a winning record by a substantial margin. Either way, every indication is that O'Shea is going to be head coach for at least the start of next year, so flapping our gums will change nothing.
