The Trump administration projects that 3,000 people will die daily from COVID-19 by next month, nearly doubling the current death toll, according to an internal document first reported by The New York Times. The agency also projects that the number of new cases will increase from 25,000 per day to 200,000 per day. The really frightening things about all this is how completely subverted all the usual checks and balances of government have been, how few have responded to their consciences and how absent the media have been in their duties to observe and report.
