Cox CNN has accused the Trump re-election campaign of misusing CNN news coverage in a way that’s “false, misleading, and deceptive.” The network issued a cease-and-desist letter in response to a new Trump ad, titled “American Comeback,” which edits a segment from CNN’s The Situation Room to suggest that Wolf Blitzer and a guest, Sanjay Gupta, were crediting the president’s travel ban policy issued in January for saving millions of American lives, “when in fact Mr. Blitzer and Dr. Gupta were discussing recently implemented social-distancing guidelines and stay-at-home orders issued by state and local governments.” The Trump campaign has said “the ad is accurate,” said CNN was “the only outlet” to reject the ad and called the news network “effectively a Joe Biden super PAC.”

But she made an asp of herself and is in DeNile about it.

Trump's alma mater, the Wharton School, has released a new model which projects that reopening the states now will result in 233,000 additional deaths from the virus by the end of June. Since many states will not completely reopen and others will stay locked down for some time, the actual number probably won't be that bad. But make no mistake — it's going to go up, possibly way up, as states open up willy-nilly and many individuals decide they aren't going to bother with social distancing guidelines anymore. It's already happening. Trump's business genius is at it again.

In all seriousness, is there anyone in the Trump administration who actually is competent? On a related, but sad note, I had my ears lowered this morning at a new barber who still had Trump memorabilia all over his shop. Worse yet, he was playing C&W music and I could feel my IQ falling with every song.

But he is a "Pinto".

To repeat: there are no depths to which Trump and his enablers are willing to sink and will do so in plain sight.

Agreed- this will be the dirtiest (at least from the GOP) US campaign in US history. A lot of the crap will probably not come out until after the election and I just hope that the perpetrators, whoever they may be, will be in jail forever.

If you think this will placate those who are unwilling to address their rigid ideation, you are wrong.

In Canada, at least, the politicians are at the mercy of the electorate. The Liberals are moving ahead with their stated agenda, which is supported in this case, by a large majority of Canadians and long overdue. Harper dismantled the gun registry which was utilized some 500 times per day by Canadian police, and that was against popular opinion. but Harper did it anyways. The reality is that right-wing governments are far more likely to institute repressive measures, as shown in the US and the Philippines, as well as many other cases. Anyone remember the High River Flood in Alberta a few years ago? After the town was evacuated, the RCMP went door to door, kicking in doors ostensibly to make sure that any firearms left behind were not stolen. Apparently only a few were found and this act was defended by the then Solicitor-General and an explanation was promised "soon". It still has not come. BTW- many of the homes were left unlocked and the doors still got smashed in. Getting rid of people-killing firearms by order in council is not ideal but quite legal and within precedent.

Frankly, I am disappointed that no one has commented on my post regarding Calgary's first draft pick.
