  1. Interesting to hear that the players (a lot of the young newer ones to the CFL) said that after hearing about the LDC and the atmosphere/crowd noise at Mosaic, and to be prepared for it actually said that IGF is much louder crowd....easily
  2. ha!...didn't know that...I still think tho we will give their line a bit of greif and cause KG to put on his pout face none the less. I shocked the experts on these boards weren't all over signing him lol
  3. One of the more lamer articles penned by him lately....which is a tough thing to do as he spits em out weekly it seems, or blabbers like a fool on radio too often then not
  4. Optimistic on this one. B.C has issues too and I think we can take advantage of it. The fronts and motion on defense is going to have Cave spinning like a top, chasing guys and having a ripple effect. I think we see us shut B.C down pretty well. And the offence can't get any worse, I sure they are going to improve somewhat and this team has character this year and a different mindset...bodes well in football and glad we lost, and lost way we did last week. We needed it and were never going undefeated, or even sustaining only 5-8 lossses so last week was the best time to be brought down a notch or two and have severe weaknesses exposed earlier rather than later.
  5. on the low hit Grigsby did his job..stepped up and sealed inside guy. I re-watched the game and and he maybe whiffed completely on one block. Another he was pretty much bull rushed into q.b for the sack/hit..I think with getting his game legs back this will get better. Mainly from what I see...and is a trait of MB's offence for most part is the r.b is to engage...slow up the rusher then release and become a option to check down or drop ball off to if the Q.B deems there is nothing to get ball to after his reads...or he is under pressure. It seems that he could engage just a we bit longer to help with pressure a bit more...only fault i see in his game so far
  6. he has worked with countless nfl qb's and draftees preparing to get into the nfl He is a guru no questions about it
  7. well i am devising a system so i know when to have a child on weekend so not to miss work
  8. well if he is a good back he will learn from it...and continue to get better I agree, I think he thought it was an attempted shovel...but still no excuse to not try and jump on it until whistle blows...you play through to the whistle. Learning curve and sure it won't happen again...well better not
  9. no no no...thats not an adjustment...thats a case of Ottawa db's and linebackers "just" missing interceptions and tackles for losses... and our defence didn't adjust....Ottawa dropped many many passes, and our ability to give up no points and minimal yards was cause Burris was just missing all our blown assignments....man we were lucky for 3 quarters
  10. source: Years playing in NCAA/CFL..CIS Years coaching in CIS/American/Canadian Highschools/NCAA Training camps for draft eligible players Football is a game of coulda..shoulda's...missed assignments...blown coverage's...coaching blunders...mental errors...and yes being lucky I sure there will be games we should have won..but didn't....and should have lost but didn't...as will any team in any league....thats football
  11. how is an overthrow an dropped ball.....the instant i am talking about later in game was clearly over thrown...he missed him...
  12. Play you mentioned Burris read the play...seen the safety blitz and tried to take advantage of it....that's football. If i re-watched the game film...yes game film and not t.v footage I am sure I can find many instances where if "this would have happened" or "that would have happened" then it could have been a blow out one way..or the other...that logic of yours makes no sense. Burris tried to take advantage of a scheme...missed....happens all the time. I guess we didnt deserve to win cause if Washington didn't return his kick we would have lost?...we took advantage of over pursuit of coverage due to fear of outside speed...returner read it...two blockers adjusted to what he did...took it to house...so we in this instance took advantage of a scheme and in-situ game moment...exploited it...and scored
  13. Mr Beach....pretty sure there is nothing you can teach me in the game of football....nope The panel whistles whatever tune the game being played is showing them at that time. Other than Dunigan and a lesser extent Milt that panel most times is way off mark. Everyone agrees we need oline depth....thats a given, but the missing guys...zero time and the short term chaos that occured resulted in Willy looking unsettled. Most people in the know main thing they say about Willy is his pocket presense and demeanor, his sound mechanics and technique is what is going to make him a sure fire top teir Q.B in this league. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and ours differ
  14. epic failure all game???....like you are being serious? man I bet you only person on planet who see's it that way and if the game stats from mid second quarter on, plus fact they scored 7 points from the 6 minute mark of the first quarter to the end of the game....which wasn't even a touchdown then I don't know what more of an adjustment could have been made on an offence that nobody had seen before. If anything it was an epic success....dude like wake up
  15. pretty much don't agree with much of this....JFG I agree with...nice surprise...Grigsby has potential...blocking isn't that as people claim but not ready to anoint him the man for next 3-5 years...yet If anything Willy is...it's very technically sound and fundamentally I will go as far to say prob tops in the league..Missing o-lineman, hand issue, were reason for the erratic performance. He will have ups and downs but from a technical standpoint he the best we seen here in years...like I mean yeeeeaaarrrss!! Once we seen what they were doing offensively by the mid point of second quarter we had it figured and second half solved...so not sure what you were watching. The big key this year to our success and it has already shown is that we have coaching...ongoing during the games, prior to the games, and we have a plan and are prepared. Jake Thomas sure made a few plays but if you isolate on him he is far from full-time starting material. He there out of necessity, wouldn't start on any other team and truth be told on many wouldn't even be on game roster...sure he a nice guy but not a starter by any stretch.
  16. Not sure the hate on for Grigsby and his all around play. He has missed the odd block, but not like many have made it seem, and some of the ones he has "missed" have been instances where he has to decide where his protection should go from a couple options. It more a result of blitz packages and schemes as it is missed assignments. Also he is learning the CFL style of game and getting used to where things come from, angles, "the edge" and this is also translating to his running as he learns the Canadian field and it's nuances, and within probably the 4-5 game range he will be reacting and instinctively doing things as opposed to having to think right now. Factor in rust and not playing for a couple years and it's pretty impressive what he has done to date, especially coming from his first TC and not getting all the significant reps. It seems the only detractors are the forum fans, but writers, coaches, analysts and former/current players sing a different tune.
  17. and exactly about the bonus, if he doesn't get one..less is invested in him and he isn't as high on their list of making it.
  18. Yeah he may get signed, but a signing bonus may be the tell tale time if he even makes it to camp. He could be signed now, and released in May, or sometime before camp even starts, or shortly after mini camp. Not a real loss in my opinion, sure he is a good player, and Canadian, but I never liked a Canadian in that spot, especially if you don't have solid non-import depth or ability to start 8 or 9 so if he goes down, you have adequate replacement. That position isn't a game changer and responsible for 30-4 wins all on its own during a year anyway. YOu can probably get 2 imports to fill his spot for same price it would cost us to sign him anyway, actually probably a lot less, and truth be told could probably do a better job if or new scouting system and recruiting is worth what we hope it is. I would have no problem with Mcune from T.O there, and can prob get him for half the price if not less, and i bet he is more of a presence. Use this money to upgrade offers to o-line, maybe a non import d-lineman, get it so we can have 8 solid canadians who can start and start well...fill in the gaps. I can't see if things don't pan out him not signing back here at a prorated contract, so cross that bridge when it comes...all is not lost and in a way this could allow us to be a deeper more solid team anyway
  19. no loss and hardly a win for the Ti-cats, Never was a fan of Zack, and I think in long run a situation of Burris for 1 to 2 and grooming Hall and another at moment unknown...could be Willy, could be a an unknown name to most, but one in works for while now who is brought in to develop. we are at a different level now with recruiting/scouting/ and networking so really no big deal, you will see Hamilton basically having a middle of pack Q.B who is going to be going through growing pains and a learning curve still....bank on it With Burris, you know what he is giving you, and you can actually format an offence based around things he is proven to do well, while the back-ups learn, and get reps to possibly in different packages and situ's to keep Hank fresh. In the long run I see this as the better option for us, and also, truth be told gives us a better chance of winning now..as opposed to Zack C
