  1. point i making is people pay good money to watch the best players perform....regardless of BC....and I didnt see the government coming to the CFL aide in pandemic...to "benefit" cnadians and jobs lost, revenues negated....etc..etc...but were quick to throw around tax payer money to other countries for things that had zero effect on Canada...so that argument is kind of pointless too then...I realize there are many here who are staunch gotta be canadian be damned players..ratio..whatever....and thats fine....
  2. i didnt mean its apples' to apples....but the fact less and less canadians make up majority of player base doesnt effect grass roots hockey...and grass roots football suffered/suffers because nobody took the horns to create it like hockey in Canada...its not affected by the CFL...Ratio doesnt make it unique...just a mechanism to allow Canadians a better chance to play...sure its unique as it's the only pro sports league in the world that excludes players....,but it doesnt necessarily make the game better....they talk about inclusion...yadda yadda yadda...well...be 100 percent inclusive
  3. last I looked the NFL game is completely different than the CFL game...The part that makes the CFL unique is the rules...the field, and the fact it's all Canadian teams.....is the NFL now unique because they employ the best of the best Canadian players....I think not
  4. Grass roots hockey does just fine and there is no stipulating you need X amount of Canadians....If the Jets had no Canadians...would fans stop watching...doubt it....If CFL went to an all Canadian player base...they would lose more fans than they would if they went to an all American Player base...the game would become not worth the price you have to pay to go see it, and the gap between elite layer and slug would be laughable every where i read they added an extra Canadian but its the 3/5 yr american on top of the usual 7 Canadians...correct me if I am wrong but thats what Ive been seeing
  5. Willie was basically a victim of off field issues....not skill/size/etc...and spin what u want...but i know for a FACT many guys who would have been generational stars up here didnt come soley because the ratio, and didnt want to risk injury in a situation where they most likely had to beat out an established vet...in his prime, or be cut when a Canadian with no real reason to be on a pro field took the position...u can disagree and argue till the cows come home, but this has been the case for decades...even today, there are a lot of Canadians with no business being on a pro football roster, but soley are as they protected by BC...Does this make the CFL great?...in my opinion no....great for Canadian players I guess...but not great for over all game...and BTW...I am a Canadian player....
  6. if I read it correct...didnt technically the amount of canadians to be starters went up from 7..to 8...the 8th being a naturalized American?...but 3 others can replace true Canadians if a team chooses....key word here...up to 49% of snaps....so.....earn yer Canadian birthright paycheque and make the decision to "replace" you for some snaps a moot point...also, if you are a true team player you will accommodate rotation and situational snaps to allow your team to be more successful just as players do now... do u hear guys like Jeffcoat and Jefferson, and similar players on other teams crying about snap count???...Those players who voted it down...still have 7 starting jobs...just like before....you dont lose money having snap count reduced, and you still need "true" canadian back-ups to cover injury...etc...so if this CBA allows for better roster flexibility and in the end...improved quality of game and entertainment value....then suck it up butter cup...If I was the CFL I'd say...okay...we will switch that, but you give up a) revenue share or b) cap increases.....gotta give to get....people making it seem like Canadian jobs are going away...which isnt the case....snap counts may be reduced....but deal with it...perform and you wont need to worry about it
  7. and the fact that employee kept coming for more....even after being bitchslapped....u reep what u sow...Langley in my opinion isnt the bad guy here, and hope that doesnt ruin his chance to try out
  8. Not too worried about dynamics on this squad to be honest
  9. Soley at the feet of the Canadians...u still have your gauranteed 7 starting spots...you don't want your reps cut down...prove your worth and stop crying. Canadians have been beneficiary of all previous agreements and paid in many instances well beyond what they should...and many a u.s player shown the road due to being ousted by a far inferior Canadian ..sure it's the CFL but quality shouldn't be compromised by nationality...I can tell you first hand many a great player had opted to not even come here as he has had guys in his ear telling him to not waste his time cause he gonna be cut for a Canadian player who in some cases woukd be hard pressed to start on a top notch JUCO team..this is facts You still will require Canadian backups above and beyond the actual starting 7...not just naturalized Americans...suck it up..prove your worth..if it's mainly the Canadians balking at the 49% thing..and having American league stars who stick in league and with same team being somewhat rewarded for it...guys who put butts in seats and have their merchsndise fly off shelves..they can eat a bag...
  10. Stan the man with a plan
  11. My brother works as a rspirstory therapist...as well as used to be a Paramedic in Edmonton....first hand communication from him is Edm is a shithole...riddled way worse with crime...thugs...and homeless, and general filth...he says way worse than Winnipeg...worst apparently in Canada for what the emergency/healthcare system has to deal with...Saskatoon running up there as well with the leaders...and yes...said commonwealth is in the shitsville
  12. well...I lived in Winnipeg....T.O...San Fran....and Columbia MO.....and a coupe othe random points in between...could have continued there, or took up opportunity there, and well...where am I since 2003?....there a reason.....and every city has it's dumpy area, or negative attributes....But other than sheer size...I've found Winnipeg to have just as much or more than most in terms of things going on...and culture and what accompanies it....Lawler....I appreciate what he did here, but something was a bit off with him in some ways...and the fact he seems to take his subtle shots about certain things, and has really given no appreciation toward team/city or acknowledged "team" more than "him" is telling...truth be told...he won't be missed and we prob be a better over all group without him Adams is the one that will be missed and is leaving a void...and I hated to see him leave, but we gonna be just fine
  13. good report...is there camp tomorrow?...may have to whip by myself...need a live football fix
  14. Yup clements wasn't flashy...didn't have one big exceptional skill...or crazy skillet for that matter...but was smart..couls extend plays and improvise on the fly...could lead and was a winner...sounds a lot like someone else
  15. Unknowns at qb...prob a porous line..good on u Kenny getting bank but 10 bucks says Elingson outproduces and goes deeeeep into playoffs...banking a lil extra ching ching
  16. What's crazy is how this teams management and the way they manage roster..and prep for future is top notch...we've developed..replace and retooled through as goosen and chungh loss....Desjarlais..and Eli and just reload and don't miss a beat...crazy...other teams if they aren't envious are just oblivious then on how to manage a roster
  17. if he does surpass Gray this yr...fairly big if...Gray as the 6th is crazy good depth...we set along o-line for sure now...
  18. Kyrie ran track...dude has wheeels...and quick explosive acceleration...he will be fine
  19. Stick.....a.k.a Juron Bolden
  20. yup...started strong...faded even stronger....the fact they resigned him is telling...must be desperate..that defense was right gutted...and the loss of most were average guys save for Woodard
  21. I don't watch and follows the CFL because it has Canadians in it...and that comes from playing ball as a Canadian on both sides of the border...I watch as I like the game and want to be entertained...could care less where players are from, but just want the team I root for be able to field the best players they can...do I want to see all Canadians eliminated...would it make the overall talent better if they did....100 percent, that being said, you would still have Canadians playing as the Talent is there, and they know the game. I like the idea tho of rewarding team and player who has been with same team 4 consecutive yrs to be a naturalized Canadian, but cap it to a set amount allowed per team...you still have to have X amount of true Canadians, and X amount starting...also think that the DI should just be regular roster players, and drop the DI tag and restrictions to them...see no point in it as they are paid same as they would as a rostered regular, and would allow teams to benefit more using them more liberally and improve over all play. I get it...a lot of people are stuck on the Canadian stigma and say they would stop watching if they reduced or more specifically eliminated the ratio, o well...see ya later then, but many if not most of those are the old relic fan, being able to roster more "name" guys who some of the younger crowd may actually know who follow college ball, may attract a new breed and younger fan base...which is what this league needs....catering and pandering to just the wants and moansd and groans of the over 45..50 crowd won't grow anything....just saying
  22. If he wants to be here..and we can sign him for sure u make that happen. Mourtada kicked well...yeah he missed but they were on line...straight...and solid. His alignment was out of wack...and yeah it was a hashmamrk thing...he was overcompensating for the wider angle...I look forward to see what this camp shows..and his kick offs were great...95 percent of them he dropped right inside the goal/ten yard line close to sideline....perfect placements....I know he punts too..just not sure how accomplished
  23. If he comes back...he automatically goes back to his spot, and Grey is the 6th....case closed
  24. It's also about delegating and letting team leaders control the room, and self police as best they can, and that also was something Osh and his staff/management have built here....step in when needed, and give and receive respect equally
