I was being optimistic sadly A good drubbing friday on a no change week...be it players...even just one for god's sake...or same ol same flawed scheme and in game collapse...then the excuses afterward...I can seriously see a team that just quits moving forward the rest of yr...and some likely eying an escape (the ones on final yr) with some internal turmoil outside the eyes of media and fans....if that hasn't happened already

a sad reality just peeking around the corner...If we lose this week...which is a 99.5% certainty if we change nothing...and that's a 99.5 certainty as well, and CGY beats the Elks...we in the basement at the 11 game mark of the season Then we have MTL..SSK..SSK...BYE...TO..MTL...CGY...EDM I have a real hard time seeing us crawl outta the gutter looking at that next 7 game stretch as we likely are 6 and 11 after that...Maybeeeee 7 and 10 but that's being ultra optimistic...especially if with that bye wedged in there we just stand pat with the excuses and justification of the what's and why's...which also is probably a 90 percent certainty We also close out vs BC who could be playing for a position in standings too so wont be sitting anyone It could quite possibly be a tasty lil 7 and 11 season....and a continuation of the current 5 yr slide...5 yrs!!! and significantly worse than previous...... Definitely not going to get us 3rd, and high chance of no cross over as a 4th place finish in West is a pipe dream with 7 wins, and even then...that may not even cut it for the crossover

new guys brought in have no bonus....and some the vets who have one...well guess that needs to be re thunk in doling out big ones for old vets......and yeah there is a vet cut deadline....hence things that were apparent by game 5..6 latest should have been already dealt with No team as well goes into the season with zero available equity left...for things just like this...or injury...etc...you can also 6 game em...there many ways to skin a cat...a lot of our garbage as well I am sure dont come with huge bonuses...A BO...ZC...Demski...WJ...Vet Olineman sure...but we arent wanting to shed any of those with a outright cut. We can easily roster guys in house who all have been accounted for already for someone else...You cant assume they are no better just because osh isnt playing them Removing and replacing a Cobb...Moxy...Wilson/jones...Kelly...Hazen...Elsbury...Daniels...with anyone already here wont upset any SMS I glad youschooled me in the fact there is a SMS and players cost money...I just figured you could do whatever u want...SMH I know there is a cap, and it all counts. wedont always see eye to eye but you are totally on the money here A new HC tho may help with the co-ord issues by taking away some of their playcalling...Or get in their face....Lots of ways tossing a HC can almost immediately fix some things... A new guy may also have a sense of urgency and some fire in him.... I agree....but our HC doesn't like the rule and refuse to use it. That there alone...personal beliefs/bias before the team is reason enough to send him packing. Especially when it's a rule that would immensely help us

I bet Smith becomes a all-star and a top Canadian defender...he was mired there. Who knows who else could be if you dont try them? Thats the issue...cant evaluate a guy on the PR or running up and down on ST 5 times a game And practice wont do it either...you will see work ethic and thats about it If a guy is still lost in the playbook, makes same errors over and over or just for lack of a better word sucks in technical aspects of his game...why we keeping them?,,,If the HC cuts them pretty sure the GM would restock the PR.. WHAT??...The HC decides who stays and who goes...not the G.M...Who built the PR...The roster...and picks the game day product?....Not the G.M If a HC says to his G.M based on my evaluation this guy...that guy....those 2 over there are all keepers so retain them please....I dont like that FA...or that one...Dont fit my vision and i dont like the skill set...my group of old decaying guys are better...should he not trust in him?....Or should he meddle and doubt his assesment....foster doubt in other coaches and players...demand ho plays...And become the Ott Rouhriders of the Glieberman era? we dont know that tho...So to upset the apple cart totally could be catastrophic...Maybe osh is just a arrogant prick behind the facade? Wheatfall has 26 less yards than our leader Demski..more than white or pokey...more than neild/Corcoran/Daniels combined..and his 16.6 ypc beats any of our guys..I see how he not good enough to be on this roster..plus hes been playing with what..4 diff qbs and most yr with no real legit starter...yup...we would suck more with him

Our problem was Oshs insistence and influence to ride guys to dust..and not know when to let go We missed out on a lot of FA who could prob still been here cause we hung onto guys too long It aged and degraded us substantially with a whole core of guys instead of a guy here and there if done right. Plus the fact he seems to have no inclination to play young guys or new guys to gain valuable experience..or essentially win a job and then when we have injuries we screwed cause we either dont trust a guy so play a sub 100 percent player..or are forced to play someone who is hampered from no play time..or just dont know what we have cause he would rather roster his favs who are garbage. We seeing that with dbs and receivers this yr...DL for multiple yrs...and LB's too..took 3 yrs for him to realize Griffin was our best option...and if not for his injury Smith prob still be used sparingly

Give it to Strev to finish out the yr...guys would follow him and go thru anything for him...and im not even kidding Plus he is a brilliant mind...he would get the most outta his guys...ive seen him coach first hand. He pulls it off ...reup him

Osh in sny gm capacity and final say in player signing/releasing would be kiss of death and we would be even worse than we are now with badically no hope The cap thing isnt as big an issue as many think..especially if you just can coach...mid season just interm someone...end of yr find the replacement...we can get out of his salary 2 ways...the previously mentioned escape allowed once...or he signs elsewhere which I sure would happen..and even if not for a yr..so be it..if there's the will there's a way He's ran his course here..it happens to every successful.. formerly successful coach

and he continually thinks that starting 9...even 10 is making us our best version....make that make sense With what we have seen with Kelly ...in what 3...4 games now at safety? The fact he hasn't back end rostered Stuart who killed it on teams before he got pulled...not sure why....and is a real promising DB and gave him reps there in a game I bet it would become pretty apparent...much like Smith that he should be on the field. But instead he rosters 2 linebackers...one of whom is wasting a DA spot who play some teams...and thats it...solid rostering

Coach first...G.M and the whole gang next if a coaching change is not the answer....No G.M is gonna take a job where he has a HC and his staff forced upon him More often than not a G.M will get a second guy opportunity...especially with the success he had the first time. A G.m/HC removal I dont think a lot of you know the upheave that causes and could be yrs of wandering the wilderness...Things here are set pretty much in a way all teams are trying to mimic. So unless the Prez and G.M are utter schmucks...which they are not there is no real fear of us hiring a dense fool who will brak things down even more...won't happen Yup...was mentioned last off-season that Osh was given too much say and that some of that was being taken back...Walter's even said they had several episodes of Osh being very combative of things too...but in the end they came to compromise...so that there too is a bit concerning. And shouldn't be happening. Walter's is the Boss, not the other way around...and he needs to start doing Boss things...and if he has a head coach who is fighting it...in what profession does an employee who bucks the system and goes against upper management retains his job??? He did it before so we know it's in him. The fact that Osh refuses to use a beneficial rule that would help his team because he doesnt like it...is more than enough to can his butt...Himself before team...how many players last on a team with that mindset?...none We dont need to hire from within..we have seen how that has panned out and looking at who we have the only one who would I think be a possible guy is Costello...he's actually earned it, and would be a pretty big loss if a new G.M came in and cleaned house...Pretty sure tho a new head coach tho would retain him if he wanted to stay...and why wouldn't he? I mentioned this last yr, and still believe in it but we should be offering the HC job here to Mickey Donovan...He has had a lot of experience in his 20 yrs, is a no nonsense guy with fire and a great work ethic in him....Players love him and would as they say round here "run thru a wall for him" His players would play with attitude and aggression cause they know if you dont...you will be yanked...All I hear about him is good stuff. He is kinda like what we got in the beginning with Osh before he got what seems to be lazy and complacent....and I think exposed due to his actual lack of coaching experience. He had 3 yrs as a ST coordinator...and it's showing now when he has to actually coach and fix...he doesnt have the chops...leading is one thing...but if what your leading them to is pretty vague and empty...you flounder Donovan interned in the NCAA to start his journey...has been a ST coordinator obviously, as thats his role now, but he has also been a positional coach, defensive coordinator..asst. HC...A Head coach for 4 yrs in the Canadian University ranks, and he does, and has done player recruitment, and seeing as T.O always seem to find these new guys outta nowhere he likely has had hand in that, or could bring one their sleuths with him in a promoted scouting role....To me that says hire this guy and you know the culture here wouldnt change...if anything become better cause with him you will need to earn the job...then keep it

We forgot about the adjusting aspect..or adapting to the game nuances..next week we come out looking like 45 rookies...but adjust in 2nd half when the game is out of reach? Lol Like ive said..our main ailment which has caused us to choke in 3 Grey cups..and look continually worse and worse over the last 2 yrs...is coaching..100 percent certain u fix that...and we look alot different

Most organizations when faltering like us and there is prety obvious issues..can Coach first and see if the issues dissappear...well the well functioning ones do. Turning both means total organizational overhaul on many levels..which we dont need..and with that too can come a yr or 2 where big fa's may take a pass until things get sorted..we dont need to go down that path....yet...deduct 1 thing at a time and see if the issues dissappear

and based on Osh's comments...any changes to have a beneficial effect don't seem likely. He thinks we are o.k

Yup...and if anyone thinks Lewis would offer less than Cobb and Nield they seriously have issues Man drop Hazen for Singer..Add Lewis for Elsbury...start them and only have 1 Canadian reciever and 2 starters on defence Canadian which we could easily do...plus use the Nationslized American...would be night and day difference for the Offence...Demski with White..Singer..Lewis..Pokey..and Clercius and Nield as rotation and depth...how's that not better than what we currently running out there? And the thing with the nationalized American he actually counts as your required eighth Canadian starter but since we choose not to use him h Osh has to start eight true Canadians which makes us weaker...guys a fool...and if u designated one like say Bryant.. then that also allows you to add an additional American on the roster to fill his spot...just plain lunacy to serve his bias

The comment osh made this week in an article leading up to the game said a lot and should have been the key indicator of how the practice week and roster leading up to this game was gonna shape up..and turn out.."we right where we want to be" or was it need? Can't recall.. one or the other but regardless..just was confirmation of obvious..he sees no issues..no reason to change anything and all is on right track...just clueless

Well not using the full amount of practice time each week isnt helping matters either...no reason for the extra days off. None...these guys are elite athletes and as practices are such a joke anyway they can manage practicing every day after the minimum 1 full day off after a game as per the CBA If they dont like it..start producing and making errors...plain and simple And yeah...nobody says diddly..seems overly concerned..or does anything about it..its all ho-hum But its bubbling in ZC tho..I sense it in BO too...Even WJ seems more quiet and contained and doesn't wanna spew the old rhetoric b.s...I can honestly see some lockeroom issues now...brought on from our kid glove gutless coaching
