GCn20 got a reaction from BigBlueFanatic in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
I agree he played badly, but that is mostly because of his own physical limitations. From all accounts through the years he was a very smart player that had physical limits. I think he might be a very good coach.
I think that BO's problem was the play calling of Hogan, not with the man himself. Pros can make the differentiation.
Could be because Hogan was a very good RB coach for us before.
Why not give Jake a chance? What do you know of his ability to do that? Nothing. Just assumptions. No consequences of mediocrity? Tell that to the guy Jake just replaced or the demoted Hogan. They are feeling the consequences.

You realize that Hogan was our RB coach before when BO had his best years right?
I think these are great moves for our organization.

He can't be as bad as Patterson was and if it takes him off the field it's a double win. Are you seriously complaining about this? Jake is a long time veteran DL of our club and league, he has a ton he can teach. That doesn't necessarily mean he will be a good coach but excluding his chances of being one based on his playing career doesn't make sense either. Look at Ryan Dinwiddie, guy was a career backup and barely at that and is a great coach. I'm willing to give him a chance, and at the same time get rid of Patterson who was god awful.

Sounds like they like Fajardo more than Kelly. Tells me all I need to know about how Kelly is perceived around the league.

Whether it's FA. or trade, he can't bring mediocrity to camp in his signings anymore. All we've seen over the past 3 years is KW mismanage the SMS so that allstars leave for more cash only to be replaced by middle of the road FA talent. That can't happen anymore, our well of all-stars is dry. Time after time we chose cheap over performance and look what it got us last year. He has to do whatever it takes to free up the cash to be effective, if that means making hard choices on Bombers who are underperforming on their salary level so be it. The BO contract shows me that he still does not understand that concept though.

Sankey is over rated and I would rather be have T.Jones. However, I want to see this year's camp to have some proven CFL talent challenging incumbents at every position groups. We don't play rookies unless they stand out, and that is only OK if you mix rookies with CFL proven talent to challenge at camp. Having 24 starters, a handful of 2nd year players, all rookies cannot be feasible if your organization likes to slow roll rookies.
Also, the CFL talent has to be correctly identified. We saw maybe some of the worst GMing in Bomber history in our FA signings last year. Just atrocious.

KW is responsible for who comes to camp. 100% on him. Terrible GMing last offseason. He needs a big offseason this year.

We drafted him. We own his CFL rights in perpetuity.

Yep..as i said take it with a grain of salt. It is overheard chat in physio room.
I don't mind Condell at all. He's a good experienced OC. He is what we needed

As it should be, maybe even to a far greater extent. We spent well below the SMS last year by my math so spending it now is the least he could do.
Heard via the grape vine that Thomas is likely to retire. Take it with a grain of salt, but a friend of mine connected to the Bomber's training staff seems pretty convinced he's hanging them up. Hope for the best on that one.

Lol
Kramdi is a player that you and most of the forum disagree on I think. I would rather see him at S though.

Hanging onto aging vets kills our game day roster, bad contracts kill our overall roster. SMS mismanagement will kill a team faster than anything. Gauthier, Hallett, did zero damage to our roster. Do they need to be replaced? Yea probably but they were STs toiling at near league mins. The only time they impacted us negatively was when we were forced to start them. Jefferson at 200k is another huge overpay. Good teams can't overpay like this. We have a million dollars standing in two spots behind centre, that is not good SMS management.

I love the signing but not at that insane money. Man, we better be pairing him with a damn good OC because hes got an enormous contract to live up to.

Brady signing is a terrible albatross boat anchor of a contract. I hate the $ and length. Putrid.
On the bright side I am happy to have Brady here and that this almost definitely means Hogan is out.
If the contract is one third marketing money, or the SmS jumps by 30%, I can live with it, so I reserve the right to walk this back if that is the case.
My issue is solely $ and a tiny bit length of contract (if there is guaranteed year 3 $)
As it stands right now tho I don't believe this is a good contract. Love the player, hate the terms.
