  1. Fair enough. He will easily get 200k and deserves 200k. Good possibility he gets more. I am thankful we didn't go after Sankey. He has high tackle totals but take a look at rush yards surrendered by the Riders per game, and avg yards per rush. They ranked near the bottom of the league. When your MLB leads the league in tackles and you have those stat lines it means one thing, opposing offences chose to go after you because you are surrendering too many yards. Tackle totals are such a red herring sometimes. Also, Sankey does not have the game to go outside the box. He is completely one dimensional. Larry Dean absolutely saved Sankey from being completely exposed as the fraud he is.
  2. I don't mind the play call per se. We had Prukop out in the flats with only a DE, with a bad angle to him, to beat one on one for a big yardage run. Prukop should have tucked and run. I just don't understand why he didn't. He easily rips off a 10-15 yard run...maybe more. I honestly still lay this on the feet of Prukop, unless there was a bust in coverage he should have been running. It is how the play was designed.
  3. At least he would be honest. That's something we haven't seen in a long time.
  4. Because it is us that empowers this stupidity.
  5. Not sure why you would think that? Our politics on all sides of the spectrum are a cess pool and have been for quite some time.
  6. It's possible for sure. I doubt Demski wants to leave the Bombers.
  7. The difference in passing attempts between 2019 Streveler and 2022 Prukop is not even comparable. It was a stupid play call if that was a designed pass. Prukop had less than a handful of passing attempts all year. Not the same, with the exception of maybe the element of surprise....even then....weak call if that was planned. We were moving the ball with the run, and didn't need much for what could have been a game winning TD. A better comparable is if we would have sent Sean McGuire out in 2019 to try the kill shot. It would have been as non-sensical as Prukop doing it this year.
  8. Do not wait. Manitoba is about to lose one of it's two knee replacement surgeons to BC.
  9. Only two scenarios make sense in my mind as to why Prukop hit the field for anything more than short yardage and perhaps a gadget play. One, is that Zach Collaros was banged up a lot worse than we were led to believe, and all week long they knew it and prepared a passing package for Prukop. Or two, as I stated earlier this is a run play with a pass option IF our guy is so wide open you gotta take the shot. I don't honestly believe the Bombers were trying to be too cute. I think that something led them to putting Prukop in, maybe out of necessity, maybe to run....but I doubt that Prukop made the correct read on that play. If this was a designed pass than Buck and OShea would have to be incredibly stupid not to have ZC being the one throwing it. I don't believe that Buck or Osh are stupid.
  10. The stadium build was a complete fiasco from day one. Eyebrows were raised by a lot of Manitobans, not just conservatives, about the cost over runs and delays. Unfortunate because it did lead to some cut backs as costs began to spiral out of control. Without turning this into a political thread, it was a completely mismanaged project. Glad we ended up with the awesome stadium we did though.
  11. IMO, this is a run play with a pass option. Prukop was supposed to take a look downfield and if his guy is wide open then go for it but if not use the legs. He went for it and that was the biggest mistake on this play. Execution was brutal for many reasons. I don't mind the play call because I believe that Prukop was supposed to run unless Ellingson was wide open and clearly he wasn't. Bailey running the wrong route made the read even worse.
  12. Nope, the poster who started that thread does not seem to realize the value of culture to a player, In his defense, neither does his teams coach or GM.
  13. Awesome man, I wish all Rider fans were like you. That is not to say that there aren't more, they just aren't the ones we hear from and don't sweat your team too much, they have a committed fan base and the money to turn things around once they get their heads out of their butt. Realistically, the Bombers and Riders are head and shoulder above all the teams in the league in their ability to be competitive year in and year out. Like anything else it just takes the right people at the top.
  14. I am confused. Riderfans said that our loss Sunday changes everything and that we would experience a mass exodus of all our good players in FA? How can we be extending all stars? Stan has re-upped several times here already. If he wanted to leave he would have done so a long time ago. The only way Stan isn't back is if Stan isn't offered a contract and the chances of that are zero.
  15. Last week you were the enemy Bluto....sorry for the rough ride you got when you came here last week. lol. Congrats on your team winning. I pathologically hate the Riders though....darn...
  16. Agreed. I wish the mods would give it a mercy kill already. The whole conversation has been hashed and rehashed to death and is just going in circles now.
  17. As a football venue, IG has a much better design than Mosaic. Mosaic is nice and has some cool stuff, but for fan immersion I would pick IG every day and twice on Sunday. I love the concourses that allow you to get stuff without missing any of the game and still feel part of the crowd. Like you, I have never noticed them being overly packed with the exception of the Rum Hut area. Even at stadium concerts of 40k+, I have never felt cramped at IG. Are Regina's concourses bigger? Yes...but they take you completely out of the action and rhythm of any event and to make concourses that big they had to put seating further back and it feels like you are sitting a mile away at all times in that stadium. Our nosebleeds give us a better view of the field and are closer to the action than many of their good seats. It's also why they just simply cannot generate noise in comparison to us.
  18. I've lived from May long to September long in Northern Manitoba for the past 35 years. Are there some stinker days in mid May...sure. But you are grossly exaggerating and out to lunch to suggest it is worse weather than November, and the rest of your post is just non-sensical. Moving up the season a month does not represent any danger to our league, the game, nor would we be playing 4 down football. That's just a massive over reaction. Your Dad's bad fishing trip luck aside let's actually use some historical data from Environmental Canada shall we: WINNIPEG Historical weather month by month: MAY 18/7 celcius high and low with avg 6 days precipitation NOVEMBER 1/-6 avg high low with 4 days of precipitation I get it that you are opposed to starting the season earlier but let's not pretend that your reasoning that weather is worse than November is sound. It is your choice and I respect your opinion on it, as you have your reasons but to suggest that November has better weather than MAY is nonsense. If you move the season up one month for a MAY training camp with a first week of June start date you get 4 extra games in summer month and a Grey Cup around 3rd week of October where it is reasonable to expect it to be chilly but still good football weather. How this would make us into the XFL or convert us to American football is unclear to me.
  19. Looking with your eyes to the peripherals is exactly how it works. Only when a QB gets locked in on a receiver should he not notice another receiver or DB in the near vicinity...and you should look at the play again, Bailey did not run his guy in from the opposite side. In fact it appears that both receivers ran the same route and mistook the playcall. Both Ellingson and Bailey thought they were the primary read and ran the same route from what it looks like to me. I've watched it over and over and I can see no reason that Prukop shouldn't have noticed this except he made the classic QB mistake of being locked in one target.
  20. Yes, that is what they would do for sure. The only way BC is not exercising the option is if they have pre-agreed upon contract extension worked out. If he goes to the NFL, they obviously can't do that until he comes back although they will almost definitely be whispering numbers in his ears to try get him to pass on the NFL. It likely takes 600-700k for that to happen.
  21. In 1996 I swore off NHL hockey, never picked a new team never even watched a game until the Jets returned. Completely lost passion for the NHL. Even now that the Jets are back I watch may 5-6 games a year and playoffs. I was a Jets 1.0 fanatic. It broke my heart and to this day there is still a big hole left that just hasn't returned. However, I did find solace in amateur hockey and the Moose. Many an evening spent going to Stonewall or Ile Des Chenes to watch Sr. Hockey even. Honestly. something about being in those small town barns made me love the sport of hockey more, and professional hockey less. Nothing like a rink burger, and admission for less than 20 bucks and drink all the shnapps your flask can hold. lol. Go to the small town bar after the game and the whole arena shows up. It's awesome.
  22. That's what my wife says to me....go figure.
  23. I think a lot of people underestimate the power of sports to effect our mental health. Mostly because I think most don't understand what it means to be a true sports fanatic. In, and of itself, it walks a fine line between healthy and unhealthy mental health and requires careful management and certainly cognizance. I have seen many people, even on these forums, go kaflooey when they don't strike the right balance between healthy and unhealthy obsession. Certainly, a very meaningful event like a championship lost is something that can be very troubling and requires fellow fanatics to reach out to each other to make sure we are all OK. I don't know if it helps, but for the past 3 years I have prepared myself all week prior to the game in the event of a loss. It helps to come to terms with it if you acknowledge the possibility your team may not be successful, and prepare yourself mentally for how you will cope with that beforehand. Maybe, that won't work for everyone...but it helped me on Sunday. I found myself at peace. I had prepared myself reminders that this season should not be weighed by one championship game by putting little reminders for myself around the house that we were 15-3 and just witnessed one of the greatest Bomber seasons ever. Worked for me anyway.
  24. If that ball is for Ellingson than Prukop did not have his eyes downfield at all because I am not sure how he could even see Ellingson without noticing Bailey is there as well. If it's for Ellingson it is a VERY poor throw based on what his eyes should have been telling him.
  25. The coverage that Ellingson drags into the play has no effect on the play whatsoever imo. It was a throw to Bailey, and it's underthrown to the wrong shoulder. The fact that there is another receiver and DB in the area might have effected his options on the play, but the throw itself was a poor one that is intercepted even if Ellingson is nowhere around.
