  1. Baloney. Hitting the bong a little too hard today Mike? You and the other 5 Argo fans should be ashamed at how disgraceful your team is managed business wise instead of flapping your gums about how great your welfare team is. Faj was never Jones QB. Came the year after.
  2. This is ridiculous. Just shut it. There are at least 3 Western teams that are far better than your lucky, but sad sack franchise.
  3. Get a grip Bluto. You guys were flukey AF to win that game, and there is NO western team that gives a crap which of it's weak sisters in the East comes to play. That doesn't mean that an Eastern team can't win, it means that really any HEAVY underdog can sometimes beat a team that is much, much, better than them on any given Sunday. I am about as scared of Toronto as I am of Ottawa. Take comfort in your Grey Cup win, but don't come on here all cocky. If that game is played 100x we win 95 of them. Also, take comfort in the fact that the CFL artificially props up the crap teams in the East with an antiquated, bizarre, and quite frankly wholly unfair playoff structure. If not for that there likely isn't an Eastern team in very many Grey Cups. So know your role, and where you are at before flapping your gums.
  4. Yes it surely is. Walters has taken a few swings and misses as well but he has been spot on whenever he drafts as OL.
  5. In fairness, JOD and his mentor Chris Jones did draft OL. They just suck at it. St. John was a first overall...lmao. That same draft, 9 picks later, we drafted a young man in the 2nd round by the name of Michael Couture. Just as a frame of reference. Jones biggest weak spot is that he tries to get too cute, or takes big flyers on guys. O'Day mentored directly off of him, and shows similar weaknesses only he doesn't have the knack for hitting the odd home run like Jones does.
  6. But can anything you can do he can do better? That's the real question.
  7. Sure. Not that it means much. However, Hamilton isn't chopped liver either.
  8. He might be, we might lose him before we know for sure though. However, it seems that Richmond is willing to bide his time.
  9. Absolutely they are. If given my druthers and Stan retired this year, I would have been trying to get Figueroa but I would also have been checking out every OT on every team that is available along with recruiting South like mad. My point is that it is unlikely a team will have an in house and ready to go replacement for an OT. You have to be willing to grow with that OT as he learns, or you have to go to FA. We have Drew Richmond who we were lucky enough to have ripened on the vine a bit, but only because other teams in need didn't see him as ready yet.
  10. Yes and no. For your NAT OG/C component definitely, however, it is next to impossible to keep IMP OTs that are starting calibre ripening on the vine. It is very difficult to roster them, so most end their first year on the PR. At that point they are FA's and will move to starting opportunities. Like it or not, when you are replacing an IMP OT it is done with this year's recruits, last year's if you are lucky, or through FA. NAT OGs and C can be ripened on the vine a bit.
  11. OT is not a place I wanna cheap out. When Stan and Yoshi pull the pin I am hopeful that Walters will swing for the fences and get the next best OT available in FA. That being said, maybe we uncover an absolute stud or two through recruitment but even if we do I would want them extended ASAP. If we are looking to replace at league mins in will be in the LBer, DL, secondary, and receivers...or a move to a cheaper IMP RB if need be.
  12. I have a feeling that once his NFL window closes we will be discussing extension with him. Nothing immediate but certainly before the season ends.
  13. Meh....Rhymes thing is a nothing burger imo. He asks for a trade, BC ups him a little bit on a renegotiated one year deal and he is a Lion this year. If they don't redo his contract they both lose. What is he going to do if they don't re-up him. He probably feels he holds all the cards but he doesn't.
  14. If you are asking if next year can be partially guaranteed. No.
  15. Whitehead is just shy of 300k if he meets his bonuses.
  16. I think he could not do worse, and Steinhauer might be able to get him focused more. It's a risk to Hammy's dressing room tho.
  17. LOL Just a string of random letters from the illiterati over there just mashing the keyboard randomly I would imagine. Assuming, of course, they could figure out how to turn on their laptop/computer/device in the first place. No sweat. A pretty forgettable transaction and player.
  18. I am sure we will take the BPA approach to the draft again. No glaring needs that fit the draft rankings, at least in the first round.
  19. Totally agree. Evans needs to come in with a mindset that last year was an aberration and is behind him and that he is a bonafide starter. Gotta be able to quickly regain confidence as a professional athlete. We have all seen he has the tools to be a good QB. He's going to have to very quickly learn to trust in his abilities.
  20. The topic was Warwick, and her songwriter was Bacharach. He didn't choose the parameters or pick a black artist with a white song writer out of a hat and there was absolutely no mention of race in his comment? The comment was solely about Bacharach being Warwick's songwriter. Race only enters into that if you are trying very hard to make it about that as the person reading the post.
  21. The difference between Evans and Fajardo are that Evans lost confidence but has ability and plays nicely with others, and Fajardo has over confidence with little ability and throws team mates under the bus. Is there any doubt as to which is more likely to have everyone around you give the time and patience to help you rebound? I think you are referring to the 2021 Grey Cup. The difference between the in-game hissy fits by Fajardo and Evans is that after cooler heads prevailed one put the bullseye and the blame on himself, and the other threw his team mates under the bus in the media.
  22. It's not racist imo. No different than saying Muddy Waters, Etta James, and Little Walter would be nothing without Willie Dixon. It's arguable for sure...is it the song or is it the performance or the magic of both together? You will find all kinds of varied opinion on it. However, if you are of the view that the song makes the musician than it is not racist to say Bacharach made Warwick. That's a huge leap to suggest that logic is racist. There are thousands of white musicians who made there bones singing songs written for them by black song writers. Elvis immediately comes to mind. To suggest that they were the driving force between there music would not be racist. It may not be correct...or it may be...but it is not racist. It is simply the age old debate of songwriter vs performer and that has nothing to do with race.
  23. For sure. Lost in everything is that he really is a young QB. He's done a lot at his age already so it is tough to view him as such, but I think he would have been the Riders best bet at potentially securing a franchise guy. Harris is old, and will be lucky if he survives the season behind their OL. He isn't...and no QB in this league would have a hope of playing really well in Sask. this year.
