it doesn't matter who the Riders play I always want them to lose, hopefully in embarrassing fashion

??Loved the block that Nichols threw at the end to help Harris' run. And don't think the players won't notice it in film study. The little things that defines a championship caliber team. When your teammates see your QB making a big block to help Harris get a first down run late in the fourth, they'll do whatever it takes to win for you.

The excuses are always there. 1) well can he win football games (15-5 as a starter in the past calendar year) 2) Well can he produce offense? ( 34.4 points per game) 3) Can HE produce touchdowns? ( 13 touchdowns in 7 games, which is on pace for 33 TD's in the entire season) 4) Can HE protect the football? ( 4 INTS in 7 games which is on pace for 10 INT the entire season) Now that you can't argue these things anymore people are using subjective arguments against Nichols. He's a pretty good deep throw passer. The touchdown to Lankford last week, and Adams last night was perfect evidence. You're not always going to hit your man deep but I think Nichols is as good as any QB when he takes his shot down the field.

Odds and Sods - Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Haha I could not believe that OL almost caught Hurl. That's an OL catching up to a LB! Pretty funny to see. -
Odds and Sods - Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Our defense has been noticeably better with Leggett back in the line up. He brings so much to our lineup. That FF was the nail in the coffin for the Ti Cats tonight. -
I'd actually put Jake Thomas number one. One sack, constent pressure all night, fumble recovery, and made a big tackle on Gamble on the screen pass to prevent a first down.

Would love to see us get Coombs from Toronto. He could be our Andrew Harris of the future.
-
I could name over a dozen bad Bomber QB's we've had here in the past decade. It really is a QB driven lead. Decent offense with Ray under center. Absolutely nothing with the Argos backups.
-
Neither Toronto or Montreal are going anywhere this season. Just bad mediocre at best football.
-
Matthews trying to end Coombs career.
-
Boring game. The East is terrible.
-
Scrub Nichols is only on pace for 5000 yards 33 touchdowns and 12 INT, and a 12-6 record. god he sucks. Can't we do better?

Testing Our Mettle: Eskies Coming Here
Arnold_Palmer replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Let's not look past Hamilton. This is professional football and teams can win any given Sunday. These guys are playing for their careers so they have something to play for.. That being said is I'm excited to see us play Edmonton. They have a good not great team. If we can beat them at home then we know we can compete with the best in the league. -
Meh he was getting paid starter money to be a fringe starter/backup not to mention a broken hand. He had some decent plays/games but he got exposed in coverage quite a bit. I'm sure because of his "name" he'll get a shot on another team and might just be good enough to start in a weak secondary but I feel comfortable going with some of our new guys and we've seen some good development in the past few weeks.

ELITE AT WINNING! 14-5 as a starter since coming in for Drew Willy, and sure he doesn't put up as many yards as the other elite QB's in the league, but he protects the ball, and he will do whatever it takes to win. His game winning drives against Montreal and Ottawa prove how big how balls are when push comes to shove.

Decent job? JFG catches everything that's thrown his way. He's on pace for almost 600 yards. But yes having another capable NI reciever would be perfered. I hope DW can be that guy. In not mad at who we picked at number one. We have some depth at DL I'm ok with developing and easing him into the line up. Obviously they see starter potential in him one day and we have the players in place right now that it doesn't have to be this season.

Also last week to BC in convincing fashion but shh they have short memories. It's like after every loss it's the end of the works but by the middle of the week they come into every game super cocky. It's a peculiar thing.

I read rider fans proclaiming they would beat BC and sweep us. Delusional bunch over there.

Great move by the NFL. One step closer to continuity and consistency for the refs. I would love to see that in the CFL but I don't know if it's in the budget for the CFL. Referring has been especially bad this year. -

Signed Phillip Hunt, traded for O'dell Willis, signed Hefney, signed Jovon Johnson, brought in Adaruis Bowman who is still a star today. All these guys except for Hefney who was arguably the best of them all are still in the CFL today almost 8 years later. I call BS -

Oh I don't know.. Mike Kelly was a **** for sure.. But he was a decent coach. He almost got us to the playoffs with Michael fricking Bishop. The year before he was in Edmonton and helped Ricky Ray achieve the best season of his career. He was also the OC for some really good Bomber offenses in the 90's including Dunigans 700 yard passing game, and the HC for Reid's single game rushing record. The biggest problem is Taman had a lot of over paid, underachieving vets on his roster the year before so it was somewhat of a rebuilding season. I personally think he laid the ground work for the success of the 2011 Grey Cup team. He obviously had his faults and I don't blame them for going another direction after the season but scrubs like Reinbold, and Burke were a whole level worse then Kelly.. Infact the Burke era was some of the most unbearable football I've ever seen. You almost came into the game hoping new players would make an impact and were worth keeping for next season instead of expecting to win the game.
